Children, children gather round for I bring you tiding of great joy. Christmas, New Year’s, Ramadan and Passover have all arrived together in the greatest week in the history of the human struggle
VANGUARD WEEK HAS ARRIVED.
Well actually it’s more like ten days as cult crazed zombies in their thousands {well it’s been a little slow this year but thousands sounds better than 180} gather at the once proud Silver Bay resort[ Now they would host a Branch Davidians convention if the price was right}HERE to celebrate the MAN, Keith Raniere’s Birthday in a spectacular and ethical way but let me allow them to explain it.
VWEEK OBJECTIVES
Objectives are goal-oriented social groups designed to give you a place to learn, explore and grow within a given area alongside others who share similar values. In the objectives, process is everything: each is a microcosm of what it takes to build oneself while working interdependently with a team. We encourage you to choose just one to two objectives as some will run concurrently, and each day will build upon the previous day(s), ultimately ending in a spectacular finale!
Please see the descriptions below for each of the objectives featured this year. You'll also have an opportunity to experience a taste of each on the first day of VWeek (August 23).
CHESS OBJECTIVE
Objective leader: Kathy Russell
Chess is a great way to improve one's problem solving ability! So, if you want to think more outside the box, or just love to play chess, join us this VWeek for an amazing treat with longtime presenter International Grandmaster Maurice Ashley. In 1999, GM Ashley became the first African-American to attain the coveted title of International Grandmaster of Chess, and was named 2003 Grandmaster of the Year by the U.S. Chess Federation. GM Ashley serves as the world's premier live chess commentator for ESPN, and served as commentator for one of the most spectacular events in chess history: the 1997 re-match of Garry Kasparov vs. IBM's supercomputer "Deep Blue."
Whether you're a beginner or avid chess enthusiast, GM Ashley has developed easy-to-learn methods and practices for becoming a solid chess player at any level. GM Ashley works closely with the Chess Objective leader, Kathy Russell, and under his guidance the objective will conduct daily skill building and drill practices, prepping us for his transformative workshop, taking place from August 25 to 29. We also plan to keep up the pace after his departure by continuing the practices he taught throughout the week.
POETRY OBJECTIVE
Objective leader: Edgar Boone
The poetry objective is open to anyone interested in exploring the possibilities of expression through language. We provide a comfortable and fun environment for people to discover more about themselves through writing. Some come only to listen and enjoy others' writing, others come to try a new form of expression, and there are some who want it all: listening, writing and sharing. Whichever choice you make, you'll very likely leave with a deeper awareness of your own humanity and how language plays a deeply influential role in our lives.
The written word and poetry is just one of Counselor Emeritus Edgar Boone's favorite modes of self-expression. But his deep passion for poetry shines brightly in his consistent and ongoing commitment to the poetry objective. Edgar feels that as he helps others nurture their passion, it further informs and fuels his own journey. It has been a profoundly moving experience for many people over the past several years, and we are extremely fortunate to welcome Edgar back to host the poetry objective this year.
RHYTHM OBJECTIVE
Objective leaders: Charlie Cooley and Jim Del Negro
Certain things are universal to the human experience; rhythms and drumming are some of those deeply primitive things. The beat of a mother's heart is the first of many rhythms we experience. The drum can be a gateway to unlocking expression and experiencing ourselves in a way that is profound and life changing. Charlie Cooley and Proctor Jim Del Negro will take a group of Nxians through a journey of self-exploration and team building using drums as a vehicle to express the music within. As we've learned from years past, most participants will not be musicians, and many will have never played an instrument in their lives. Yet by the end of the week, they will all be playing joyfully next to each other and creating a wonderful rhythmic performance.
Charlie Coolie is one of Canada's most in-demand drummers. He has performed and/or recorded with such artists as Leonard Cohen, The Guess Who, Randy Brecker, Anne Murray, Sass Jordan and Amanda Marshall. Charlie is a member of the award-winning world beat jazz ensemble Manteca. Charlie was the musical co-director for The Canadian Idol Winners' Tour in 2009 and has been the in-house drummer for many of Canada's award shows, such as The Juno Awards (The Canadian equivalent of the Grammy Awards in the US).
Jim Del Negro is a proctor and head trainer with Executive Success Programs. His work with ESP gives him unique skills in working with people and helping them to better express their musical abilities. He has played the drums since he was ten years old and has since created Rhythms of Influence, a company using the unique properties of drumming and drum-circles to create team-building experiences for corporate, public and private events.
DANCE OBJECTIVE
Objective leaders: Esteban Gonzalez
How would you like to learn to dance hip-hop, jazz, tap and salsa all in one place, all in one week? This year at VWeek the dance objective will be led by the handsome and talented Esteban Gonzalez from Mexico City. If you like musicals or shows like GLEE, or if you just want to learn some fresh new moves, this is your chance. Learn to express in exciting news ways, make new friends and party like it's 1999! All skill levels are welcome.
Esteban Gonzalez is a dancer and executive producer with ANIMA, INC., an award-winning Mexican performing arts company whose conceptual founder is Keith Raniere. Esteban has studied across North America and is familiar with various dance styles. For nearly two years, he led free public dance classes on the streets of Mexico City for the In Lak' Ech movement, a humanitarian initiative founded by Keith Raniere promoting non-violence and community building in Mexico. On one occasion Esteban had a record turnout of more than 8,500 participants.
WRITING OBJECTIVE
Objective leader: Karen Unterreiner
The Writing Objective is a brilliant system developed by Vanguard. It involves a group of people coming together to write a single document in a completely new and innovative way. The resulting document is the effect of each person's participation; and the true result of the project is the experiential understanding of interdependence.
This year we will be using VWeek to launch a project that will extend six months or so beyond Vweek. We will be meeting several times at VWeek to plan how to take the Writing Project to a whole new level. After VWeek, we will meet every couple weeks via conference call and utilize our international team to create an incredible piece of work. Join us for this groundbreaking event. You don't have to write well, you just need a desire to learn about yourself by working with a wonderful group of people.
Proctor Karen Unterreiner assisted Vanguard in developing the Writing Project from its inception years ago. She has brought it to VWeek each year since. The project is very dear to Karen because it allows her to utilize her unique understanding of systems with people who are learning about themselves by working together.
MATH OBJECTIVE
Objective leader: Baron Stewart
Do you love math? Or do you have a math "phobia"? Mathematics is a language for describing the world and quantifying it. This powerful system of knowledge and understanding has been under development for several millennia, and some of humanity's brightest minds have contributed to its diversity and richness. The Mathematics Objective is the perfect stepping stone to peek in and marvel at the wonderful world of math.
Baron Stewart is our returning leader of the Mathematics Objective. He is currently a faculty member at the University of Phoenix where he helps adult learners master the ins and outs of modern math. Baron wants to help you see mathematics as a source of pleasure and inspiration. Some of the topics Baron will be covering include how to solve the Rubik's Cube, mathematical proofs, famous mathematicians and their contributions, and different mathematical puzzles and games.
TENNIS TOURNAMENT
Tournament leader: Omar Boone
Compete in the 4th International VWeek Tennis Open, August 25 - September 2, 2011
Again this year, Nxian tennis players from around the world will come together to compete at this challenging and exciting sport. Most skill levels are welcome, from enthusiasts to intermediate and advanced players. We're sorry, but our tournament is not well suited for absolute beginners, but feel free to cheer on the players and get inspired for next year!
Proctor Omar Boone started the tennis tournament after rekindling his love of tennis, rediscovering the joy he felt when he first picked up a racquet at age six, and had forgotten since he retired from the sport in his mid teens. He began playing again two years ago at VWeek, and in the past few months has intensified his training, setting out goals to excel at the highest levels. By competing with Nxians in recent years, Omar has been developing a newfound passion and focus to achieve his goals in life. This will be the third year he is leading the tournament and is enthused to welcome tennis lovers back for another exciting week.
This year at VWeek, winners will receive exciting prizes; so grab your racquet and start practicing! To sign up, and for more information, contact Omar Boone at oboone@nxian.net. Be sure to register "forehand" so you get considered in the main draw. The tournament will be played "round robin" style; this means each player will have a chance to compete against every other player.
SPECIALIZED WORKSHOPS
In an attempt to provide VWeek participants with a variety of unique experiences and opportunities for growth, we've chosen a few areas of interest and are providing workshops by professionals in these fields. We hope to be introducing more of these specialized learning experiences in years to come. To keep VWeek costs to a minimum, we are charging for these workshops on an "a la carte" basis. Please sign up in advance to help us plan accordingly and ensure yourself a spot.
Music Workshops with Jen Chapin and the Jen Chapin Trio
If you're a music enthusiast, don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from some very gifted and highly experienced musicians. Whether you're a shower singer or trained musician, this workshop will provide ample opportunity to expand your musical abilities and push your boundaries of expression.
Jen Chapin, daughter of Harry Chapin (best known for his hit "Cat's in the Cradle"), is herself a contemporary singer-songwriter. Often categorized as "jazzy folk pop," Jen's music expresses a unique combination of soulfulness, activism and intimacy.
Standup bassist Stephan Crump, Jen's husband, is a legend in his own right. He is one of the most recognized bassists in the jazz world today, playing internationally.
We are offering a three-day workshop for $100, or sessions can be purchased for $50 per day.
Yoga Classes with Alli Warnyca
This year we will be offering daily Hatha yoga classes. Yoga is a great way to start your day, whether you want exercise and stretch, a greater feeling of centeredness, or just a few quiet minutes of contemplation, we're inviting aspiring yogis of all skill levels and abilities.
Alli Warnyca is an energetic and knowledgeable yoga teacher, or yogini. Since first learning classical Hatha yoga, Alli has deepened her yogic knowledge by studying the Ashtanga, Power Flow and Kundalini yoga styles. Most recently she has been leading popular workshops for golfers, using the power of yoga to connect mind, body and spirit to enhance players' enjoyment of this ever challenging and inspiring game.
Each class is limited to only twenty-five participants, so sign up early to secure your place!
Single yoga classes are available for $10, and a nine-class VWeek package is available for $80.

NXIVM Prayer
12 Commandments By Keith Raniere
1. Success is an internal state of clear, honest knowledge of what I am, my value in the world and my responsibility for the way I react to all things.
2. There are no ultimate victims, therefore, I will not choose to be a victim.
3. I am committed to be successful. I understand that each of us must raise ourselves – and thereby raise all others – as all others raise us. This is interdependence.
4. Success in my own right is my earned success. True success cannot be stolen, copied or received by happenstance. I will not masquerade as successful by these methods or any other. I will earn my success.
5. Tribute is a form of payment and honor. It is giving credit where credit is due. I will use tribute to uphold others beyond my petty likes and dislikes. As a result I will define my self and my true contribution to humankind.
6. Successful people do not steal and they have no desire or need to steal. I will not steal anything. I will always earn what I need and desire. Copying without permission, or tribute, is not the highest form of flattery, it is theft. Theft is also taking or receiving something without fully earning it, it is always at the expense, no matter how small, of others.
7. Inner honesty and integrity are the highest human values and the foundation of the human psychology. All other values arise from them. I will never trade my integrity or inner honesty for any other value. It is never worth it.
8. The methods and information I learn in ESP are for my use only. I will not speak of them, or in any way give others knowledge of them, outside ESP. Part of the condition of being accepted into ESP is to keep all its information confidential. If I violate this, I am breaking a promise and breaching my contract, but more importantly I am compromising my inner honesty and integrity.
9. True success is never at the expense of others. As a successful individual, I will never envy another’s success. I will rejoice because I realize the success of others raises me up just a little bit more because I am also part of the human team. The actualization of human potential by anyone is a tribute to all team humankind. If others are successful, I will protect their success against those that envy them. I pledge to purge myself of all parasite and envy-based habits and replace them with the habits of effort and interdependence.
10. I will unreservedly accept the success I have earned. I will accept no more and no less. This is accepting with integrity. I will give unreservedly to those who have earned it. This is giving with integrity. I will accept with integrity as easily as I give with integrity. To not accept what I am worth, or what I have earned, is to devalue myself and thereby all others.
11. People control the money, wealth and resources of the world. It is essential for the survival of humankind for these things to be controlled by successful, ethical people. I pledge to ethically control as much of the money, wealth and resources of the world as possible within my success plan. I will always support the ethical control of these things.
12. A world of successful people will be a better world indeed, a world devoid of hunger, theft, dishonesty, envy and insecurity. People will no longer try to destroy each other, steal from each other, down each other or rejoice at another’s demise. Success, ethics and integrity are co-inspirational. I pledge to share and enroll people in ESP and its mission for myself and to help make the world a better place to live.

Till my next report from VWEEK See Ya at Silver Bay
Now I know I am always criticized for calling current followers of Raniere Inc. brain dead Zombies and such, but lying in intensive care for a few days didn’t really mellow my attitudes but it did give me some perceptive so I offer you this
And remember you hold the key to your own self built cell and you can walk out anytime and rejoin the world. Remember Keith Raniere, the Bronfmann brats and all the other coaches and clowns are just runing a two bit con in a third rate cult. I’ve found for all the crap, wars and poverty, Earth is still an amazing place and it misses you and wants you to come back.

I especially like the 'no victims' part.
NXIVM could best be re-named THE CULT OF THE PERPETUAL VICTIMS.
A letter will go out tomorrow to Jen Chapin, informing her of the predicament she has gotten into.
I don't believe that picture of Raniere is accurate. ;) A little too much on the skinny and hairy side.
Love the posted quote in the picture John. Might be my twitter status soon.
Excellent job John.
They really are third rate, pushing watered down Ayn Rand. Who in their right mind would pay for this?
The world is a cruel placeand these cults play on those in pain. God they are disgusting.
Charging people for what they can get for free.
Kathy Russell teaching chess ???!!!! WTF !!
I guess she gave up the dancing gig.
I spoke with this women and I doubt she can tie her own shoes,
I doubt she knows what chess means.
Raniere loves giving people the illusion that they know something when they really don't
Harry is rolling over in his grave.
OMG...Thinking of Kathy Russell as a chess instructor is almost as funny as seeing her in her tutu. Fucking Vanguard has a very sick sense of humor!
I always look forward to your reports this time a year, John.
