Scirocco: I don’t give a dam what the Charter says

Well were to begin? At tonight’s City Council meeting Scirocco was more confused then ever to the extent that at one point he blurted out“I don’t care what the charter says”. The little man is in clearly over his head as John Franck Commissioner of Accounts berated him for proposing illegal changes to the 2010 comprehensive budget that after a mind numbing forty-five minute incoherent speech where he attempted to justify his lawbreaking action as somehow justified because he thought it was best for the taxpayer. His motion was quickly shot down by the adults at the table. Later a similar lame attempt to circumvent the Charter by Kim was also shot down in flames.

NEXT CUE THE VIOLINS BUT DON’T FORGET THE GOLDEN PARACHUTE.

In what was being touted as a selfless act both Fire Chief Cogan and Police Chief Moore announced their impending retirements. One must remember that these men will receive generous pensions, free heath insurance for life for themselves and their families and will be free without any budgetary restrictions to seek other employment. Rumor has it that Chief Moore has his eye on the vacant Albany Police Chief position but I sincerely doubt that the political savvy Albany Mayor Jennings would take such an application seriously. He also walks away with a check from the city for $60000 for having his feeling hurt by then Deputy Commissioner Erin Dwyer. Since these positions must be filled it is doubtful the city will save any money at all much less the amounts Kim claimed. I being of a more cynical nature wonder if the timing of these retirements have more to do with allowing Kim a chance to name there successors than real budgetary saving.

FINAL BOMBSHELL

Marilyn Rivers Risk & Safety Director put out a Fleet Safety Policy that was adopted by the Council after describing in blood curdling detail a culture of rampant drugs, weapons and alcohol abuse among drivers of the city fleet specifically DPW where employees have continued to operate city trucks after being arrested for drunk driving and drug charges. All and all it was a damming report on Scirocco’s management skills. Scirocco said drunk or not these were his men he loved them and would stand by them and I wonder why DPW hit 37 cars so far this year.

There was also a loud drunken women who has taken to catcalls during the Council meeting, she was also one of the plotters who led Scirocco’s failed attempt to take over the City Republican Committee and is an outspoken supporter of all things police. One can only hope she will be removed or given a job driving one of Scirocco's dump trucks next year. God know she’d blend right in.

Cogan is leaving on the 25th and this gives Kim five days to appoint a chief. Kim should do the right thing and appoint a acting chief which is legal. He should allow Wirth to appoint the permanent chief after the first of the year. Wirth has to work with the new chief and should not have a person that has only five days left in office determine the new chief. If Kim appoints a fire chief, he can also appoint people to the ranks of the position the new chief is leaving and so on. So Kim will promote several people just before leaving. That’s just not right. The right thing to do is let Wirth make these decisions but we know the power hungry control freak will not yield the right of way to Wirth. Kim is a Bozo to the end

Wow, just when I thought I couldn’t think any less of the Chief of Police. His “dramatic” retirement, with tears in his eyes was received as an early Christmas gift for the rest of the PD. And they deserve it. Let’s not forget he has up to a year to rescind this and return…. Now that is relatively unlikely if he actually files the paperwork and leaves the building but rest assured there will be a hail storm when he finally does. Ed Moore is a coward and a coward of the worst kind. He has mismanaged that department into bankruptcy in less than 4 years, has demoralized the officers to a point of no return. He no doubted will choose his predecessor since Ron Kim is made of absolutely nothing and will let him, which means more of the same. Despite all this we should toast the man who “served” this city for 35 years “Congratulations Ed on a job done to the best of your ability, it’s really too bad you never did solve the only two murders that happened in the city under your watch, it’s inspiring how you took a department that ran in the red every single year since Lew Benton left and bankrupt it in less than 4, it is commendable how quickly you took an overtime budget reduced by 20% not too long ago and turned it into a senior police officer stimulus package (now we know where Obama got the idea), and it is revolting that a coward to the degree you are had such a position of respect and honor because you lack both. A true man would have sat down with the city council, admitted to making some mistakes and committing to correct them to avoid where we are today. You ran which is what you have always done and that is what you will always do. You’re the guy that convinces the suicide bomber that he must make the ultimate sacrifice for the better good (you), rigs him up and throws him into the building while running as fast as you can in the opposite direction. That budget was easily fixed but then the Mayor, Finance Commissioner and Account Commissioner would have seen all of the policies and overtime schemes that you put in place to reward your minions and punish those that did not follow you blindly. I don’t even care about the millions of dollars you used to pay off those that carried out your revenge I wonder what happens to the men and women who have been misled, misguided and trained by you in your hateful, bitter, paranoid school of management. WHICH ONE OF THEM CARRIES THE TORCH?

You are a bitter cynical man. Chief Moore has more integrity in one finger than you have in your whole body.

You are right I am a cynical man and a jaded prick if you must know. Why?
Maybe when I see headlines like.
Saratoga Springs City Council fails to save jobs.
In the local rag by boy reporter Bernstein and press secretary for Skip Scirocco. Yellow journalism you bet your ass. That is why I spend my time cranking out this blog. What do I get in return hate mail and death threats. I think today set a one day record. Keep it coming you cowardly bastards I only wish it was on paper so I could use them to wipe my ass.
And finally to end my rant after reading one more unpublished comment promising to kill my wife.
Fuck you and I will not be silenced.

The daily gazette is reporting that Kim plans to appoint Cole to be police chief. That guy is just as bad as his father and worse than Moore.I hope Wirth can undue all this last minute damage done by Kim.

Police: Woman charged with felony DWI said...

Hey Rivers isn't this Skippy's buddy who he created a special job for?

LAKE GEORGE -- A Gansevoort woman was charged with felony driving while intoxicated after she was pulled over on Route 9 early Tuesday, police said.

Kelly D. Clark, 41, was arrested at 12:40 a.m. when Warren County sheriff’s Patrol Officer Jeremy Coon saw her veer out of her lane, according to the sheriff’s office.

Clark was found to be intoxicated, and because of a prior DWI conviction in 2003, was charged with felony DWI, police said.

Clark was released pending prosecution in Lake George Town Court.

If I remember right, and you can ask John Frank, Didn't McTyuge hire 8people in Dec. after the budget was pass after he lost to Scirocco. I don't think that he went yelling at MeTyuge.

The Kelly Clark that you are talking about is not the same as the one that works in City Hall.
