“Commissioner of Public Safety Ron Kim will ask the Council for permission for Mayor Johnson to sign a Community Oriented Policing Services grant
The $240,000 grant includes funds for crowd control equipment such as ballistic helmets and shields, and contains funds for officers to be trained using the equipment.”
Why is he afraid of the public? Does he think we’re have food riots?

Tasers replaced face shields and batons. Using public funds to obtain this stuff is a waste no matter where it comes from.
He fears the Clifton Park mortgage prisoners --- facing foreclosures -- will invade and sack the city.
Either that or he wants a qucik and easy way to celare the line at the hot dog place on Caroline Street.
I can just hear Kim tonight pounding his chest and claiming this grant won’t cost the city. But tell me when these cops are out playing riot patrol who will cover their shifts? Cops on overtime that’s who. This madness has to end. What do these progressives like Kim want a gated community guarded by riot police and SWAT teams with the service workers bused in
Ask the Kim who pays tomorrow’s renewable costs of maintaining a "riot ready" squad for subsequent budgets.
