On Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 8:01 AM I posted
The last days of the late great City of Saratoga Springs.HERE.
With that single post English grammar would be set back twenty years.
Seriously I was simply upset about the Saratogians biased coverage of the 2009 election along with the scurrilous witch hunt that shut down Ben Arnold of (Dis)Utopia of Saratoga. A blog that I loved. My nom de guerre of “Ben lives on” is a direct tribute to his spirit and wit.
I also swore the forces of censorship would never shut me down and if I have proven one thing in this little experiment in poor taste and grammar is that neither intimidation or illness will stop me. I have posted from Albany med and moderated comments from the ruins of Haiti.
I believe I have been an alternative voice to the powers of money. I have never profited one dime from this blog or have I ever taken one cent to write a story. I have taken donations to cover my Governmental and State legal bills to access court records, but as Kyle York can attest to, it doesn’t come cheap. Mind you I am grateful to all of you who have donated money, but at best I break even. I will be having a Holiday fundraiser for my Third quarter pacer bill but not till December.
So with this election over where to now?
Well with the City Council under partial loony bird control I will be writing often on city politics including this Tuesday’s City Council meeting. I’m hoping to get a better Camera so my videos can improve. Anyone with an old one they want to get rid of, donations will be graciously accepted at my “office” uncommon grounds or if you want to be anonymous just put it in my car, I rarely lock it on Broadway. I refuse to live in fear of anything, be it man or beast.
I am happy to report there is a strong possibility with names like Lew & Linda Benton and Nancy & John Goldberg along with the infamous Eileen Finneran being bantered around, I-Saratoga’s Horatio Alger might come out of retirement.
In other news it seems that the once great Times Union has folded its tent and given up its coverage of NXIVM. This despite its direct knowledge, verified and in some cases taped of the nefarious actions of Keith Raniere, some of which involves underage girls. To the victims of Raniere, the time has come for you to tell your stories to other national news organizations. Ones that can’t be intimidated by NXIVM’s money and its gaggle of Attorneys.
And to Steve Coffey; I plan on getting back to writing about NXIVM as soon as this week, so keep your computers on my site and don’t forget my Christmas card, dickhead.
And just a note to my readers. Thank You.Without you I wouldn't write.
I know I have sometimes been unfair and in some cases the innocent have been hurt and for that I apologize. And I will repeat if any of you ever want to write a guest column refuting anything I’ve written or just want to “set the record straight” I will publish it front page. No Charge.
And finally this is my 523th post and it seems like only 520.
Till my next real post
Again
THANK YOU ALL

Way to go!
All I can say is ...Thank-you & Thank God for you John...Keep writing, keep exposing the truth. On 11/11/11 my brother would have been 59. With that in mind a little shout out to Keith, Nancy, Pam, Karen, Kristin, Barbara J, and all the rest of you...Fuck you, Fuck-you and oh by the way Fuck-you...its a message from above...K, G & J...
Dude, Happy Birthday
Glad the elections are over and maybe like a tic about to pop... some juicy new about the "great one"... barf.... will come to the surface.
Every time I think of Crock O'Shit and the "great ones" marry troupe of lawyers getting their asses kicked (with Pam that a full days work ya know)...
well...it brings a smile to me face.
Looking forward to another year of Saratoga's greatest thorn in the "great ones" ass postings.
God Bless you John
I have to agree with Toni. Fuck you- G.M. (remember me?)
Fuck the Interlopers.
Great Job John! I was so into your election coverage. Without your posts Scott Johnson may have lost and I don't know what Wilkes would have done to our city. There was something so wrong with that guy and w/o you we would not have known. The victims of NXIVM will always be grateful that you gave them a voice and a safe haven. We have seen your writing skills improve everyday (but not your spelling). We all know this blog has taken a toll and that you are seriously ill. Hopefully you will live and write for many decades. We love you!!
John..
Let me add your name to the folks in Saratoga who deeply value the role of Citizen Journalism.
You have bravely exposed the local cult and the conflicts of interests in the Wilkes candidacy.
Most importantly, you have approached this blog as a freedom and liberty mission - a key to democracy.
Don't let ANYONE intimidate you - we only get better through passionate conversations.
Best of health to you, John!
john, never let the bastards get you down, your track is right and we appreciate your efforts and we'll always support you and your endeavor, thanks.

I'm curious to know how a legitimate news organization that has verifiable records of such actions cannot ethically report such activities to the authorities, and if they did, how these authorities, paid for by taxpayer money, cannot ethically follow through on prosecuting such actions?
John, no one owns you. That't the best part. You are a Democrat who goes against his party when he thinks they are wrong. You would do the same if you thought the GOPs screwed up. No one has ever bought you with a job or a favor. You keep them on their toes all right! Keep it up.
I’m so bored without the election I go in Little India’s storeroom when no ones looking and cut really stinky-ass farts, then hide until the towel-head chef comes in. He gets so pissed off. Ha Ha
Hey Kyle "FOIL" that!!!!
Betcha can't guess what we've been up to since y'all have been distracted by that goofy Wilkes guy....
An Espian calling someone else goofy seems to be the epitome of irony when one considers the actions of their leader.
How about doing a bit of digging into Stalker Cop Pat Arpei's bid to get the order of protection thrown out so he can go back to harrassing girls, threatening to kill him self with his AK-47 and tasing people in handcuffs. Stay Classy SSPD!
HAPPY Birthday!! You are a great man, JT!! OH an Horatio, please come back...
Happy belated birthday, John. You are in my thoughts and prayers in your time of illness, and I'm confident that you will pull through and continue your life as an uncompromising, truth-seeking motherfucker.
I am disheartened and thoroughly disgusted by the cowardly, irresponsible actions of the Times-Union. By burying the information that they have about Raniere's alleged history of sexually abusing women and underage girls, they are 100% complicit in his crimes, and they will be, in large part, responsible for any future victims' suffering.
What do they fear? Media outlets cannot be sued for simply reporting what people are saying. The only people in danger of legal action from such a story would be the interviewees. There is NO REASON, legal or otherwise, for the T-U to bury the story. Disgusting.
Not so coincidentally, on the SAME DAY that John made this blog post, the Times-Union ran an article (penned by the once-honorable James Odato) called Time limit kills sex cases. The article explains how the statute of limitations in NYS for sex crimes runs out when the accuser reaches age 23. It seems to me to be a transparent attempt by the T-U to justify the fact that they are BURYING the Raniere sex abuse story. Nice try, but we see through you, T-U.
If the T-U published the results of their investigation, it would give other possible victims the courage to also speak out. Instead, those possible victims will continue living in fear and with the pain of past sexual abuse, especially if they read this blog and find out that the Times-Union is afraid to stand up and do the right thing.
I am forced to conclude that Odato and Rex Smith are little more than NXIVM shills at this point. They are COWARDS. They are protecting a sex abuser by refusing to fulfill their obligations as journalists.
However, I trust and hope that another media outlet will cover the story so that Raniere is unable to victimize any more women.
