Well it’s been a good couple days for all the City Council incumbents. Ivins,HERE Wirth HERE and now Johnson HERE have all received the endorsement of Saratoga’s only hometown daily.
First Ivins scored against the gum smacking Madigan. Madigan has been doing some serious double dealing. First she was for Charter Change then lukewarm. Then for a new police station then maybe not. She promised the Police more cops and bigger budgets and the PBA gave her a $1000 HERE and their endorsement. I only hope they don’t want their money back Wednesday.
I think Madigan read Machiavelli’s best-known book, Il Principe or the Prince.
She told many members of the community she was going to crack down on Anthony "Skip" Scirocco’s budget transfers, while telling Skippy she was going to pad his budget after he claimed Ivins cut it HERE. Anthony "Skip" Scirocco then promised her the support of what he called a thousand Skippy fans to cast their votes for her. She really is a double dealing pro. Thank god she was found out before the election. I will be writing much more about this after the election including the e-mail from a Scirocco family member exposing the plot. I have promised that whistleblower not to publish till after Tuesday but if one of you has it, sent it to me with no such restrictions and I'll post, well let’s see what comes in my e-mail.

But right now Ken Ivins is looking pretty to win reelection and the double dealing Madigan will be sent to the dustpin of Saratoga Politics.
Next Rick Wirth won the Saratogians endorsement over Saratoga Dentist Christian Mathiesen. 
Mathiesen has run a campaign based on fear. I swear the man is xenophobic the way he talks about strangers coming into our community to drink our beer and rape our children. His pandering to the PBA was frankly embarrassing even though it was to no avail. Perhaps the cops new about his temper that led him to sue the school district or simply couldn’t come to terms with his humorless personality, but in the end no amount of groveling to the PBA could win their endorsement. And who could forget his famous video. Don’t want to pay for services move to Wilton or Milton.
Maybe I’ll just sue the school district like you and win enough in a bullshit Lawsuit to move back.
Either way Wirth is a lock
And that bring us to Scott Johnson. Scott won the strongest endorsement by far from the daily rag. The hapless Wilkes will no doubt be crying in his Le Fouleur Chardonnay{ Hey a 6 million fee to run PERMA into the ground has its perks}
Johnson on the other hand was celebrating another accomplishment with the relaunch of the Skate bowl today.
But Brent will always have his ducks, QUACK, QUACK

Follow up on The Wilkes/Matt Veitch connection? Also has Wilkes urged the south west neighbors to pay for their cop yet?
Two out of three would win you a permanent place in the baseball Hall of Fame! While Finance and Safety are lock-bets for the incumbents, the Mayoral race will be tight...
...right down to the final ballots that will put Wilkes over the top. And THAT's when our local-loving host will see that "outsiders" can bring the kind of passionate leadership that will leave all misguided conspiracy-mongers pleasantly surprised and shaking their heads as they mumble to themselves "What the Duck?"

We are so grateful to you for outing Wilkes before the election. Now the only thing that might save Wilkes is voter apathy. A lot of people stay home on election day. A lot of people pay no attention to the issues (or this blog or even the Saratogian) but show up to vote the Democratic line. I hope the Republicans are working on getting the vote out. Sadly, the current Democrat candidates are reliving the style, ethics and approach of the "Val" era. While these folks may not be directly part of cult that John has so bravely detailed, "Val" brought into Dem politics a meanness and low ethical standard.
Sadly, many of us who are not Republicans, are in a situation, where we will be voting across the line - AGAINST the Wilkes ticket.
Several additional questions should be raised:
* Pat Kane is a full time employee of GE - working remotely from his home. When he is out campaigning, running press conferences and supporting Wilkes - is he "on the clock"?
* Where is the full accounting of the finances of Wilkes Charter Campaign - we still have not seen who paid for the attorney fees?
* One of the key objections to the Charter proposal was that there were no "succession" statements - in one of the designated people (Wilkes, Kane, etc) were ineligible, how would they be replaced - so, if Wilkes were elected - what happens with the conflict of interest?
* Skippy Deal: It is a glaring omission on the "Dem" ticket that Skippy is not opposed. Yet, if you look at our parks - we see a decrease in quality and attention to detail. So, what was the deal that the Dems made?
Go out and vote to prevent Saratoga governance from being taking over by this squad of "Val" retreads.
The rumors about Madigan and Skippy appear to have some validity,it seems Skippys'wife is mad because Ivins cut $400,000 from one of Skippys' slush funds,I guess it would have raised the TAXES more,Ivins has stood his ground against the bulling from the scirroco family and shakes off the scrirroco back stabbing (which is normal,just ask saratoga citizen,pat design,tom mctygue Ken Ivins,the republican party and on and on).Any truth to scirocco e-mails threatening commitee people?
It's incredible to me that Wilkes (and Kane) wrote themselves into the Charter Change legislation. What kind of proposal actually designates the people who will hold the positions? The actual named people? What the duck is right. Like many things in politics it's about the money, stupid. I don't think Brent (run my company into the ground but pay myself $6 m then skip out) Wilkes all of a sudden woke up one sunny day and said "lets help poor woe-be-gone Saratoga Springs." This guy is straight out of the Fannie Mae mold. Thank goodness you dug this stuff up just in time. Good work!
I think Chris Mathieson may get more votes than Wilkes, Kyle York's theory to the contrary. At least he is from Saratoga and, by all accounts, means well. I am sure he is really embarrassed that he didn't know this stuff about Wilkes ahead of time.
The Skate Park vandilization being an inside job by DPW makes sense. When I saw the pics, my first thought was, when is the last time you saw graffiti in safety orange.

I'm seriously gonna recommend this Blog for an award. Your investigative reporting, exposure of abject phonies, and "colorful" humor have made this Election Season bearable.
For the very first time in my life I agree with all of the Saratogian endorsements. If by some sad fluke WallaWalla Wilkes wins, I'm mailing Kyle a 50. He'll need for the first week of the new "Wilkes/Mathiesen-Out-After-8:00-Pleasure-Tax."
John DOES deserve awards... but NOT for this clunker. If you run these numbers past any halfway decent CPA, they'll hand it all right back to you and say "You haven't got a story." John DID have a story when Skip coated Broadway with Toxic chemicals and never notified DEC. And John's NXIVM work is positively legend.
But driven by his own admitted bias John has gone on a wild Witch Hunt, a fiasco that's morphed into a wild Duck Hunt...
...and the "hunt" has been the equivalent of a Dick Cheney grade "If-it-moves-shoot-it" muddled mess.
Really. IFFFF there was some scandal here, don't you THINK that maybe ONE PR-hungry Politico from ONE the over 400 MUNICIPALITIES would have seen this "Scandal" and blown the whistle on his town's MAYOR MADOFF? Actually this is why the Saratogian endorsed Ivins. He does not play partisan politics. If he did he would have given Skippy all he wants and the taxpayers would pay, pay, pay.
Oh wait, that's right it is partisan, Skippy is really a Democrat. Never mind.
So Johnson screws up and buries the skate bowl, then has the gall to show up at it's reopening as if he was somehow part of championing it? This is the same guy who kept blowing off Charlie Samuels to the point that Charlie felt compelled to grandstand at the city council meeting to get attention from someone in the city? Wow.
