In Susan's recent deposition, Crockett claimed that when Keith stated in the video that "people have died for my beliefs" and "I've had people killed for my beliefs," that Keith was referring to the LaBaron kidnap/murder case in Mexico.
Susan points out that Keith made the statement on video on April 23, 2009. However, Eric LaBaron was not kidnapped until May 2, 2009 and his older brother Benjamin and Luis Jose Wittmar were kidnapped (and later murdered) on July 7, 2009.
Naturally, this shows that Keith could not have been referencing the LaBaron murders, and that Crockett is simply telling an outright lie.

Now that Ms. Dones is representing herself, she is doing what all of us who aren't lawyers would probably do. She is just telling her story through the court case and hoping the judge will allow it. I give her alot of credit and I hope it works out for her.

I spent year in a cult and it has taken me a long time to recover. I want to share some of my experience and hope of what I have learned. I have a few questions and a few thoughts.
What could these people being sued possible know that all this money is being spent to shut them up? NXIVM states it is their trade secrets they are protecting but I have to say this appears to be pure bull shit.
So far I have not seen anything exposed in the press that would harm NXIVM business from a “Trade Secret” point of view. It might slow down this cult like group sales due to behaviors being exposed but I have yet to see any “trade secret” exposed. NXIVM is most likely spending millions of dollars which appear to come from the Bronfman sister to silence these people through the court system.
Cults like groups with money use the legal system as a tool to not only punish their fallen flock but to make an example to their followers to “leave in silence or else”. Because most people are afraid to become involved in sharing their experience, the true is harder to expose. From the unknowing eye it can be made to appear like a few dissatisfied people with an ax to grind, which usually is not the case.
The leaders of cult like groups do not really care about their people. They care about money, power and control and their people who are really just the vehicle to obtain what the leader wants. It appears that Raniere wants sex, money to gamble, silence those who speak against him, power, control and to prove to his flock that he is the most brilliant man on earth.
There is a very well laid out plan to expose who is vulnerable to mind control. It is usually through some type of training or religious following to find out who is ripe for the picking and what can be extracted from them. The leaders of cult like groups know this very well and insert this plan to use coercive persuasion mind control techniques into whatever the groups mission is; save the world, be next to God, enlightenment, walk away residual income to name a few.
The United Negro College Fund used “A mind is a terrible thing to waste” for years in their campaign for contributions to their fund. For cult like groups to “waste a mind” means the mind can be controlled by the group and their value (money, recruitment and or time donated to the group) can then be extracted by the group to use for thing such a silencing their fallen, to “take care” of the leader who appears penniless, have a few or just the leader make all the income of the group while others are broke and struggle financially and be taken care of by the group, to name a few.
Due to fear cleverly installed while in the cult like group, most will not come forward upon leaving. Instead they wait on the side lines for the few brave ones to get the shit beat out of them. This happened with the civil rights movement when it first started. Many people knew in their hearts that discrimination was wrong but due to their fears of what would happen to their business, their family, their standing in their communities, would they be harmed physically, maybe even killed lead many to turn a blind eye to what was happening. When the few made it safe enough than a few more joined in and finally enough step forward to get the attention of the world and this caused the change. This happened with Gandhi and other the Civil Rights Movements throughout the world.
It took very brave souls of all races to step up to the plate and work to begin to right a wrong of racial discrimination and we still have healing to do in this regard. When will you step forward to right the wrong of what NXIVM is really doing? How many people have to be beaten with threats of legal action, law suits and the “unspoken but known threats” that silence you?
By coming forward to help expose this group for what it really is, you will save hundreds if not thousands of “minds” from being wasted. Yours could have been saved if you had only known the real intent of this group before buying their class and buying their mission. The only question is how many people have to get the shit beat out of them before you find your voice?
Now the ball is in your court, what are you going to do?
Most of us, if given a choice, will attempt to live our lives as we see fit. We'll make choices, bad and good, and live with the ressults of those choices. It amazes me the sheer number of people who will join a group, NXIVM or any other of the many cult like groups that exist, and then let this group tell them how to live their life.
NXIVM, at least as far as I know, tells its followers what to eat, what vitamins to take, how long their hair should be, how much they should weigh. Hell, they even let them know if they should "cleanse" and when to give themselves an enema! And, through mind control, these people simply do what they're told. It's amazing...The above list is just the icing on the cake, it doesn't include the major issues NXIVM upholds, such as not paying taxes.
If any die hard cult member reads this, it's okay to get your haircut! It's alright if you want to get a Big Mac! You are in America and in this country, YOU ARE ALLOWED TO THINK FOR YOURSELF!!!

Thank you for making this very clear 1:48. It is real growth when you find the courage to extract yourself from a delusion like NXIVM, which uses very sophisticated techniques actually, altho simplistic and cheap they are extremely powerful.

I have loosely followed his story because it has carried on for so goddamn long, but hopefully- judges will begin to disallow his antics, and the truth about this sociopath will be exposed.
