I swear to god that was going to be my last post of the night but we have just received confirmation that Mary Lou Whitney's{yes that Mary Lou} daughter Heather Mabee will be the Reservation Coordinator for Saratoga springs DPW..!!!!! Starting date 2/6/12 which means the "fix is in". Kelly Clark whose name appears on all new Casino contracts was no selected.
The reservation coordinator position was defunded under the Republican controlled council last year but we all know the new Democratic controlled council never met a government job they didn’t like and with Skippy stabbing the Mayor in the back last night it will be hard for Finance Commissioner Michele Madigan and Public Safety Commissioner Christian Mathiesen, to say no to their new sand box buddy Public Works Commissioner Anthony “Skip” Scirocco. Funding for the new position will need to be approved at the next council meeting but with all that ambulance revenue rolling in, the city can afford it.
Why Heather Mabee, chairwoman of the Saratoga Capital Regional Parks Commission would want the position is anyone’s guess
As for the beloved Betty French, the longtime foreman in the Casino? Well political expediency has a price

Sounds like the Spa State Park is planning lay-offs and Ms. Mabee is abandoning ship ?
Maybe P.L.A.N. will take back all their ex-employees from the park.
This should come as no surprise to anyone,the Sciroccos'have been trying to break into the Whitney social circle for years,under scorrocco three things in Congress Park have been renamed in honor of Mary-Lou(no public input on any of it),besdes Heather probably needs some of the generous benefits the DPW offers its' employees,so on it goes...don't forget scirocco got Madigan elected and besides she likes him...Next issue please!...One last side -bar,this past year revenues at the Casino were at a all time HIGH...why in the name of Christ would you want to fire Betty French? Oh,because she's friends with former Commissioner of DPW THOMAS G. MCTYGUE,sorry CV scirocco that's not a reason,funny things can happen to a dog-catcher a librarian and a dentist on the way to the forum...this should be very interesting...paybacks and loyalties and the dues that must be paid.....or else.That's all from here small fry.

2. Why does the Casino need a reservation coordinator?
3. Does it make sense to have the same person promoting the Hall of Springs and the Casino? Don't both entities compete for wedding business?
4. Why does it seem like Brent Wilkes won the election?
5. Who wrote the new "fire-fighter-ambulance operator" resolution? If it was an employee of the City Attorney's office, that person should be terminated for not circulating the resolution to the entire Council. If it was not an attorney, someone is practicing law without license. If it was Commissioner Matheisen's private attorney, God save the City. There is clearly no "sunset clause," only weak "review" language.
6. These are sad and expensive days for the average city taxpayer.
7. Also, to the publisher of the Saratogian: How does a sale and leaseback constitute an "internal transaction? Grab your ripcord.
Well it seems like the Saratogian hit the nail on the head in their 9/24/11 editorial...SOMETHING'S COOKING & IT SMELLS!!!! To quote Skippy.."I really don't have anybody in mind." Let's hope Barbara & staff investigate this move. Let's get a quote from Skippy now, Barbara.
Ask him why he decided after 5 yrs. to take one job paying $50,000doing all the bookings at the Casino, Congress Park, & Carousel, scheduling coverage AND mowing lawns, raking leaves, shoveling snow and turn it into two jobs at the cost of $90,000 or more total? That's sound fiscal spending of taxpayers money!
How can Heather Mabee, who probably has more money that most find it necessary to take a job away from an average person just trying to make a living? Real Nice!
Now let's see if our City Council has the taxpayers interest in mind when Skippy ask them for funding for this job. Anyone willing to lay odds?
Wow Madigan went ballistic went Ivins voted to create the reservation coordinator. She put out a press release condemning him for doing so. Now she will actually fill it.
What I want to know is where the money is coming from to fund this. Skippy came out right before the election saying that if Ivins did not give him the money he requested then he was going to have to lay people off. So who is he laying off to fill this?
If Skippy is not laying anyone off then that means he lied to the voters to just get Ivins out. He is over budgeted and our taxes could have been reduced even more. When are the voters going to wake-up to this fraud?
I also heard that Skippy threatened Ivins saying that he did not fund this position then he would pay politically. I guess that was more than an idle threat. Ivins is out and now that two faced Madigan is giving Skippy exactly what he wanted anyway. It is amazing that Skippy continues to be rewarded for bad behavior.
Skippy, what did Mary Lou promise you for handing this position to her daughter? Will you become her personal bodyguard or her new jockey when you're thrown out on your ass in 2014?
