City Council meeting tonight. Hold on to your wallets

Tonight’s City Council meeting starts at 6:35 p.m to allow time for a public hearing. Nothing could contrast the differences in Council members priorities better that tonight's meeting.

In the Council meeting Commissioner of Accounts John Franck will propose hiring and purchasing freezes and a 10 percent City Council pay reduction on his own salary. And will call on the unions to do the same

In the public hearing Commissioner of Public Works Anthony “Skip” Scirocco will propose mind numbing tax increases in the cities water and sewer rates. When asked how high, the mathematically challenged Commissioner replied he wasn’t so sure as he is unable to count that high on his toes.

Scirocco said. “How the hell should I know? I can’t even count garbage bags.”*

So their you have it in a nut shell folks. One Commissioner calls for budget cuts and pay reductions and one protects the cities Unions and lobbies for tax increases. What more do I need to say?

• Legal disclaimer. Scirocco has not proposed a Toilet paper tax and I hope I haven’t given him any ideas. Everyone also knows Scirocco doesn’t count on his toes he counts on his fingers.

A time for belt tightening....

It is critical that the City take a significant step towards reducing expenses. Private companies in our area have weathered the economic storms in the past 18 months by asking employees to take a pay cut, eliminate perks and raises and also reduce staffing levels.

The City MUST look at what we can afford - and to get creative in how we shift our service expectations.

Good for Commissioner Franck!!!

Keep raising your voice to the Lunatic Fringe. Yeah, I read you three times a day. Everyone needs to read your blog.
Danger: You might not get it at first but I assure you that when you do, you will slap yourself in the head like the idiot you once were. Read it. Love it. Learn it. And that pile of smelly goo at yer’ feet? That’s just the entrails of your stinking city unions baking in the hot sand of the Saratoga in decline arena.

That man in the picture was very mean to me. I don't like him.

The ghost of past commissioners says:

Hold onto your hat, an announcement is coming soon.
The PD is getting a double-digit raise.
I kid you not.

The Boys From Brazil said...

Yea. It's a little easier for Franck to say 10% of his salary. Big Fucking deal! now he expects another poor slob making $30000 a year to do the same? What a dick! That picture of him comes straight from Neo-Nazi Magazine!

Your new Mayor said...

I hereby announce my candidacy for Mayor of Saratoga Springs.

My platform:

- Union negotiations will include:

* Pay differentials for those living within the city limits vs those who do not

* 12% Labor cost reductions. The union has the choice of how to accomplish this (layoffs or across the board wage decreases)

- I will pay -- out of my own pocket -- for the hiring of a LEAN OFFICE consultant to come into city hall and increase productivity by a minimum of 10%. All dollars saved over that 10% will be used to reimburse my cash outlay until paid; without interest.

- I will offer a plan whereby the Police Department will be provided with sufficient space to effectively and professionally carry out their duties, but WITHOUT the need for constructing a new building.

- I will not support property taxes increases that are greater than the rate of inflation during my term.

- Paid parking will be limited to a new parking garage supporting the civic center (year round) and the other parking decks (seasonally-only). There will be no on-street paid parking.

More of my platform is upcoming.

But first; a song:

This ship is sinking
Can't you hear me cry
If you hear me yelling
You better run
Cus you know
What they've done
Well the rain came and knocked down my door
And I ain't got no home anymore
The rain came and knocked down my door
And I ain't got no home anymore

Will the union goons be out in force again tonight before the council meeting? Recall last year's terrible situation:

Chanting, blocking the sidwalks and roadways, making it difficualt to enter the building without receiving an elbow or two? Spitting on cars that refused to honk their horns in support. Swearing at families, some with children in strollers, who dared to disagree with their selfish aims.

This incident was one of the scariest in this city's history. Yes, I was there. Were you?

If this is ever scheduled to happen again, I ask that an out of town agency be called in to provide security.

We can not let the thugs rule. Hopefully, the new DPS commissioner will agree and not incite his troops, the way the last one did.

Yes, I'm pointing my finger at you, Mr Kim.

Suspension of belief is one thing; suspension of thinking is asking too much said...

If the police get any raise we should protest in front of the police Department.

Start protesting 15% over 3 Years

The new DPW commissioner said...

Hey new Mayor you are a day late and a dollar short. This mayor is already dealing with the unions with a hardline attitude. Also the Housing Authority already is providing two police substations, one at Stonequist Apts. and the other just completed rehab space for the detectives at Jefferson Terrace right next to the New Rec Center. The paid parking will be shot down because of A-Holes like Joe Dalton will cry foul.

Laid-off patrolman says:

A double-digit raise?

I have seven-digit debt, and here's another digit for the rest of you (hand raised).

Do you want us to mobilize? We can be ready in half a day.

The police are making plenty of money now, considering we aren't living in a high crime area where there is a thug on every corner. Sorry police! I'm hoping to continue to own a home in Saratoga Springs and if that means there is only one officer at a Saratoga High football game I'm okay with that. I mean, seriously, have any of you seen the football games? There are so many officers there it looks like they expect a riot to break out any minute! What a waste of money! Help the tax payers to continue to be city residents (and tax payers) and cut back on wasteful spending.

Let's roll, Dead Rabbits. Tell me where and what arms to bring.

So--if the "15% 3 years" is true -- this is 4:50's idea of the mayor's HARDLINE ATTITUDE with the unions?

I'm not sure Emperor Kim would have even given away that muuch.

But then again, he might have doubled it.

FUCK THE COPS said...

Finally, after 53 weeks of unemployment, I finally found a frickin' job! It pays 30% less than my old one, but I'm happy to have it.
Now I read the cops are getting 15%
FUCK THEM

Franck is such a dip shit. He is one of the reasons we are in this problem in the first place. Let's budget for money we don't have. Brilliant!! I think he should give back more of his salary, namely all of it.

And if the cops are getting that much then the rest of that council should go. Turn over the services to the sheriff's department. We'll get the same coverage for a lot cheaper.

Sippy said...

Ya know, ya know, ya Know....this ain't gonna be good......

But then again some of my friends think I'm a Fucking Idiot.

Frankwe said...

Heh Fat Lady,
Frank did not cause this problem. He's the only one to have warned the council on many of the fool items they did.

Check the record.

Also look what your boy Skippy, Kim and Ivins did in the past 4 years. Not good.

Then come back.....
