I must start out by saying I have never spoke to, or met or even exchanged a simple how the fuck are you in e-mails, phone conversations or secret messages stuffed up a duck's ass in Congress Park with Croak,but I know of him. 
Everything I’ve ever heard about him from former clients and lawyers who have had any dealing with him tell me he is an honest, talented and above all a compassionate attorney who has done a fair amount of real Pro-Bono work.He is also the attorney on record for Joe O’Hara and other NXIVM related cases. In O’Hara’s case he asked for and received orders of protection for three innocent souls when the crazed NXIVM hit-man Steven "Rambo" Rombom sought to harass, threaten and stalk people, O’Hara didn’t even know in his case. He was then able to exclude them from forced depositions by NXIVM’s legal henchman.
All in all I think it’s safe to say that Croak is one of the good guys.
While lawyers for the evil empire rack up millions upon millions from the degenerate, destructive and perverted empire of NXIVM, who then wash their hands at the courthouse door, and go home and kiss their wives and tuck their children into bed and in the case of Coffey, plan his next summer escape to Italy, honest lawyers like Croak not only don’t make a dime but end up owing thousands in loans made to clients like Bouchey.
Bouchey had originally hired Croak to represent her in her bankruptcy. He then caused a media sensation by publicly calling NXIVM a cult and that was one of the nicer things he said. He then for whatever reason “loaned” Bouchey 20 grand for {I’m not making this up} media coaching {the company is here} and to hire a public relations firm {the company is here}.
So what did she do? Fire him for starters here

Now I’m not a Lawyer or particularly well educated but if I were you Barb I would ask for my money back from these two firms. Really 20 grand for PR, what fucking PR, and what media coaching? What for 10 grand you get a 5 minute spot on a Sunday morning puff piece that five people watch and 10 grand more to be dragged through the press with a gag order in your month?
You want good PR? Work in a soup kitchen, go to nursing school, work overnight in a women’s homeless shelter. I’ll write about it for free

These practices are not sound at all. If a university professor wanted to test and develop an educational program along these lines, the university's institutional review board (IRB) would prevent them. The reason wouldn't be because they have no humanitarian vision but because nearly all scientific disciplines (from neurology, psychology, sociology, anthropology, etc) see having a loving attachment to a trustworthy caregiver as the essential starting point for human growth and knowledge. For what it is worth, most major religions (and cultures) posit something along this line although they may take different approaches to the same central idea. Instead of starting from this affective relationship to gradually broaden the child's interaction with the world and all who are in it, Vanguard's program isolates and dominates the child from a set of pre-existing assumptions formed from the adult world (ie producers and parasites). The child's experience of the world is hermetically sealed and REPRESENTATIONS of the world, rather than ACTUAL experiences are provided.
-representations of attached caregiving
-representations of language and culture
-representations of sound (ie recorded music separated from those producing it and why they do it)
-representations of childhood friendship and experiential play (because only children who have had identical programming are allowed to come into contact with the child.)
Its all very frightening to anyone who knows even a smidgeon about educational psychology, neuropsychology or child development. IMO what such a program will produce is a child who disassociates with the world and himself, not unlike the condition Keith exists in with his intelligence + meglomania. His educational program is such a perfect expression of his internal life and how his narcissism pushes him to try to change others to fit his psychological needs. Wouldn't we all want to make the world conform to our needs and preferences? At some point, though, psychologically healthy adults understand that this is not possible and put their energies toward tasks that do not attempt to destroy others' free will. While I feel very sorry for this man, I also think that some real light needs to be shone on him so that he doesn't hurt anyone, especially an innocent child.

I'd bet she was coerced into saying that because she started looking into some of these allegations against Raniere and asking questions (her participation in "injustice" against him). Agree with earlier posts that if this woman had any remorse or real concern for protecting other victims she would be talking to criminal authorities, not gearing up for a media campaign.

It’s intense. The story, which includes deception, sex, celebrities, heiresses, spiritual leaders, gambling and lots and lots of money is unsettling. The challenge is to find the core of the story while telling the truth — no matter how hard, ugly or disturbing. My client is risking everything so other people won’t get hurt like she did.
I’ve never done crises management before so I advised my client to hire a PR firm that specialized in these types of difficult cases. We are working with one of the best who has experience with politicians and other controversial clients who are frequently in the news.
While it’s always important to have your facts, statistics, dates and stories straight for any type of media, it’s crucial when you’re dealing with the legal system, people’s reputations and the history of wrongdoing to be exposed in an investigative piece. To keep things in order we’re creating a TimeLine and fact sheet with supporting documents as proof.
Although your life or lifeblood may not depend on getting the facts and figures right it’s a great exercise when preparing for your media appearances to put all of this in order. You will be a much more credible and valuable guest if you can bring not only your perspective, but a larger world view that supports your area of expertise to your media appearances. UPDATE: Granville girl charged with writing 62-name 'kill list'

GRANVILLE, N.Y. -- At an age when most girls are all excited about going to the mall, a twelve-year-old Washington County girl is under arrest, charged with composing a list of 62 classmates under the heading "Kill List."
School Superintendent Mark Bessen tells NEWS10 that another student saw the list in the seventh-graders' notebook and notified officials.
The girl, whom we are not identifying because of her age, was charged with aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor, and was suspended from school for five days.
There was no answer Wednesday at the Granville home the girl shares with her grandmother, although their car was in the driveway.
Residents are divided on whether the girl represented a real threat. One man told NEWS10, "I know she said some crazy things."
A local couple, Billi Jo Varney and Robert Rathbun, said their daughter, who is about the same age, stopped hanging out with the girl because her personality seemed to change about a year ago. But a woman who knows the girl and many of her classmates said, "She's a good kid, never had any problem with her."
The superintendent says some parents were angry about the incident but many showed sympathy for the girl. Bessen will hold a hearing on Thursday to decide whether and when to allow the girl to rejoin her classes.

Yet, where there is a written reply to an objection, there must surely be an accordingly documented protest; and indeed, Mr Croak himself refers to three such objections filed against him in his very reply. Where are these three documents, the protests filed against Mr Croak by NXIVM, the Bronfmans, and Ms Bouchey? In his reply to the one by the Bronfmans, Mr Croak clearly mentions that a separate reply will be filed at least in response to Ms Bouchey’s objection. Where is this mentioned reply by Mr Croak? Furthermore, are there other documents that may shed a fair amount of light on the matter; and if so, where are these?
Although, many of this blog’s readers, the judges of public opinion in this case, may have access to pacer or other such sources for these documents, some do not or cannot for various reasons; and so, it is that we rely on the often-mentioned promise of this blog to offer and provide us with fair and factual information so that we each can make accurately informed and just judgements on the matters at hand. In such a spirit of honesty, I would like to ask this blog to provide us with all the documents relating to this matter and all its factions, just as we are accustomed to; and thus allow us to reach an opinion commendable to the tenets of a society created as equals. And for sure, I’m certain, after all, Mr Croak would agree with me, for he is but an honourable man.
