Seems Client No. 9 — Thug No. 1 is in from the cold

Self-righteous and unforgiving Eliot Spitzer has returned from the political wilderness to stick his toe in the waters to test for a political comeback while finding time to trash Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

In an interview on WAMC, Mr. Spitzer said he would not have appointed Ms. Gillibrand “under any circumstance” because her “views on issues are either wrong or too malleable.”

“We need people in leadership now who know what they believe, who are willing to stand up and state what they believe and make tough decisions on critical issues relating to the economy, civil rights, issues of crime and punishment, guns, same-sex marriage,” Mr. Spitzer told WAMC’s Alan Chartock. “And I just think on every one of those scores, she fails.”
A spokesman for Ms. Gillibrand fought back and alluded to the failings of Mr. Spitzer, who resigned in 2008 after the revelation that he patronized a high-priced call girl service.
“Because of his own actions, it wasn’t his call to make,” said the spokesman, Glen Caplin. “It’s not surprising considering she was among the first Democrats to say he would need to step down if the allegations were true.
Spitzer long the darling of NY progressives has come to symbolize all that is wrong with the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. After suffering defeat after defeat from Scott Murphy voting against heath care reform to City Progressive Dems losing every contested race in the city to the more national issues of Barack Obama expanding the war in Afghanistan to his failure to enact meaningful heath care reform progressives are a movement under siege.
Enter Mr. Spitzer from the political graveyard to trash an honest hard working Senator who was appointed by a man he choose as his lieutenant governor. Alan Chartock who has turned Public Radio Station WAMC into his own personal fiefdom was giddy as a school girl as he fawned over Spitzer. Chartock the next day when explaining away the sins of Spitzer on his radio show Vox Pop declared that 80% of men sleep with prostitutes and that anyone who thinks that Spitzer should stay out of the public eye is a prude and a hypocrite.

WELL EXCUSE ME MR.CHARTOCK!!!!!
I really don’t have a problem with the fact Mr. Spitzer banged a prostitute {really don’t you think slept with a prostitute is a misnomer. He only had one hour “appointments” barely time for a nap}.My problem is Eliot Spitzer got caught patronizing prostitutes. ... He is also the former attorney general and made a point of prosecuting prostitution businesses when he held that job. What a big hypocrite this guy is.
I imagine Spitzer thought he could get away with anything his whole life. He came from a family wealthy enough to buy anything and live by any moral or immoral code they chose. His "fall" happened because he made the mistake of entering a world where he actually had to answer to someone, namely, the voter. Eliot Spitzer’s self-destructive inability to recognize any limit on his compulsions was never more evident than his staff’s enlistment of the New York State Police in a campaign to discredit the state’s Senate Majority Leader, Joseph Bruno. He turned the State Police into a private militia to attack his political opponents. I find that SCARY. In retrospect his appetite for prostitutes might have been one of his lesser personality disorders.
In closing I would like to tell Mr Chartock that no Eliot Spitzer has no place in a public debate about the merits of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand unless that debate takes place on the Jerry Springer Show

Why would anyone care what he thinks? He is irrelevant. His ego causes him to think that someone, other than Chartock, actually does care.
Elliot – you had your 15+ minutes and goofed it up – go away and leave the pontificating to people who haven’t resigned in disgrace for committing a crime that many would have been jailed for.

Spitzer is an arrogant, sexist, SOB. The Progressives are still furious Paterson picked someone from (GASP) upstate and he did not pick darling Caroline who was "sleeping" with the Editor of the New York Times. That's when Paterson's ratings slipped. The elitists in NYC (like Spitzer, Kennedy and everyone at the New York Times) assume we are all up here "sleeping" with sheep and milking cows. Shame on Chertok!!!!

And they can't take criticism. Below is a Comment I tried to make today; a helpful comment, actually.

The result: MY IP IS BLACKLISTED!

No wonder that rag is going down the shitter. Good riddance.

Is there anyone at The Saratogian with the word EDITOR in his or her title?

As much as I look forward to hearing Mr Veitch's views on horse racing, his pieces are tough to read.

Since when did they write a rule that a paragraph could be no longer than one sentence?

Again, this is not Mr Veitch's fault: it is the role of his Editor to make sure that the piece hitting the paper is both readable and follows the standard rules of grammar and writing composition & structure.

Spitzer, first, its no surprise that lapdog Chartock gave you the 5 min you needed, that guy was so star struck with you it was like watching a teenage girl watching a twilight premier.

Second, lets take a long look at the incompetence that ran your administration, that we are still paying for. Remember Patrick Foye, I can’t even imagine what damage he did long term by killing so many job creating deals and pissing on the entire NYS business community. Executive orders that cost millions with no impact(webcams), A DOT appointment from Mass, that worked out good didn’t it, I am glad to see she was so on top of the bridge problems. Quite frankly there are so many “yesmen” with no credentials other than an ivy league degree or law degree you appointed I don’t have the energy to write about each of them. I was a supporter until about February 2007, after seeing how you treated the people who got you to the Governor’s mansion and then how you thumbed your nose at all of them. Actions speak louder than words. If you are thinking of running statewide I want to wish you good luck in getting your petitions signed you arrogant, fascist fuck.

Don't worry they're enough of the true believing progressive types out there to sign his petitions. Look at the Saratoga DFC they don't even believe they lost the election they think they were robbed. Never underestimate the shear stupidity of these people if Spitzer runs their support him.

What is truly remarkable is that the liberal press continues to publish the views of someone who would be a convicted felon if it wasn’t for his family power, money and connections. Why are we interested in what this disgraced Governor, husband and father has to say about anyone? And his nerve in criticizing Sen. Gillibrand, who is hard working and honest, is incredible. Ignore Spitzer! That should be his punishment.

Eliot is correct about Gillibrand. He was correct about Joe Bruno. So the guy likes women. I can't imagine he would have much use for the DFC, may they RIP.

Spitzer and the DFC have this in common:

They are both politically DEAD in the water.

...and that's the way it is.
