Barbara Bouchey was deposed in the NXIVM v. Ross Et Al case by the attorneys who represent three co-defendants: i.e., Stephanie Franco, Morris Sutton and Rochelle Sutton.It was a very interesting little chat.
Also present with the boatload of Attorneys were Clare Bronfman and the Crazy nurse.
Her deposition took place on October 29, 2009 at the offices of Rick Ross's attorney in Albany, NY. The Depositions did not go into the official court docket . Bouchey’s testimony from that earlier deposition was unknown to anyone who did not attend the depo. On December 17 2010 John Falzone a senior associate in the Litigation Department of Latham & Watkins' New Jersey office attached the transcript of the deposition to a motion in NY there by making it public. The reason he did this are known only to god and his bartender. I spend hour upon hour surfing through Pacer for NXIVM filing and downloaded it .Realizing what I had and understanding that Bouchey was testifying under oath about crimes that people had committed for NXIVM I immediately turned over copies to numerous government agencies. That done I then sent copies to numerous Media outlets both foreign and domestic .Of course I have no way of knowing if any of these organizations were already aware of the filing.

The leader of an Albany "cult" funded by the Bronfman booze fortune urged followers to dodge taxes, used charity cash to buy a piano and sent advisers to "sweep" one detractor's bank account and break into another's home, according to a new court filing.
The papers target Keith Raniere, the leader of the self-help group NXIVM -- who is backed by the million-dollar trust funds of Seagram's heiresses Sara and Clare Bronfman.
He also allegedly:
* Urged followers to "not have a tax ID number, [and not] file their tax returns."
* Bought a $40,000 piano with charity funds earmarked for the Ethical Humanitarian Foundation.
* Urged followers to "sweep" detractor Rick Ross' bank account and break into the home of Ross' ex-girlfriend.
The papers, bizarrely filed by NXIVM's own lawyers, are part of a deposition given by Barbara Bouchey, Raniere's former lover who was once the Bronfman sisters' financial planner. NXIVM lawyers have called her claims "specious."
At page 50 Barb notes that Keith said that his physical body was a manifestation of universal cause and effect. That is true. If you eat too much you will get fat. Thanks Keith!

page 63 of 83 in “The Best Part” has a letter Joe O’Hara’s wrote to Nancy Salzman terminating (effective immediately) his services with NXIVM (and all the other “shell” companies O'Hara knew of at the time thatNXIVM had).
After conferring with his legal counsel and his law firms insurers he states he must send Salzman written notification concerning some of the reasons for termination.
From the O'Hara Termination Letter
“ During the course of providing legal services to you, your various companies and various individuals associated with those companies, I became aware of - and informed you about - a variety of activities that I believe to be illegal.[ILLEGAL PEOPLE, YES HE SAID ILLEGAL] (Note: Although some of those activities admittedly involve “gray areas” of the law, others involved, in my professional judgement clear violations of a variety of civil and criminal statues and regulations). Notwithstanding my advice to the contrary, you, your various companies and various individuals associated with those companies have continued to engage in those activities - and, in several instances, have even expanded same.”
Well there you have it people another person who has insider knowledge of illegal actions within NXIVM land. Another person dragged through the court system by NXIVM and their followers after leaving NXIVM.

As I type this from my home in Los Angeles, I marvel at the power of the Internet, not only to unite people across the globe, but also to draw them deeper into a local story. First of all, I had never in my life heard of NXIVM until a week ago, and the blogger who informed me about the cult lives in Sweden.
So how’d I get here? It was your blog article on the Saratoga Waldorf School. You see, I’m a former Waldorf teacher and the Swedish blogger is a former Waldorf student. So we belong to a loose cyber-confederation of marauding Waldorf Critics who roma the Internet for anything that popos up remotely connected wwith Waldorf. So that goes to exaplin why the comments on that particular blog topic went in the direction of attacking Waldorf education, since you attracted the some of the motley crew.
However, beyond Waldorf, what also drew me in is my familiarity with the area because I went to college nearby. So imagine my embarrassment when I discover that Keith Raniere and I are fellow alumni of RPI! (I was class of ’70, so I’m a good 12 years older than Keith. )
So now I’m really hooked with Waldorf and RPI, but things come is threes don’t they? Yes I can say like on an infomercial: “But, wait there’s more!” and maybe this 3rd connection can actually become my modest contribution to you or anyone else reading here to do more historical research.
And that 3rd connection is . . . the Bronfmans.
My immediate reaction upon first reading that name in your blog was to exclaim: “Oh my God, they’re still at it. Wow!” Now I don’t know if it’s genetic, epigenetic or morphogenetic, but something is being passed down through the family line that causes Bronfman heiresses to fund dubious New Age charismatic oversexed megalomaniacal figures out to save the world by getting laid.

OK, let us enter Mr. Peabody’s Way Back Machine as Sherman sets the year for 1981 in Philadelphia. Does the name Ira Einhorn mean anything to you? If not, I know you will recognize his lawyer’s name, Arlen Specter, now US Senator from PA.
Ira Einhorn, who called himself “Unicorn” because that’s what Einhorn means in German, was getting his court date set for the murder of his girlfriend Holly Maddux in 1977 in Philadelphia. He had stuffed her corpse into a trunk, shoved it into an attic where it was finally discovered by police in 1979.
You may know Ira Einhorn as this charismatic hippy figure from the 60’s who helped organized the first Earth Day in 1970. He knew how to schmooze, especially the rich and well-connected, which he did in his hometown of Philadelphia. Arlen Specter was then running for senator and he needed the money support from the many rich and influential figures who were coming forth to testify that Ira Einhorn was a peace-loving hippie who could not possibly have committed this grisly murder. In fact, Ira said that he was framed by the CIA because he knew too much about psychic warfare and secret government projects to exploit these super-secret and psychedelic weapons.
Anyway, Arlen Specter got Ira’s bail reduced from a million down to $40,000. Then a woman stepped forward to pay that bail. Her name was Barbara Bronfman, a fierce supporter and admirer of Ira, who believed in his innocence and his value to humanity as a savior of the world. Now Barbara herself was not a blood Bronfman; she had married Charles Bronfman, who I believe is the uncle of the present Bronfman heiresses cavorting with Keith.
As soon as Ira gets out in 1981, he books a flight for London and in less than a week he is out of the jurisdiction of the US and thus begins his 16 year odyssey on the lam in various countries: UK, Ireland, UK redux, Sweden and finally France where he is tracked down and arrested in 1997, but it’s still 4 years before he’s extradited to the US. He was convicted or murder in absentia in 1993 and is now serving a life sentence in a Pennsylvania prison.
So I would urge you, John, or any of your supporters here to research the incredible parallels between the Barbara Bronfman-Ira Einhorn case and the present one.
Oh, I almost forgot. It turns out that Barbara was actually still financially supporting Ira until 1988. I still don’t know how she didn’t get arrested for aiding and abetting a fugitive, but those Bronfmans seem more untouchable than, well, Al Capone.

It really is a new age of information. Reading the actual deposition sounds like NXIVM insiders conspired to set up a wild, drug scheme plot to explain away Kristin Snyder's suicide, er, disappearance. Sorta like O.J. Simpson's story on Nicole's death. But reading the Albany Times Union story makes it sound like this drug ring involvement NXIVM insider's proposed was plausible...not an obvious attempted cover-up. So, thanks, John, for conveying the facts not the media twist. And, Times Union, for shame!

6:34 pm BRAVO for speaking up for Barb. I have known her for more than 14 years - before NXIVM, during and after. (And I've never posted here before). Barb is not the self serving person this blog has portrayed her to be. Trust me, what she is doing now is for the benefit of everyone hurt by this group - she simply cannot speak at this time.
I have witnessed her current life and she is spending day, night and every second in between defending herself from non stop lawsuits from NXIVM. I'm serious...she hasn't taken a day off in nearly 2 years. She could have walked away and kept quiet and moved on with her life. She could have moved to another state and started earning a million a year all over. Was feeling somewhat sorry for the Bronfman girls in all this UNTIL noting in the Bouchey deposition transcript that "Clare Bronfman entered the room." That was in October of 1999. Clare entered the room near the start, according to John's post, her sister, Sara, was also present during the depo, and they sat there listening to gory, indisputable details of the abhorrent activities of Keith Raniere and his minions, and in the near two years hence they have both continued to fully support Keith Raniere and NXIVM, not only financially but to the extent of publically declaring that they will defend the "injustices" against Raniere to the end.
WTF?! Have the idle rich nothing better to do with their money or time than idolize a confessed killer, scammer, brain washing, money laundering (ah, ha!), womanizing, pedophile, cult-leader, lunatic, power- monger?!

Well it's finally happened. Rainbow Cultural Gardens is up and running in Northern Ireland. It's being ran by Kim Constable with help from her ex-Rugby star husband Ryan Constable. They have enlisted their own kids full time, and removed them from mainstream school, plus just got theit first customers. additional interest has been shown by former Big Brother contestant, fame-wannabe, Orlaith McAllister for her two children.

BB is far from a hero.
How many people's lives did she ruin, how many people did she convince to participate in this pyramid scheme?
She was laughing all the way to the bank taking her 30% commissions and probably still would be today if she wasn't jilted by her lover.
She absolutely knew what she was doing and knew it was either illegal or borderline so. She was a leader of the cult/pyramid scheme not an inoccent brainwashed victim.
How she is still allowed to manage money is ludicrous. FINRA is a joke if they haven't pulled her license.
Personally, I don't buy her story about how she signed the loan, but everyone knew it was really a loan to Kieth. She is a professional planner with adequate knowledge of the law (and common sense). Raniere appears to be a sociopath. Such people can never truly internalize the depth and breadth of human emotions. They want and many times force others to fit into and be molded by their world - Raniere is particularly destructive because he uses thought reform techniques to do this - when their perspective is the exception, diseased by a willful ignorance of where they come from, and where they are going.

Introduction
I have reviewed a manual for a 16 day, ten hours per day; large group awareness training called "Executive Success Programs," which also calls itself "ESP."
There is much in the content and format of ESP that is not at all original, and is quite similar to aspects of a number of cults and cult-like organizations with which I am familiar.
Mind Control and the ESP Intensive
Mind control represents indoctrination without informed consent. It relies on calculated strategies to mislead and to misinform. It particularly relies on emotional manipulation.
Long hours:
A group using mind control will attempt to maximize the influence of group leaders on participants, at the expense of any ongoing influence of friends and relatives. One way to quickly effect this change is to maximize the amount of time that group participants are with group leaders. ESP Intensive participants are signing up for sixteen ten-hour days, which will either be experienced successively, or in five-day segments. Although three hours a day are allotted for lunch and dinner breads as days go on.
Of further concern, the manual states in Italics, "We find our students don't want to leave at the end of the day!" Since participants have been experiencing a day scheduled to start at 8 AM and end at 10 PM, under usual circumstances, most participants would be tired and eager to go to see friends and family, and get a night's rest to prepare for another long day starting at 8 AM. This suggests to me that emotional appeals or other manipulation may occur to get everyone to stay around even longer.
Limitations in ability to get feedback from friends and family: Participants are told to promise not to tell non-participants of what they learn in the Intensive, as well as its methods. They will be unable to respond to routine questions they would be expected to receive, such as, "What did you learn today?" or "What's going on at the seminar you are attending?" This serves as to distance the participant from his ongoing relationships. It also serves to prevent the participant from getting any feedback about what he is experiencing from people in the outside world, some of whom care about the participant very much.

Secrecy:
Participants are told to promise not to share with non-participants their recollection of content or methods of the Intensive. Participants are mislead into feeling guilty for being a "promise breaker" if they talk about their personal experiences over the course of many hours. This effects a partial shutdown of communication with friends and family, and serves to strengthen a common bond with the other secret-sharers.
Effect of idiosyncratic vocabulary on communication: Further communication shutdown with friends and family occurs as numerous English words are redefined to fit the peculiar meanings of group leaders. The result is communications that are near incomprehensible to outsiders (e.g.: The mission of the human team is to build value and to uphold each other). This serves to embed the participant into the group and isolate him from outsiders.
Pre-emptive neutralization of criticism of the group by participants and their family/friends early on:
What the group calls "shifter strategies" is given much attention in the Intensive. It is clearly taught that these represent undesirable behaviors that should be met with disapproval by other group members. Then end result is that if a participant criticizes things that the group does, he is a "suppressive." Since it is likely that group outsiders will perceive aspects of the group's activities as "manipulative" or as a "cult," these two words are used as the sole examples of "abstract terms" that a Shifter will use. T
he clear purpose of this didactic exercise by the group is to encourage participants to ignore friends and relatives who are likely to criticize the group using these exact words. Finally, the Intensive attempts to impart a sense of superiority to participants simply for learning Espian theory ("Espians understand the model, but non-Espians do not"); such a sense of superiority would encourage participants to discourage criticism of their activity from others.
Paramilitary rituals and regalia:
Paramilitary structure enhances the ability of leaders to control participants through a "chain of command." [Keith Raniere] the leader's title as "Vanguard" is a word with military origins, and participants are routinely expected to "thank" Vanguard at the end of each and every session. One's rank in the group is constantly visible by scarf color and number of stripes on the scarf, and this is reinforced by a ritual two-handed handshake where the higher rank person's hands go on top. Advancement includes ability to be a "coach," which appears to be a monitor, (sometimes-daily monitor), for members lower in rank. Clearly a submissive relationship of sorts to one's superior in rank is promoted.
Required daily contact with superiors is framed as personal growth: Since the paramilitary regalia makes it clear who is superior to who in rank, ongoing participants are required to make a daily brief phone call to "check-in" with a "coach." Promotion to a higher level scarf cannot occur without approval from one's coach, who becomes part of the group's eyes-and-ears to see if participants are, for example, becoming suppressive. Moreover, promotion in this group is iced over with the title of showing "persistence" to a "long-term commitment." Since daily checking in like this is an unnatural thing to do for most grown-ups, any discomfort will most certainly be met with the confrontation that they "need to be able to keep a long-term commitment."

Cult-Like Elements of the ESP Intensive
Pretensions to Science:
In an attempt to instant credibility in this era of technology triumphs, this group describes its activities as "technology" and "science." (Other groups have done the same in the past). Yet there is no evidence of any validation using scientific methods of anything the group does. The group does make use of "pop psychology" theories, tips for greater efficiency, gimmicks to impress others, and other notions that have already been widely publicized in seminars and books over the decades - so this is hardly technology that the group can claim credit for. The group also presents gross oversimplifications of psychological theory and of the human condition (e.g.: "All anger is created as a result of a conflict in values.") The group's leader may have coined some maxims with a ring of truth, but again, this is not science.
Unsubstantiated extravagant claims:
As "proof" of the value of their "technology," the group claims unprecedented results training over 400,000 individuals. Yet their website only comes up with a few dozen testimonials. That's about one testimonial for every 10,000 participants.
Self-Serving Morality:
Whether cult-like organizations claim to be religions, philosophies, etc., each one has it's own self-created moral system, which is typically self-serving. The emphasis here is on how violating the pledge involves the participant in hurting himself by telling others anything about what he has been doing and learning for hours on end. The participant is counseled that to tell others is "compromising [his] inner honesty and integrity." There is no mention of how this secrecy essentially benefits the group leaders, who are shielded from criticism from outsiders when no one knows exactly what they are doing.
Messianic pretensions without discussing the obvious profit motive: "
The mission of ESP is to develop an integrated ethical framework of human experience to stop the destruction of value in the world and move humanity forward to remove fear-based activities from the world." ESP is presented as a means of saving the world from "hunger, theft, dishonesty, envy and insecurity." After stating this, participants are urged to "pledge" to enroll people in ESP. Good intentions are praise-worthy, but only to a point. Prior to the world being saved, the only guaranteed result of recruitment and continued seminar enrollment is up-front revenue generation. The fees are high, and speak for themselves. Members are encouraged to advance in "rank," which requires, among other things, more courses, which means more fees for ESP.

Self-coronation of leaders:
Participants are instructed to address the founder of ESP as "Vanguard." The manual I reviewed implies he is the source of all the "technology" that the group has, since no one else is mentioned. There appears to be no dissenting views, and his philosophies are often presented in the third person plural "We believe." The ESP website suggests there is now a queen bee of sorts, as a Ms. Salzman, who was a Senior Proctor in this manual, as being upgraded to be the group's sole "Prefect." All of this is soft peddled to participants as analogous to calling your dentist (who finished a universally recognized course of study) by the title "doctor."
Success in ESP is about becoming a more thorough Espian and not an Executive:
Although the program seems to promote skills so that participants could become executives if they wished, the thrust of the program is clearly to get participants to spend continuing hours taking ESP courses, signing up friends and family to attend seminars, gaining scarf-status in the Espian world, adopting Espian meanings to English words, etc. All of these achievements are essentially irrelevant to goings on in the "real world." Calling friends and relatives to set up appointments to recruit them into ESP is presented to participants as the way to practice getting "a real edge in relationships" and "impressing a special person."
Possible negative effects of the ESP Intensive
The ESP Intensive appears to be a gateway that encourages participants to attend further training sessions or seminars, and get friends and family to do the same.
In a general sense, the goal is integration of individuals into a subculture - however, a particular kind of subculture. It is a kingdom of sorts, ruled by a Vanguard, who writes his own dictionary of the English language, has his own moral code, and the ability to generate taxes on subjects by having them participate in his seminars.
It is a kingdom with no physical borders, but with psychological borders - influencing how his subjects spend their time, socialize, and think. Increasing involvement serves to increasingly distance participants from their relationships in a manner that is slow and subtle, and thus not at all obvious to them.

Any legal eagles here with insight on what constitutes unlawful psychological experimentation on a child and whether a case could be made for that with Gayland's (sic) rearing as portrayed in BB's deposition? Seems an awful lot like a controlling puppet master is overseeing that child to present him as another of Raniere's "accomplishments". Granted, lots of parents play Mozart for the kiddies or teach them a second language at a young age - but this kind of fanaticism shows no respect for the individuality of that child as a human being or for his social development. Mental abuse is so much harder to prove than physical and there is less precedent for intervention, but is the information in this deposition enough to at least instigate an investigation? Hell - if nothing else, if the poor kid is being used as a PR pawn for opening up Rainbow Cultural Gardens worldwide - that's just exploitative. If Kristen K is actually the "mother" of this child, she should be ashamed of herself (if she's even capable of understanding that emotion at this point).

If Bouchey has information she is not turning over to authorities about criminal behavior within NXIVM, the upper level leaders and members which appears to be mostly the Bronfam sister, one needs to ask why?
Why wait until a "trail" that might take years to happen. It appears that NXIVM knows, oh so well, how to use the legal system and a trail might not ever happen; they will drop their case instead. If someone has broken the law any agreement in place to remain confidential is void. NXIVM will delay any trail that would have such exposure.
How many more "rich" kids will get sucked into Raniere's web during the "wait till a trail" to expose the truth happens. How many more parents will lose their children to Raniere and Salzman brain washing? How many more woman will fall victim to his sexual prey? How many more will enroll into this cult? How many more will step over the line from grey to doing illegal things for Raniere due to his influence and brain washing techniques, while waiting for Bouchey to have the right venue to expose any wrong doing?
Spending all the money she has and the countless hours of working on her legal battles would come to an end if there was in deed evidence to take Raniere and his followers down by the authorities.
In doing so those currently or in the near further involved in the courts with NXIVM could move on with their lives. Those who are still under the "spell" of Raniere and Salzman would have no more exposure to their brain washing and could move on with their lives. Those who are spending their last dime on NXIVM trainings will be released from the bondage they find themselves in attempting to grow themselves personally and professionally under the mentorship of these false leaders. Bouchey could move on with her life.
One has to ask, WTF is she thinking. The government isn't it the one she should be going to? New York has a new AG who has not had countless contributions given to him by the Bronfman sister. If there is tax evasion, why not the IRS?
One has to ask. WTF was she thinking when she heard that members of NXIVM inner circle were breaking into people's house. Did she go to the authorities than? No, she continued to support this man “mission” and his bed.
Why did she keep silent about Raniere losing 1.7 million of her money the "next" time he started the same scam knowing it was her clients who were involved in the market with him losing 60+ million. Not that the Bronfman sister are victims here. If they would of left after the first round of exposure of Raniere secret life than, maybe, yes. Not after so much time has passed and they still continue to support Raniere in his crimes against humanity.
Bouchey had the Bronfman records right under her nose. When she found out about the piano being bought by foundation funds why not go to the government about this? Why wait for trail?
It make sense now why NXIVM/Bronfman have been attempting to have Bouchey return HER COPY of their files and will lie to the court about it saying she never returned their records. It's not like they don't have their files, court records show Bouchey had copies made as she is required to, returned their records and kept a copy for herself as she is supposed to do. It would appear they don't want any evidence of “wrong doing” when the Feds do finally do come in.
If Bouchey is unwilling, which it appears she is, someone who knows how to go about this, turn this over to the AG and her boxes can be subpoenaed and gone through for the evidence of the crimes she states they have committed.
To keep information of wrong doing for “release” when the time is right for HER brings questions to this posters mind and it appears the minds of many. To know of illegal activity and not turn it over is aiding her enemy, again why? One has to ask WTF is she is thinking and could she had ended the terror created by Raniere if she would turn over the “evidence” when she discovered it and before she is subpoenaed to do so?

According to the latest filings, Bouchey's deposition is not a confidential document. That means she could have shared it more than 15 months ago.
Anyone want to tell me why the fuck she didn't do that? Better yet, anyone want to explain why the fuck hasn't she turned over all of her evidence to the proper authorities more than 20 months after she left VanFraud and company?

Have to wonder about NXIVM leadership, lawyers, clients, students all being involved in illegal activity. Just the way of cults.
Recovery from a cult like this is hard, because while you are drinking the kool-aid you often end up doing things you know are wrong, but you are programmed, shut off from your conscience, and only care being a good cult member.
Something similar could be said for attorneys Robert Crockett and Steve Coffey. They are manipulators of the truth. They hide behind bluster and boasting about how they are vigourously defending their clients and upholding ethical standards of their profession, but the code of ethics for lawyers does not excuse their behavior in any way. That is a big lie being told by Coffey especially.
Unfortunately courtrooms, juries and judges are often intimated and/or enthralled with these types of lawyers. You can read it in Crockett's ridiculous behavior at Bouchey's deposition. The other ministers of justice are appalled, but nothing is done, no censure.
