Back to back stories on bedbugs, nepotism, outrageous salaries and worst of all, tenant abuse by the Saratoga Springs Housing Authority were published by area papers today.

I think this story that contained a video with perhaps the funniest statement of the day, came from Authority Board Chairman Dennis Brunelle who made the observation that “You get into trouble when you don’t follow procedure” referring to the 10 minute public comment rule. Hey Brunelle you might be the last resident of planet earth to realize it, but your already in trouble, dumb ass and it isn’t from violating the public comment 10 minute rule.
Now that blistering story would have been bad enough but the Times Union also ran a troubling story about tenant abuse HERE.
I have met with some Tenants and have found there treatment under the administration of Ed Spychalski and Authority Board Chairman Dennis Brunelle to be of such an grievous nature that they border on criminal and may rise to the level of a felony human rights violations. Too bad our local law enforcement agencies are more worried about keeping me from setting foot on Housing authority property than protecting the rights of the cities downtrodden.
I am still waiting for a proper response to this outrage from the Mayor Scott Johnson and Public Safety Commissioner Christian Mathiesen. Kind of hard to say the cops are shorthanded when you can send SIX, count them SIX to stop one person from going to a Public Meeting.
I also believe that the trespass order served to me by the Saratoga Springs Police that was lacking any kind of Judicial signature was illegal. The fact that literally hundreds of these have been handed out by the City Police on behalf of Ed Spychalski and Authority Board Chairman Dennis Brunelle to be deplorable. I am now examining all of my legal options to challenge the validity of this “ORDER” that appears more suited to a Police State than a democracy.
Tell next time sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite. I saw an army of them crossing Broadway and headed to the East Side

How about making a FOIL request on how many people have been targeted with these no trespassing notices.
I think I need a pro bono lawyer! Myrtle Clapp told the entire Board Meeting that I brought the bedbugs here from Costa Rica! My father sent me on a trip to visit friends & family there in MAY 2010; clearly 14 months BEFORE any sightings in Stonequist! I have my passport stamped as to the date of my trip and also...Myrtle Clapp, apt 604,if I BROUGHT THEM BACK WITH ME FROM COSTA RICA, WHY DIDN'T I GET THEM FIRST? IF I could afford a lawyer, I could sue you, because your inflationary AND UNTRUE statement is on tape!! But I am not going to stoop to your level; I STILL HOLD MY HEAD UP HIGH...beware Mytrle Clapp...I am listenning to everything you say about me to others..JT, if you'd like to see the photo of my date stamp of entry back from Costa Rica in my passport, you're welcome to publish it...
Hey John...re-read your order again. It says you're banned from Stonequest apartments, not stonequist,that might be a loophole. LOL at all the other spelling errors, where is "Wouth federal st", and what is "counded". I posted it (blocking out personal info) to a lawyer community I belong to..They say it may not be legal because Officers are supposed to put their badge number on it. And one said "One might send a copy to the State Attorney General and the State Police as well as any LARGE News agency/People Helper Organization such as the ACLU". Also, law states that if you have not done anything threatening or done a crime, A housing authority cannot just hand out a no trespass just because they don't want the person there, but that's if you're invited by a resident. So in short, the pass my mother was given is illegal. And the pass you were given might be illegal, I don't know if you were invited by a resident that day. The "recent break ins" he claims could be done by you is not sufficient reason, you would have to be convicted of the crime for that reasoning to be legit.
These criminals need to go! Soon!
Couple other ideas come to mind:
1. Wouldn't it be kinda fun to see what might happen if someone "innoculated" Ed's automobile with a large family of these bed bugs and then he carried them home to HIS bed after sitting in the car?
2. It would be very nice if a young aggressive lawyer wanted to make a name for him/her self could file a class action law suit against all the guilty parties in this entire fiasco. Sue the County, the Authority, every single member of the board/commission and all the elected officials in Saratoga. Every resident could benefit from winning such a suit and the lawyer would be world famous afterward.
3. Interest one of the TV networks in a made-for-tv movie about all this. ED could be played by John Goodman.
All they need to do is bring Roscoe the dog in there & shock & awe them bed skitters!!
Here is food for thought and ponderence JT: When we have monthly Board meetings, we have the 10 minute forum for public comment, then the meeting, and this is all taped; BUT at many meetings, there comes a time near the end where Dennis Brunelle states that ok, we are about to continue with our private meeting, which you know you can't stay for, so thank you for coming and then...I'm wondering if THIS isn't the time when the mysterious voting in of salaries and planning of junkets takes place?? BECAUSE...it seems the NO ONE seems to know WHO OR WHERE this Spychalski salary came from! Isn't that odd? So,I'm wondering...does the videotape keep running~~ I KNOW that we can see goings on from our inhouse tv but no sound...HMMM..."Let's go to the videotape"~~ on our in-house channel 14 yesterday mysteriously was "scrambled" from about 10 a.m. til after office hours & mysteriously came back on when I got home at 9:55 it was back to regular again! This would ONLY mean that "someone" went back into the office after hours and unscrambled the channel. Could it have been Jonathan Spychalski? Who was seen by a tenant I will keep anonymous, loading plastic bags of papers from the office into his truck parked mysteriously close to the back office door on the off-hours!! Cleaning house, are we, Jonathan?
JT, my eyesight isn't all that good, but I think I failed to see a "WITNESS SIGNATURE" on your Writ of No Trespass...am I wrong?

Brunelle and Spychalski set up a couple of shills in the audience to shout down people who have legitimate questions that need to be answered - and then they hide behind our "policies and procedures" to explain why they wouldn't let the public comment period extend beyond 10 minutes???
At first, i though it Spychalski was just an out-of-control bureaucrat with little or no sensitivity to the needs of those who live in the apartments. Now, I think that Brunelle is just as corrupt and guilty as Spychalski.
JT...I will be in touch to help you put together all of the FOIL requests that need to be filed with the Housing Authority and HUD. And I'll also reach out to my contacts at the AG's office to alert them to this latest non-profit rip off.
So here we appear to have a real case of waste, fraud and abuse of federal dollars at the Housing Authority not just rhetoric so why isn't Congressman Gibson all over this demanding HUD look into how it's funds are being used??
Is it true Brunelle is planning to hire a PR firm now with HUD money to put a better spin on Ed and the Board's misdeeds?
The Mayor needs to replace the entire board immediately. Spychalski and other family members should be suspended immediately and they should be barred from entering the building. Spychalski should surrender the keys to his two vehicles. Hawthorne falls into the same category. Bring in a private management team now to replace these incompetent thugs. And, most importantly perform a forensic audit for the past six years. Hire a certified pest controller to fumigate the building and then privitize the entire operation. Brunelle has been complicit and there may be enough to file criminal charges
What was the results of the meeting w/Patsy Berrigan & Ed Spychalski's @ Civil Service????
The police department connection is tenant relations specialist Katie Sicko who husband is a lieutenant in the Saratoga Police. While the average taxpayer might wait up to an hour for a cop to show up,one call from the housing Authority and half the department shows up.The Police always side with ED and justice is handed out with pepper spray and a club.
The Police also hand out trespass notices like you received like candy. We should rename the Saratoga Police and Saratoga Militia
tenants were out today Saturday the 21st at around 10 am photographing Ed while he plowed the grounds, to show the good he does for this building; how blind are they? He does it because he's too cheap to pay overtime or hire on 2 more workers! He's too busy spending money to buy private homes for the needy, like he did near Jefferson Terrace.I don't deny housing to a poor family, however, I am wondering if anyone's looked at THAT family tree...any relation to Big Ed? I had someone drive me food shopping & upon returning she commented that she's NEVER seen this building so ice free as it is today; this is a random person with no agenda against Ed & just an observation out of the blue...today's groundskeeping IS noticeable! Also, since you have copies of the "re-generated" newsletter with AND without Jonathan's signature showing he called himself our Security Guard...I wonder if they do the books on computer also? So...if they're planning on any "funny stuff"...remember...there IS a hard drive!and a third thing...my daughter feels I should find a lawyer & with the video of Friday's meeting, sue Myrtle Clapp...what would that be? Slander? Apparently a petition is going around the building to support Ed; 1 neighbor refused to sign saying she's neither pro nor con on the subject but prefers not to get involved; she was accused by Diane Sciore "you hate Ed!"...and she told Diane off. This tenant is VERY TIRED of hearing my name bashed by tenants & now she told me she knows how I feel since now they all are against HER too!! So the police are Ed's little private "security force". Will Matthiesen look into this?
How curiously silent the local Dems have been on all this except for John Franck. Mayby it's because Brunnelle was the lovely Valerie's pick for the board and she told a whole number of people that she had promised Ed that if she won she would see to it that he got the Director's job which I believe is illegal but wtf McTygue was the villain and she the innocent according to the play they staged. What ever did happen to that FBI investigation?? Hmmmm
