Hugo Chavez? No Commissioner of Public Works Skip Scirocco. Seems since the defeat of his co-conspirators in the DFC, Scirocco is having a hard time fitting in with his former cohorts in the City Republican Party. Scirocco got his panties in a bunch at the last Saratoga Springs Republican Committee meeting when he led a failed attempt to oust the highly successful and popular Committee Chairman John Herrick. Scirocco’s plan failed of course and only served to further alienate him from the rank and file members of the Committee. Scirocco is rapidly finding himself a man without friends as DPW is finally realizing that layoffs are coming and coming hard in spite of the promises made during the election by Scirocco. Morale is at an all time low in the dept. as three drivers have pled guilty to DWI charges and they find themselves under increasing criticism from a public fed up with the mismanagement of their superiors and constant cost over runs in Scirocco's budgets. DPW can be little more than an angry mob when fueled with enough alcohol and more and more of that anger is being focused on Scirocc

Skippy is a moronic bonehead. He really doesn’t have a clue what is going on in his department. He hides in his office and laments the loss of his buddy Kim and what might have been.
One good thing about all of this, the idiotic comprehensive plan that was hatched during Keehn’s administration will be finally sent to the furnace where it belongs.
As far as Scirocco he's a fucking mook.
I really feel sorry for the union memebership at DPW there have been no meetings to keep the men and women informed as to their fate.On the QT I've been told that Union President Gary Benacosta is to close to the management and most men feel betrayed by his leadership,pushing and shouting matches are becoming common ocurrance,it's to bad they don't use thar energy to clean these streets.
Skippys' real target in this game of get even that he plays is Supervisor Joanne Yepsen,don't forget she knocked Skippy out of his supervisior seat very handily and he's never forgot it,people close to Skip say his real goal is to become a state office holder,maybe Governor or SEnator,after all Skip has alot of ambition,little intelligence all the ingredients for the next step.
I think Skippy is ready to jump ship to the democrats. The party he is in now won't tolerate his crew he has created. The favors he has done for the boys is going to catch up to him. The organ grinder Design is retiring and his stronghold on his drunken troups will no longer last.
How about the $500,000 he blew on the Lincoln Ave. job?Scerwrocco wants to blame Ivins and the mayor for the problems he has created,looks like we'll pay this winter,word at the garage is to plow the miller sign people in,they do have a hit LIST.
