I have been following NXIVM and the Bronfman legal battles. I also went back and researched as many legal documents that I can find and there seems to be a pattern to how NXIVM legal team does their cases.
I agree with John that Barbara should not meet at O'Connell and Aronowitz office. It seems this would be stressful enough to go through without being in the land of Coffey.

I saw the small print while reading the documents and it appears that the Bronfmans are in bed with NXIVM on there overall game plan to drag Barbara through her bankruptcy.
It took Toni Foley (Toni Natalie) over 8 years to get through her bankruptcy after leaving Keith.
Joe O'Hara is still in his bankruptcy with an appeal.
Rick Ross is going on 7 or 8 years with a legal battle with NXIVM.
I think it's more about, in my opinion, the "mind fuck" with the over the top expense, the document dumps and request that the NX legal team can cause when being in a legal battle with them.
I myself just went through bankruptcy and to date NXIVM or their followers did not show up or file a suit against me in court. If they do now, it will be because I spoke up publicly on this blog and it retribution and not any real claim.
It's a risk I am taking as I agree that people should come forward and share their stories. Even at the risk of being sued by NXIVM or their followers.
There is also the chance that I will be BBQ on this blog by folks who don't understand how good Keith and Nancy (mostly Nancy in my situation) were at sucking people like me into the onion as Becca calls it.
Unlike Becca I was deep into the core of the onion but never in the "inner circle". I never slept with Keith nor did I spend much time with him.
I would like to publicly say that if anyone feels harmed by my participation in NXIVM I am sorry.
I did not know what was going on behind the "curtain" of what I call lies with the inner circle.
I did not know about the money losses or Keith sexual / mental mind games behavior. When I found out I left and closed the door on the center in Tacoma.
NXIVM moved the Tacoma center to Vancouver BC shortly after I closed the doors and a center was tried in Seattle but I heard closed within a year.
I have needed sometime to heal and now I feel emotionally able to come forward with my truth.
Don't worry Nancy I will not expose any of your trade secrets as I don't believe your behavior or the behavior of your inner circle is a trade secret.

Regarding the last thread - Becca I agree with your questions from your post on the last thread.
A great deal of this does not makes sense.
It is interesting that thousands have come and gone through the doors of NXIVM and only a couple hundred are active in NXIVM.
How can Nancy make the claims she is making to the courts about trade secrets being given out to third parties by Barbara? Hundreds if not thousands have this information.
I worked with Pam Nichols from O'Connell and Aronowitz to arrange for NXIVM to ship back their information I had from running a center.
I finally gave up as they would not deal with me. The information is in my attic and is available for NXIVM to have back anytime they want it. I cannot afford to ship it back but they can have Wendy their highest PNW Proctor come get it which I suggested in May of 2009.
Just to set your mind at ease Nancy, I have not shared any of this information with anyone. But I do have to question your comment about how to safe guard your information I have plenty of data this is not true.
As far as the NXIVM confidentiality agreement when I requested my signed copy as they do not give students a copy. I was told by NXIVM attorney at O'Connell and Aronowitz they would not give me a copy without a court order but would make it available for me to view at their office in Albany NY.
I live in Washington state to give you an idea of the games.
I did ask Pam several times if I hired an attorney to view the agreement (not to represent me but to give me legal advice) would they allow this.
To date Pam has refused to answer this question.

Thank you Susan, I see now a little clearer. In the 'onion', information is strictly compartmented, it means that the one who have the whole info is Raniere. It's possible that even the core gang doesn't have all the plot... Does the sisters know what made you leave NXIVM ? Are they totally implied in or are they just fooled ? Do they belong the inner circle at all ? Or does Raniere maintain them in some kind of parallel fantasy world out of the core (i.e. far from the fuckpal devotees) ?

To Sorry for my poor english, I think a lot of the information is compartmentalized and I would agree with your theory that Keith is the keeper of the information and decides who gets what story.
Neither Clare or Sara called me to get my side of the story so what they were told about my leaving is unknown to me.
What I have been told in the past about other higher ranks leaving has been posted on this blog by others. Their suppressive, caught in their ethical breach, didn't want to grow any more, stuck in their issues they stoled from Keith or Nancy or both etc.
Never once was I told that they reacted to Nancy or Keith's behavior, they lost a lot of money in one of Keith's ventures or that in any way it was the "company's fault". It was always the person who left problems.
There was a community meeting that took place in Seattle right after I left and shut down the Tacoma Center. I did not attend but several of my friends did.
In attendance with what I call the NXIVM damage control team was Nancy Salzman, Lauren Salzman, Barbara Jeske, Mark Vincente, Wendy Rosen Brooks (highest ranking PNW leader)
It sounded to me from what I was told by serveral people who attended it was the same kind of thing when other big events happened. The leaders defended Keith and the ones causing the "problem" for NXIVM were blamed.
After the meeting several of my friends left NXIVM based on the leaderships behavior at that meeting.
Personally I don't care that most people are choosing to say in NXIVM. What I don't like is the lies that are passed around and how people taking a course about critical thinking don't get any outside information and when they do, they end up defending Keith and Nancy.
I do miss some of the people I was friends with. Some will not talk to me as I have the plague you know and others it must be a conflict for them as I must be a reminder of their red flags.
One of my dearest friend it would be a conflict of interest for her to talk to me as she is a part of the NXIVM legal team. Lisa if you read this know I miss you dearly and you will always have a place in my heart.

Sara is an example of a woman who doesn't know the value of money or what it means to perform hard work. She's been born with a silver spoon in her mouth, where money is all just a bunch of computer blips that amount to millions of dollars that get transferred to her ATM card. And if anything happens, she can always run back to daddy and mommy or the other members of the Bronfman family who have billions to their name. Hi Susan. Can you confirm if Mark Vicente is the person who recruited Mark Hildreth and Kristin Kreuk into NXIVM? It looks like Vicente is going to have to start putting out some movies that he hasn't since he's joined NXIVM - wonder what confused thought pervaded his mind where he thought Raniere could ever help him make movies - now that the ship is starting to sink and he won't be able to pull in the six figure dough he probably gets from coaching.
Kudos to you Susan! I have been thinking about you since we all talked and wondering how you are doing. It was great to read your post. I think the more of us who share here, the more people will come forward with their story. And hopefully some legal documents!

I helped Kreuk register for her first Intensive. This does not mean I enrolled her, I simply was the person sitting behind the table who had her sign some documents and gave her a name tag. I am almost positive I heard one of the proctors say Vicente enrolled her.

I don't know why, but my intuition (who rarely fools me) tells me that Raniere will start to panic and making more and more mistakes, losing the face in front of his devotees and associates.
And soon the critical mass of defections will be reached.

I know that Kristin is in Mark NXIVM organization but who personally enrolled her I do not know that.
Personally I really like Kristin and my hope for her is she will take in all the data out there on both sides and do what she feel is in her best interest.

I know people on the blog don't like anyone to "feel bad" for anyone on the inside. I do feel bad as I know what it is like to be inside believing you are doing a good thing for people.
I can understand blocking information it is my belief that it's supported amongst the troops to ignore or defend information that you don't want to hear.
I believe Mark moved to NY due to the influence of the inner circle supporting that Keith is the worlds smartest man (in everything it appears) and could help Mark make movies that would move the world.
I saw Mark spend a great deal of time with Nancy when he first came in which worried me as I saw people change when doing this and I was afraid for him.
It is my opinion that Mark is caught up in the furry of the inner circle and believes what he is doing in the world is important. I've also been around him when he comes up for air and questions things. I did this myself a few times before getting "out of the pool".
The good news is very few people are in for the long haul no matter what information surfaces. As things continue to come out in the open, more people will put 2 and 2 together and leave.
It will be a good thing when enough people feel comfortable enough to come forward with their stories.
It's very possible there is more dirt under the rug that when exposed some who have stayed through the last wave of information coming to the surface will leave as the next round of "dirt" will not be a good fit for them.
On another note
When I found out about the money and the sexual / mind game behavior I was in shock. Wearing my rose colored glasses, I believed the NXIVM 9 could meet with Keith (which we did for 3 days) and help him see the errors of his behavior. I was still such a hopeless fool and needed some serious kool-aid detox program.
It wasn't until after the 3rd day of meetings (which I did not attend as I was angry at him for his behavior on day 2) that the NXIVM 9 had the date with reality and realized a change within Keith was not going to happen with our intervention.
I know I have made my fair share of mistakes in my life and I have taken the punches that come along with this.
It is very possible that NXIVM will come after me with a law suit for speaking out. It's a risk I will take and the legal punches will start. I'll keep you all posted to any such event.
It takes what it takes for all of us to step up to the plate of responsibility and acknowledge our mistakes.
Some of my friends have been turned off of the blog by the over the top comments regarding people on the blog, even Keith and Nancy.
I know this blog is about freewill and expression. Over all it's a good thing. My hope is we can keep in mind that there are people out there who are the "effect" of Keith and than his inner circle.
I needed a wake up call to leave NXIVM. After leaving NXIVM I needed the support of my family and friends. I needed professional help.
Please if you can keep this in mind when posting about the people involved in this tangled web.Like me they could / cannot see the truth until their head comes out of "the fog". For some, the fog rolls in and out for years. I did for me, than one day I had my "can see forever bright sunny day wake up call" and I left.

According to a story in today's Schenectady Gazette, Nancy Salzman is suing Continental Airlines for $792,500 because she lost a laptop computer while traveling on the airline in 2003. The claim is based on the "patented training materials" that were on the lost laptop.

BALLSTON SPA — The president of NXIVM is suing Continental Airlines for $792,500 for the loss of a laptop computer in 2003 that contained proprietary training materials.
Nancy Salzman said the information on the laptop had to be recreated and she spent 317 hours over 12 months rewriting educational materials used by her company.
NXIVM Corporation and Executive Success Programs seek to bring students to their full potential for success in business and their lives, according to the company website.
“One of [Salzman’s] primary roles as president is to develop a new, reproducible method of teaching and implementing [NXIVM Founder Keith] Raniere’s patent-pending model that ensures consistent results,” the website states.
In her lawsuit against the airline, Salzman said a Continental representative at Newark Airport in New Jersey confiscated her laptop and assured her she would get it back at the end of the flight in Albany.
She said she had carried the laptop onto the plane and had not checked it for the flight on Nov. 23, 2003.
“She was told it would be returned in Albany when she exited the plane, but she never got it back,” according to the court documents.
Salzman, of Halfmoon, filed her lawsuit this week in state Supreme Court in Saratoga County.
The company has a training site in Colonie.
Salzman said correspondence with the airline did not result in the return of her computer and the “confidential and proprietary information” it contained.
The exact information could not be completely reproduced, according to the lawsuit, but Salzman has spent hundreds of hours working to recreate “Advanced Human Potential Research and Development Modules for executive success programs, trainers and coaches.”
The company has been in the news over the years because some former clients have criticized the program as a form of cult-like brainwashing.
No court date has been set for the lawsuit that was filed this week.

That patent is still pending because they are still prosecuting it with the patent office. A "rejection" by the patent office is not necessarily the end of the process. It just means they have to makes changes, make arguments, and pay more fees. This could go on for years, which may be what they want anyway.

Although it did not originate locally, it appears that its "media" (radio shows) originates right here in town.
It's called THE TWELVE VISIONS PARTY, with various offshoot brands (doesn't that sound familiar?), including NEO THINK RADIO.
Its got all the usual cult qualifiers: a guru founder that everyone worships for his brilliance; ambiguous language that means zero but it keeps getting repeated to the believers; a need to buy-in (pay) to learn the true secrets; member by member recruitment cycle, multi level marketing, the promise of a better way, etc.
This one goes even crazier off the deep end with a political party (they claimm they will be in the White House by 2016) plus some goofy "extend your life forever" shit (no doubt a part of the MLM sales offerings).
Sounds like they took some of Raniere's Consumer Buyline, added some Tea Party politics and a dash of Amway consumer sales.
I see them starting to get listed by the Cult Watchdog organizations.
Hopefully their guru is not as evil as Raniere, but you never know. His style will no doubt play with a healthy segment of the Dumb & Dumber crowd that he'll make a living at it, I am sure.

The Gazette will be printing a correction to the lost laptop story. The true value of the lost proprietary information was $9.72, not $97,000. They apologize for any confusion.
