We now have it confirmed that Commissioner of Public Works Anthony "Skip" Scirocco discussed after the budget meeting last night the possible sale of the National Historic Landmark Canfield Casino in Congress Park. The conversation took place in the beautiful ballroom of the very building he wants to sell. Scirocco proposed the City can no longer afford the historic site and symbol of the City and wants to sell it to the highest bidder.
As Scirocco said ‘the City Unions didn’t elect me to cut their jobs.”
This is just the latest in a long string of harebrained and half-assed proposals from the Commissioner. Scirocco the building is the very heart and soul of Saratoga Springs, the thought that you would sell it to maintain the lifestyles of your Union thugs in the manner they have been accustomed, should be grounds for your removal from the Council.
I also have it confirmed that you wish to buy a paving machine for your Department out of CHIPS funds, Funds that should be used to fix potholes and repave streets.
All so you can have a 70 k new toy that your men can’t operate or maintain or store. 70k for a highly specialized machine that is used less than 14 days a year. Our current lease agreement that includes the skilled operator is cost effective. Again I must wonder “what are you smoking in the mancave?”

Saratoga County Sheriff's Department renews contract with village of Corinth

BALLSTON SPA — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department will renew its $298,800 contract with the village of Corinth.
The contract pays for the services of four deputies who provide the village with police coverage 24 hours a day. The village is in budget workshops now and will include the contract in the budget it will finalize by May 1, Mayor Bradley Winslow said.
Sheriff James D. Bowen said this is the fourth year the village has contracted with the department. Corinth disbanded its village police department in 2007 to save money. The new system works “very well” for the village, Winslow said.
The county public safety committee approved the measure Tuesday.
The contract was only renewed for one year, rather than the typical two or three years, because the county is negotiating a new contract with the sheriff’s deputies’ union. The current union contract expired at the end of 2009.
In December, Halfmoon, Clifton Park and Wilton renewed their contracts with the sheriff’s department.

I can't really can't take barabara lombardo to serious on charter change it's all a ploy to protect Scirocco and the apparent coruption in his dept.The Saratogian is currently selling its' self for 99cents for a weekly subscribition about 14 cents a day,she figures by doing a couple of articals on the city charter she'll improve jrcs' bottom line,the only change needed in this city is a change in the newspaper.
Now he admits he can't manage the Casino,he also can't manage the water dept.that's in ruins and he can't manage the counting of the landfil bags.SCIROCCO IS TOAST. Just as soon as the public discovers he's in office,like when they discoverd he was the supervisor they voted him out,matter of time.
Skip thinks he is safe because the DFC sympahtizers have his back and won't run a candidate against him.

Selling the Casino would be a sin. What is happening to this city? It's so shocking to see people talking about closing the track. The city leaders need to be in Albany pounding on doors, yelling and screaming. Where is McDonald? Where is Tedesco? Where are Johnson and Yipsen?
