KIM’S BOORISH BEHAVIOR CONTINUES

Hoping to be as disruptive as possible Ron Kim announced the final act of his ill planned chief exchange on Thursday, After conducting sham interviews on Thursday and after consulting with his public relations consultant Andrew Bernstein about how to spin this in the press Ron Kim is poised to name Chris Cole to be the new Chief. Cole is the son of former Assistant Chief Eugene Cole who was removed from the police by Lew Benton after he was found to be collecting full Police pay from a service related disability while running a private security company at the same time.
Bernstein who wrote a public relations piece that he likes to call unbiased news for the paper explained why all of this is good and proper in the waning days of Kim’s administration.
Well Berstein here’s an expression they didn’t teach you in journalism school at Skidmore.

DON’T PISS DOWN MY LEG AND TELL ME IT’S RAINING

I quote “not by political considerations’ this entire charade is nothing but a political ploy. KIM NEW that Cole was his choice when he and Moore discussed the timing of the chief’s retirement. Kim and exiting Chief Moore are doing all within their power to undermine Wirth before he even takes office. I guess they figure that they must destroy the Police Dept to save it. Were is the outrage of the press? Oh I forgot that lump in Kim’s bed is the press.
I also love the fact the Chief has his own Union. What a Union of one person? Did any one else see Kim on the news last night claiming the “PEOPLE’ elected him for 4? Years and he has an obligation to make this appointment. Did the cameraman laugh? Kim the “PEOPLE” threw you out. In 27 more days you’re have as much influence in the police station as I do. You lost by 1500 votes the most anyone lost the Mayors seat by in twenty years. Will we need a State Police SWAT team to drag you out of city hall Jan1?

The fact that you can make light of this situation is fine but the underlying problem is quite real and dangerous. Kim is a demigod who now that he has lost will be everything he can to make Wirth’s transition as difficult as possible. the Saratogians role in aided and abetting Kim’s plans are equally dangerous and reprehensible. Any one who criticizes Bernstein or the paper is banned from posting comments. I am thankful we have this forum and that you print the truth. Keep the heat on these self serving prim donna’s and Jan 1 can’t come fast enough.

If there was ever a group of people who had it coming it is the Saratoga Springs Police. Not one word on taking any kind of conciliatory moves in the contract. No offers to give up step increases of cost of living raises that just keep spitting in the eye of Wirth their new boss Jan1. Wirth doesn’t need a Deputy he needs an animal trainer.

I don't understand. Bernstein claims in his article that a new police chief has to be in place the day after the current chief retires. How much notice does one have to give to retire? Aren't there rules about that? Otherwise what if the chief gives a one day notice, does there have to be a new chief the next day?

Does anyone remember Flanagan the popular Assistant Chief who was made acting chief for a week between Chief King and Chief Moore as a thank you for his years of dedicated service.Of course a temporary chief can be appointed. Colely knows were all the bodies are buried in this town. Hell his father buried some of them. the fix is in.

Bernstein has spent the last year defending Kim and attacking anyone who stood up to Kim.Why would he change now?

John,

I love this shit! Keep up the good work! Keep me laughing as you keep me informed. Busting Kim's balls until the end! Great! I knew you would be a writer someday!

The ghost of past commissioners says:

Just for the sake of accuracy, Flanagan (Fun Gun) was never Asst. Chief. He was Captain.
Came up through the ranks, wielding a flashlight or a billy club, whatever it took to subdue the "criminals". He is still famous for his choke-hold, recorded for posterity.
