Saratoga Springs 2011 election fallout.

Breaking News;Brent Wilkes has conceded.

Well the million dollar question for me is where did brother Brent Wilkes come up with the sixty grand plus to pay for the last seven day campaign blitz. I believe he purposely waited till after the 10 day pre-election deadline had passed to cover up how much and where he got the unprecedented amount of money that he and Pat Kane spent in the week leading up to the election. In Skidmore College alone hundreds of four page glossy flyers were dumped in lounges all over the campus.

And while I’m on the subject of Brent’s sustainability hypocrisy. You know pontificating to the Skidmore Students and Sustainable Saratoga, while littering the city, could you get your fucking campaign signs off Grand Ave?

But enough of Brent destroying a few acres of forest, let’s talk about election law shall we?

24-Hour Notice: October 25, 2011 thru November 07, 2011** By law, under the 24 hour rule, large contribution made close to the wire must be disclosed.

** 24-Hour Notice - During these time periods, any contribution or loan which exceeds $1,000 must be reported within 24 hours of receipt via fax or the NYSBOE website. This same contribution or loan must also be reported in the associated Post Election report; Source HERE.

Your full 27-Day Post-General* is due between December 01, 2011 December 05, 2011; Also HERE

I will be waiting with baited breath for your filing Brent.

In other news Dennis Yusko at Saratoga Seen the TU blog is reporting that that Democrat Brent Wilkes is presently meeting with Mayor Scott Johnson to concede the election HERE. Yusko is a favorite of the Cities Dems ever since he wrote the bullshit story about the Mayor’s son in the last election. Funny he never wrote a Word about PERMA and its muti-million dollar losses after contracting Wilkes Company. Or that Brent officially retired as PERMA's president when the loses became public or that Brent’s parasitic company NEAMI, Northeast Association Management, had been draining PERMA dry for years. Charging management fees in excess of 6 million a year or that his wife Linda Wilkes was also employed by the company; Source HERE. But then again there are a lot of stories the TU isn’t running these days.

Moving on Dennis Yusko is also reporting that Michele Madigan will hire Lynn Bachner, who served as deputy finance commissioner under Matt McCabe, as her right hand woman.

Madigan has found a bit of fame as the singing drunk in this little video.

Bellowing in the largely empty Gaffney’s bar after her win, "I can count. Ken Ivins can't.” Stay classy Michele. Just look out for the new sheriff in town tooth fairy Christian Mathiesen who wants to turn Caroline into Disneyland north. In the new Saratoga Springs drunken bellowing will be dealt with severely.

And who does Michele thank for her win. Let’s see

"I want to first thank Eileen Finneran. She is a machine who never missed a single detail. She kept two campaigns running on track and without the several dozen phone calls to me daily, my election would not be a reality. This woman knows how to run a campaign – 2 campaigns! My husband Kevin was also instrumental to this campaign. He walked the city with my regularly and also kept me on track. Kristen Dart, Jay Partridge, Georgana Hanson, Charlie Brown, Al Ormsby, Lew & Linda Benton and Nancy & John Goldberg were also invaluable members of my campaign team. Suzanne (Zuzia) Kwasniewski and Hank Kuczynski really helped to get this campaign all the wonderful press that was so desperately needed . I want to thank all the people who walked with me. Walking is without a doubt the most important aspect of any campaign. Thank you Mary Zlotnick, Kathy Gorman, Jaye Kuczynski, Peter Ryan, Thilo Ullman, Eileen Finneran, Jane Weihe, Zuzia and anyone else that I may have missed for all the walking!! I want to thank all the people who hosted house parties and I would especially like to thank Cindy Corbett for the amazing Ragin-Cagin feast and the George and Nancy Cain for the Hurricane party! I want to thank Joanne Yepsen, Tommy McTygue and John Franck for their support and terrific strategic advice. I must also thank the Firefighters and PBA for their efforts and support, especially all the walking they did for this campaign. Thank you, Lynn Bacher for our first meeting – it was at this meeting that I gained the confidence to run for Finance Commissioner. Brucie Rosch, a big giant thank you for all your amazing work on this campaign. Larry Bulman gets another big thank you for his early support of this campaign. His support allowed me to get out there quickly so voters could get to know me better.

I want to thank the entire Saratoga Springs Democratic Committee for their endorsement and their hard work that culminated in this victory. Finally, I want to thank Brent & Linda Wilkes and Chris & Fran Mathiesen for running for office with me. It has been an honor and a privilege to work with you."

That brings us to Christian Mathiesen again the well placed Dennis Yusko is reporting that Christian Mathiesen will appoint former deputy mayor and deputy public safety commissioner Eileen Finneran as his deputy. Just in time I here she’s down to her last unemployment check. Happy days are here again

No matter what you think of Ivins, his biggest accomplishment was getting Benton out of city hall. That was a real public service. He took a lot of heat directly from Benton (and still does, Benton has many aliases on the Saratogian web site). As a taxpayer I thank Ivins for all he has done to get rid of that vicious parasite.

John-

Your NXIVM work has earned you a national audience. Your inexplicably bitter and tireless hatred for Brent isn't doing much for your reputation... not locally and not afar. Of course your fan base can't get enough of your preaching and commandments from on high. It's as if by REPORTING on a Cult Leader you've BECOME one yourself. And while adoration may feel cool... it's not a good thing.

Cheap shot with the Madigan video, good get on the Mathiesen madness. But I know that you and the flock don't give a damn what I think.

But I say you are better than this endless Election Errata.

p.s.- Are you SURE you haven't allowed all these recent posts to be written by Mark Scirocco a/k/a "demroc" a/k/a "sick of the disciples"? They certainly reek of his paranoid penmanship.

Kyle I am pointing out the unprecidented amount of money he spent.I think that's a fair question to ask. I didn't write Madegan's E-mail or make the video.I only report what I think others have a right to see.

There is more to Brent and I intend to keep digging.

The fact that the TU has been sitting on stories is very well known. It makes you wonder if Clare Bronfman finally got to George Hearst???

Send in the lawyers there ought to be lawyers said...

Wilkes conceded defeat this afternoon. I think your blistering criticism over his mystery contributors got to him.
Regardless of what Kyle Dork says keep on him he’s hiding something

Thank you for the update. Regardless I want to see his post election campaign fiscal disclosure forms which he is still obligated to file

Stay the course John. This group which pandered to bigger government program, resurrecting the absurd idea of huge capital projects today in 2012 is due for a rude reality check.

And how many Skidmore students voted? Was it 40 something? And of those votes how many were for Wilkes? Guess Wilkes didn't make a big impression up there. Guess the Republicans won't bother to try to take away the polling place there again. Why bother?

What was it my Grandmother always said? Something like "Fools' names and fools' faces always seen in public places"

What a shame about Matthiesen choosing Finneran but no surprise. After making a Faustian deal with the she-devil in order to get her help to win how else could this play out. Lynn Bachner, on the other hand, really knows the budget. Madigan would do well to appoint her and then more importantly to listen to her. We'll see if she has the good sense to do that.

Kyle: I think that JT's work is a great thing it shows the true character of people. Guess the truth can hurt sometimes. Keep up the good work JT

Kyle, you're right JT has become a Cult Leader over a flock thar wants to know why someone like Brent Wilkes portrays himself as an apostle for the transparent world but operates in the shadows of disguise and misdirection, spending 60k or more in the last week of an election for a 16k a year job must leave a paranoid mind like yours on the brink of total overload..lets move on..the real story here is why did city Republican Chairman John Herrick sit on campaign funds? Why did he run away from Ivins and Wirth? Johnson ran his own campaign(good thing he did)! And of course Scirocco at the last minute threw the Republican team under the bus..Why?..It has come down to this,Herrick is for charter change(him not being from saratoga springs he doesn't understand what SUCCESS means)..could that be the reason he was invisible during the entire campaign? I think he wanted the Dems to sweep the election..convince me otherwise. If yyou are a Republican committee person and read this blog..you should seriously think about getting a new leader.Congratulions to Scott Johnson for winning his third term and a very special thanks to a certain ex mayor for saving the bacon at the last minute.

John,

I took great personal comfort in stepping away from the blood-soaked flying fur of city politics. These years have flowed by seamlessly in an even deeper state of mindless anonymity.

But alas, hearing names like Finneran and "demroc" warm the cockles of my heart. Good Christ, that lady is like a bloated cat when it comes to her lives in politics. How many lives are we up to now? Three? Four? It's kind of remarkable to read Madigan's speech and glean a bit of the apparent mending of the party only to hear they still hold a worthless hack like Finneran in high esteem. And that they don't realize she will bring nothing more than the same tired rhetoric she spewed while using Ron Kim like a soiled sock puppet. Of course, the lessons last learned are often the ones first lost while on a descent into myopic dementia.

Maybe I will fire up the ol' cyber-press and see if it's got any mileage left. Maybe I can generate one token post for to toast 2011. Though I'll have to see if someone can tow me from the bottom of this bourbon bottle...

Cheers,
Horatio

Horatio! Please come back! John is doing a great job here, but the situation in SS today is crying out for another good political site!

i-Saratoga-

You MUST come back. Your well-balanced wit is missed almost as much as the breath of your vision and the tremendousosity of your topics. In your absence, our region has been seized by a cult that worships its leader and hangs on every word he speaks or writes, never questioning and always joining in his conspiratorial warnings-- BEWARE all those who are NOT us! The leader has a natural appeal that draws the faithful to worship him as the vanguard of a new era in a new Saratoga.

We also have a problem with Keith Raniere and the wackoes at NXIVM.

While JT has earned respect and readership for his fury and fearlessness, this city still cries out for the keenly-balanced all-seeing i of Saratoga.

Did you know that Brent Wilkes single-handedly caused the collapse of the Housing Bubble? Personally, I never thought he'd surpass his cosmic calamity called Katrina...
