GO KIM GO

Once again Andrew Bernstein has proven to be little more than a clumsy political operative for Ron Kim. Writing in his personal blog Bernstein defended Kim’s right to pick the Chief wondering what all the fuss was about.

WELL BERNSTEIN I WILL TAKE A MOMENT FROM MY BUSY DAY TO EXPLAIN.

Kim and his boy Connolly lost go it. The citizens decided they didn’t trust their judgment and wanted new leadership. The Chiefs want to retire fine. The city can run for a few days just like it does when these men are on vacation and in the case of Moore that was often a month at a time with the Assistant Chiefs in charge.Wirth would be wise to replace any would be Chief Wannabe that Kim picks. And by the way Andrew we already know that Kim will pick Cole and Betor. Cole is little better than his father and Betor is a paper pusher whose grandiose plans to have to Fire Department take over SEMS is one of the reasons we’re in this mess .

What happened to reporters that do investigative journalism? It seems Kim writes a press release Bernstein changes a few words around and its in the paper as news.

Who was going to replace who and not just the chiefs but all the way down the line was all decided when this scheme was hatched to have the chiefs retire. They think it will give Kim some leftover influence with the Dept. The Dept meantime is planning all it can do to give Wirth a hard time and will sabotage any plan to have the Dept run smoothly. Then with the Dept in turmoil they feel they can recapture the PS seat with a PBA friendly official.I heard that Moore is even considering a run against Wirth nn 2011 and the man hasn't even taken office yet

Andy,
You are so biased that Kim feld he was actually going to win the election. Now you need to kiss and make up with Johnson and Franck. Who is that fat bitch you are hoisting up, Babs Lombardo?

Stick a fork in it Andrew! They're done and from what you are able to scratch out these days; it may appear so are you.

Here’s a partial list of reasons why the voters made new choices.

1. The coven got voted into office on platforms that they were neither willing to defend or had little idea what their platform sound bites meant.

2. These anarchists spent ten months attempting to change the form of government wasting the valuable time that was needed to do the City’s business.

3. The decision not to manage the PSD and giving carte blanche to all demands that “his managers” requested, was a fatal misconception of responsibility.

4. Blinded by the self-serving Unions our bankruptcy expert managed to win concessions for them even when the economic forecasts would have required restraint.

5. Even with a political majority, these elected officials initially managed to accomplish very little except to orchestrate chaos in order to remove from office the longest standing member of their fold.

6. The PSC while managing a second term continued the chaos on the Council, completing his nightmare by again listening to too many voices and forgetting those who live and pay for services and who he was supposed to represent.

7. Avoidable lawsuits and controversial theatrics in and out of City Hall leaves little in the public’s memory of his tenure except a squandered opportunity.

It’s time to say good night Andrew.

The ghost of past commissioners says:

Wasn't McGourty (PS Comm.) a former police officer?
Wasn't Lewie Benton (PS Comm.) on the County payroll in a civil service job?

How did that work out fer ya?

The last thing this city needs is a "former" public servant, as a commissioner.

Berstein writes about "upheaval in the upper ranks'
What happened, Moore find out he can't keep his personal patrol car he's been bring home for 5 years or did he just realize he might actually have to pay for a cup of coffee in dunkin donuts.Yea Chief the real world sucks.

Ain't this sweet. Bernstein didn't even sign his name to this dribble

Commissioner-elect Richard Wirth will attend all three interviews, although it is Commissioner Kim’s authority to make an appointment, until Dec. 31, when he will leave office.

Kim said that he expects to make a decision as soon as Friday.

NEWS FLASH ANDREW WIRTH CAN UNAPPOINT THEM.

I just tired to criticize Andrew at the saratogian and now I banned. Well at least I can do it here.

Andrew when will you realize the majority of residents do not support Kim or do we trust in his judgment to select anyone. He lost by 1500 votes that’s a record for the last few years. Even Elliot Massie the areas most prominent democrat gave money to Johnson. Your biased reporting is destroying what ever chance you had to find a real job.

Chief Moore can retire and the state will allow an acting chief to be appointed until after the first of the year. Albany is currently looking for a chief and has an acting chief. Schenectady has done it several times also. When Chief King in Saratoga retired Bob Flanagan was acting chief for a week before Chief Moore took office. It's legal and would create a vacancy that would justify preventing the layoff. Both Rick Wirth and Ron Kim know this. It's a fact that this can be done. They both know that either way the subject looking to be laid off would not loose their job. And even if worse came to worse, which won't happen; the person would be laid off for about a week and called back. I know Rick and he would not allow the person looking at the lay off to be unemployed over the holidays just to have a power struggle with Kim.
So this brings us back to the question of why would Kim do this? Why isn't Kim appointing an acting chief. Kim said it,“I’m doing this because I know these people best”. The part about saving the jobs is all a lie. Kim is doing this as a last act of being a sore looser.

I wonder if Kim will invite Bernstein to the interviews to get his input.
