Brent Wilkes calls press conference, Congress Park ducks respond.

Well I’ve been to a lot of press conferences in my day. Most have a smiling candidate with a bunch of supporters behind them waving signs but this was bizarre . There was Brent with his wife, Pat Kane, a bunch of ducks, a crazy guy passing through and Oh I forgot Kyle York, who read about the important press conference on my blog. I also came with two friends who just came to laugh.

I have a few friends in media circles and one tipped me off that Brent Wilkes had sent a blast out to all the media on the East coast announcing that Andrew Cuomo had endorsed him and he even hinted Andrew might pop in. Well YNN, a reporter from the Saratogian and a bored looking photographer showed up. Brent also said he was disappointed in Scott Johnson’s flyer today pointing out the fact that he had driven PERMA into the ground while enriching himself. I will have that video tomorrow. But for now enjoy the empty Park, the ducks and Brent in the most bizarre event I’ve seen in a long time

Oh and before I forget if any of you had any question about what kind of non-event that was last night {you know no pictures,no video} put on by the Southwest neighborhood association, Molly Gagne the association bigwig and neighborhood snitch will be having a house party for Brent tomorrow night at her home at Vichy Dr from 7:00pm – 8:30pm. I hear duck pate will be on the menu and neighbors remember all the times Molly called the cops on you when you had a little party or picnic just remember to return the favor.

Till tomorrow when I will have more exciting video of Brent talking to the Ducks, Good Night

WTF?

That Kane is one hell of a campaign manager, making this event happen.

What a wacko! why would someone give a press conference in such a cavernous venue when he had to know no one was going to show not even the Dems? Why didn't he just have it in his office? If we elect him are we going back to the weekly and bizarre press conferences of Ron Kim? Really? Is that what we want? Good job, John!

Brent is one strange duck himself

A press conference is a voluntary presentation of
information to the media. In a press conference, you
decide what information is presented, how it is
presented, and who presents it. It is an opportunity to
get your story on TV, radio or in the paper. To hold a
press conference you contact the media, pick a time
and place, make a presentation and respond to
reporters’ questions.
Define your goals
Before you plan a press conference you should be
very clear about your goals. Being clear about your
goals will help you do a better job of planning the press
conference. Some good reasons for holding a press
conference might include:
• to get publicity about your efforts and problems;
• to get widespread media coverage;
• to send a message to a decision maker about
what you want;
• to get more people involved in your organization;
• to develop the skills of your members;
• to show the strength of your group.

This clown has a conference and no one shows up but one tv and one print media.
He says nothing to a crowd of ducks and then waddles away himself.
Well I will grant you one thing he is good for a laugh

Why not just do a press release for this unmomentous piece of news of a Cuomo endorsement? Of course Cuomo wasn't going to show up. Is Wilkes a lier or a fool? Or both... Somebody who works in Albany, probably Eileen Finneran's husband (or is Shawn Thompson still slinking around down there?) went to some Cuomo staffer he knew with a write up to endorse and the staffer signs off. Cuomo I'm sure has never heard of Wilkes. Same goes for that Gillibrand endorsement.

John: So was the Southwest Neighborhood Association (not to be confused with the Westside or the Southside neighborhood associations) a private or public event? It would seem that having a police officer at a private event is a bit unusual. And if a public event, then aren't cameras and recorders (and reporters) acceptable?

Any Questions from the Crowd? OK, you there: said...

Quack, quack, quack, quack. Quack. Quack, quack. Quack.

They were "hoping" Cuomo would show up? Seriously? I was hoping Santa would show up. Maybe one of the Kardasians. How about Elmo?

According to the article published in the Saratogian (11/1/11) "The public is invited to meet the candidates running for Saratoga Springs positions at 7PM Wed., in the Saratoga Eagle Community Room....The event is being organized by the SW Neighborhood Association...."

...and the Officer was there with his black & white, right outside in the parking circle.

Kyle he was in the lobby I spoke to him and joked are you here for me?He said maybe

So was there an officer, or wasn't there? Just like to clear it up.

Something else I've noticed, Seems like Wilkes and Matt Veitch signs are going hand and hand on lawns. Hmmmm. Haven't heard an endorsement from Veitch, the "republican" for Johnson yet. Maybe because Mayor Johnson doesn't offer his brothers PBA the sweet deals they want?

Golly, I just noticed something. The website for Brent's church, where he was recently president, used to have the full text of some sermons, and mp3 recordings of others. That feature is now gone. Hmmmmmmm. I wonder why that is. Too many gaffes from Brent? Too many quacking noises in the background?

The officer was inside of the building in the lobby, not in the room where the folks gathered. My comment about the cruiser was made only to clarify that it was an on-duty officer. Seems an unwise deployment of a limited resource, quite senseless.

Glad we all agree on the waste of resources. Hope we get the South West neighbors to get the city to clear this up, and bill them accordingly.
