In an infamous incident in which Barbara Lombardo hosted a porn site at her personal blog from Dec 28 till it was removed January 5 by Stephen Shoemaker the paper now falsely claims they were not properly informed of the links location.I will now prove they are lying.... Now as any blogger knows these Porn posters are always out there looking to take advantage of a unattended blog. And so since Barb is technologically challenged her blog was ripe for the taking. What I thought was a humorous event has turned ugly with Stephen Shoemaker blatantly lying to cover his boss’s incompetence.

In two e-mails I clearly told her were it was located and the fact it was indeed Japanese porn. You were not only told it was "on our site.". You were told were it was and what it was and a link was provided.
NOW YOU ARE SHOCKED SHOCKED that people would make a big deal out of it. Well I will explain it to you.
First you hosted a Japanese Porn site.
Second when notified twice, with a link and a description you refused to bother to take it down.
Third. You then lied about it.
At best you are inept and at worst you have no journalistic integrity. Nether one is very pretty.

Shoemaker isn't such a bad guy he is just trying to cover Lambardo's incompetent ass.
I never said he was.I am sure he is grossly underpaid.But he spent time and resources to ban people from the Saratogian and most were banned not for their political views but for criticizing the paper. It takes time to isolate an IP and blacklist them.He also spent time and money to tract down the owner of this blog by tracking IP's.So he has time for all this but he's to busy to check a blog.Remember the Japanese Porn link was up over a week not one day or a few hours a WEEK.Then he lied and that is unexceptionable.

Fair enough assessment on the wording of the first e-mail. I merely glanced at it and took "your blog" to mean the comments section of The Saratogian site proper, not an actual staff blog -- many people make the two synonymous in their remarks. My recollection of the e-mail's wording was incorrect.
That was my mistake.
I stand by my two points, however.

As much as I look forward to hearing Mr Veitch's views on horse racing, his pieces are tough to read.
Since when did they write a rule that a paragraph could be no longer than one sentence?
Again, this is not Mr Veitch's fault: it is the role of his Editor to make sure that the piece hitting the paper is both readable and follows the standard rules of grammar and writing composition & structure.
