Ho has a good take on D.A.R.E.

After being accused of being soft on drugs I'm presenting my own public service announcement.

Killing DARE is a start,,,but would rather keep dare teaching programs, etc… and eliminate 2 mile long roadblocks on route 9 for people leaving town and getting on the northway…..ridiculous….we’re people,,,not lemmings….( and stop hiding in bushes waiting to catch a 33 in a 30 zone…) cops used to be there to help us—now they are there to catch us…….respect ?–ha

If you got a 33 mph ticket on Route 9 it was probably the State Park Police as you drove through park property. As far as the Police ticketing you for speeding - that's called enforcement. Get you fat ass out of bed 5 minutes earlier and you'll get to exit 13 south where I'm sure you'll meet my other brothers who also work for New York State. So go ahead and make our Day leadfoot ... Hasta La Vista.

I have long found it a paradox that affluent people in this country who have more than they could ever need, take drugs and kill themselves with alarming frequency and Haitians who have nothing and all most no future will cling to life despite the odds and hopelessness of their situation.

Anon 6:31 - It's a good bet that those Haitians aren't spending any time online reading and answering bloggers... perhaps it's not their hope that's keeping them from suicide.

I agree it is a paradox a year ago I was in West Africa and one of the discussions I had with local villagers was how many affluent young women in the United States suffered from Bulimia nervosa and Anorexia Nervosa. They really didn’t believe me. Finally I think I was able to convince them it was a very real and serious problem the village leader just looked at me with a stunned look and said
“Americans are fucking crazy”

It was just inconceivable to them that people surrounded by food would purge and starve themselves to death

DARE officer Anthony Straus made more than $78,000 last year, I find that a waste of my money and it would seem that the majority of Saratogians agreed with me that is why every PBA endorsed candidate lost. You want a drug program in Public School. HAVE A BAKE SALE to pay for it because I’m not. The vast Public employee public education complex or scam has bankrupted the State and the city. You had better get used to cuts and if you don’t like them tell your friends, relatives whatever there’s a front door and a back door to the police station. Feel free to use them and don’t let the door hit you in the back. Good luck in your future endeavors.
