Yes: he's manipulative fuck. Another example, is how he uses this idea that great ethical leaders of the past were always met with opposition until their ideas were eventually accepted, and uses current events as proof of his beliefs and movement. Of course, anyone with actual critical thinking skills can see through such a transparent rationalization by just studying the history of those leaders, and then compare the opposition they received for what they believed and did, compared to the type of opposition Raniere receives because of what he believes and does.
Although, one is likely to assume that if Espians weren't brainwashed like people in other more destructive cults - yes, there are, and have been more destructive cults than NXIVM, as their profiles all are molded by the personality of their sociopathic leaders - they would be able see it...it's highly more likely that they simply do not know the man because the inner core hides him away from lower ranking members as some mythical figure who is misunderstood by non-Espians, which aren't the real reasons. In the rarb.org thread, Raniere said "NXIVM isn't for everyone..." and then listed several reasons. But, like the manipulative fuck he is, it wasn't for the reasons stated. That is not THEIR fault. No one deserves to be manipulated.

All I think you left out are the various parts of our so-called "justice system" and our "governmental systems" that have done absolutely nothing to put an end to NXIVM and Raniere. This includes, but certainly is not limited to, the following:
- P. David Soares, the Albany County DA who allowed NXIVM to infiltrrate his office and gain access to documents that they wanted to use in their civil lawsuits against Ross and Ohara - and who also filed a criminal charge against Ohara that was immediately dismissed by the judge that was assigned to hear that case;
- James Murphy, the Saratoga County DA who, in response to a request from Joe Bruno, tried to get new criminal charges brought aginst Ohara after the Albany County charge against him was dismissed - and who is currently overseeing a "criminal investigation" concerning the so-called NXIVM Nine;
- Richard Hartunian, the local U.S. Prosecutor who has done nothing in response to numerous reports concerning NXIVM's ongoing illegal activities - and who has failed to investigate Soares or Murphy;
- The IRS and the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance, both of which have done nothing in response to the numerous reports they've received about the tax evasion schemes and money laundering schemes of NXIVM, Raniere and the cult's top leaders;
- The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, which has totally ignored numerous reports about NXIVM's violation of a variety of immigration and currency laws;
- Andrew Cuomo, the current NYS Attorney General and soon to be NYS Governor, who has done absolutely nothing to rescue Gaelen from the evil clutches of Raniere and Kristen Keefe;
- Robert Littlefield, the local bankruptcy court judge who has allowed Raniere and his minions to persecute Natalie, Ohara and Bouchey in his courtroom;
- The Town of Halfmoon, which has turned a blind eye to the conversion of the old Romano's restaurant into a NXIVM clubhouse; and
- Last, but certainly not least, the numerous attorneys who have been bought off by the millions of dollars they've received from the Bronfmans - and who have helped Raniere and his followers silence those who are trying to expose Raniere for the sick fuck that he is.

It is easy for Raniere to say he was involved and responsible for the LeBaron family kidnappings but he says a lot of things that cannot be verified.
Raniere is passing the LeBaron family story off as to why he said people have died and I've had people killed for my beliefs.
People will buy this story as reality without any proof because it is plausible. Mark Vincent was known to be in Mexico making a film about Mexico violence. "InLak’ech NXIVM's non-violent group had already been formed. The Mexican members of NXIVM had spoken about kidnapping and what a problem this is in Mexico, The LeBaron family refused to pay the ransom and later the kidnappers came back and people were killed.
Raniere would have gotten away with the lie but someone found out the dates don’t match up of when Raniere made his statements of having people killed and the link to the Lebaron family kidnapping / murders happened.
Crockett either bought the story hook, line and sinker or used it as a weapon knowing it was a lie.

Meanwhile, the latest Susan Dones filing that John linked to in his blog post is even more bad news for nxivm. The judge has already turned down two requests by the nxivm legal team to seal or strike Susan's testimony. If Judge Lynch continues to do the right thing and refuses to silence Susan and gives her the opportunity to defend herself in court, nxivm will be hit by a shitstorm from which they will never recover and could likely spell the end of nxivm as we know it. Susan has raised very serious accusations of consumer fraud/misrepresentation, tax evasion, and forgery, and she appears to have evidence that could prove one or more of these accusations.
Quietly, Susan has amassed written testimony from multiple witnesses who happen to be primarily ex-nxivm members from the west coast. Many of these witnesses are willing to testify in court on Susan's behalf, if necessary. She's not alone, which is MORE VERY bad news for nxivm.
Okay, everybody can now go back to arguing about religion.

This one sure doesn't seem to be, and our ragtag offensive against WikiLeaks is doing little except making us look helpless against a pipsqueak. After all, even a "war against terror" might be unwinnable but still manage to minimize terrorist attacks.
