Well first I must apologize to all my readers. I was in NYC for a couple of days. This was planned long before the meeting was scheduled for Tuesday night. Since my home was broken into I never publicly say when I’m going to be out of town.
But it sounds like you got your message out loud and clear. Kudos go out to Commissioner of Accounts John Franck and Mayor Scott Johnson. But the real heroes of this are you, the residents of Public Housing. You proved that you will stand up to incompetence and corruption. You have not only gotten your dignity back but you’ve been an inspiration. The emperor has no clothes. The carefully crafted cult of personality that Ed Spychalski crafted for himself is gone. Never will residents live in fear of Ed. The only people who seem in denial of this are the Authority board.
The NUN, Charla Commins, comes across as out to lunch as she says in this video.

Dear Commissioner Mathiesen
I am sorry I couldn’t make the meeting last night. I understand there is some confusion over some events that happened to me. This confusion I’m told caused you to refer to me as a “liar” twice during a public meeting. Perhaps this will clear up any confusion.
On Dec 30 2011 I was served by Saratoga Police with a “no trespass” order for all Housing Authority property. This is an indisputable fact. I never alleged six police served me with the notice.
On January 19 2012 I engaged the police department in multiple conversations about my attendance at a Public meeting at Stonequist Apartments of the Housing Authority board. I was told if I set one foot on the property I would be arrested. Over six police were either on the grounds or in the immediate vicinity before and during the meeting. I’ve have no idea if they were solely there for me. But they were there and this has been confirmed by multiple sources including the media. But of course you are free to call citizens whatever you like regardless of the facts.
Second as a champion of open and transparent government I know you will be pleased to learn I will be publishing the complete salaries of all Public Safety personal from 2011 on Sunday night. I’m sure you will agree that this information is vital for the public to know so the true cost of adding more personal to your departments can be fully understood.

Ed Spychalski and Dennis Brunelle are LIARS! In the video from the meeting, Dennis Brunelle said they've been dealing with the bed bug issue since the beginning. How is that possible since they've been DENYING there was even a bed bug problem to begin with?
They have both said there was not a bed bug problem. They both have said they have been dealing with the bed bugs since the beginning.
Which one is it? Sounds to me that Ed,Dennis, and the rest of their clan can't keep their lies straight.
I was the last speaker to comment at Tuesday's Public Hearing. My purpose was to call attention to the efforts of "ED" the Petty Tyrant to keep "JOHN" The Journalist from attending the Public Meeting at the Stonequist facility. At the mike I stated that SIX officers had been at or near the Stonequist facility on the day of the meeting. My earnest and fervent request was that the City Council obtain a complete accounting of how it came to be that the half-dozen officers were assigned that day to enforce the arrogant impudence of "ED" and the entire Rat's Lair known as the Housing Authority.
There was solid applause not for ME, but for the work of "JOHN." No persons used the "Work Session" to challenge the events I spoke of at Stonequist.
After the end of the meeting, I was hurriedly stopped at the Council Chamber door by Commissioner Mathiesen. He aggressively asked if I'd "been at" the Stonequist incident and I said no, my information was from multiple sources. The Dentist then told me that I was "lying" and my story was that of "a liar." I asked if HE had been at Stonequist and he offered a meek and unapologetic "no." I suggested that maybe in fact HE had his facts wrong and was "lying" about a shameful act.
Right then, a resident/witness to the Stonequist Police Response promptly spoke to confirm the SSPD's enforcement action taken in public against "JOHN" the journalist/observer.
Other voices at the doorway agreed, a spontaneous behavior that only emboldened the Dentist to say he'd "spoken to his Chief" and he then repeated... more forcefully... and to my face... telling me that my account of the Stonequist Confrontation was a "lie which should not be repeated."
Now... it would be nice if "JOHN's" good name is not tarnished by a rookie Commissioner. It would be pleasant if I were to receive an apology as public as the insults heaped upon me.
But what MATTERS is that the HEAD of PUBLIC SAFETY clearly EXPLAIN to the Taxpayers of this City how HIS MEN & WOMEN came to be ENFORCERS for the most arrogant, abusive, overpaid, and inhuman tyrant to dishonor whatever vestigial good there may be in the Shameful Infestation lorded over by the teflon-skinned Mr. Brunelle.
During mr brunelles'testimony his PR man was out in the hall texting him responses to questions from comm. Franck,this is not over,these people will be gone,saratoga burning..it will be put out.
Let’s see Mathiesen took the word of Chief Cole over a well-known Citizen blogger and the media.

I will verify that Commissioner Mathiesen did call your friend a liar; I, too, was told when I came down for that meeting that there were "6 officers in there, plain clothes and uniform", and so, since I pretty much had decided days prior NOT to go so attention could NOT focus on me, but on the ISSUE here, I went back upstairs, ONLY to find that, for the first time in my almost 5 yrs living here, our in-house tv channel of the proceedings was - OOPS!-I'm-SO-SORRY-ABOUT-THAT-DISCONNECTED! SO that I could not hear nor see what was taking place, but the 4 residents who I encountered outside the office DID say to me 6 cops are here. SO...though I was not present to see uniforms, I was also told some were plainclothes, so it wouldn't matter, I don't know any of them anyway. Hey, look at me,all I am is a humble person trying to get by every day with a bit of dignity. I didn't sign up to get notoriety of this kind! I did what I did because I was SO heartbroken that for 2 months I'd been cleaning and steaming and washing the color out of my brand new sheets that I couldn't take it anymore; I went to City Hall out of desperation & watching that video of myself at the opening of the meeting Tuesday night further traumatized me to the point of sobbing in the back row, with my WONDERFUL & BRAVE fellow tenants comforting me all the while...I mean, look at these wonderful tenants we have here; THEY are what I did this for! I can only say one thing so as NOT to slander anyone in particular, unlike Myrtle Clapp who slandered me on tape; A LOT OF MEMORY SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN LOST IN THAT HOUSING BOARD OF DIRECTORS!!! I'm wondering if maybe chemicals used by exterminators THEY have going regularly to THEIR OFFICE hasn't affected their memories?? Because a LOT of those people simply "had wrong recollections" and as I stated to Johanna Duschelek,who swore to the Council "NO ONE EVER EVER contacted me about bedbugs" I have a Facebook Inbox dated, where I wrote to tell her I found an adult bug in my tub & Ed would not even address me, she wrote back and said bedbugs don't climb in & out of tubs...so I never wrote her again...but I saved that INBOX...so if you'd like me to meet you somewhere John..I will...with my laptop! But it maybe isn't really necessary to prove THAT when SO MUCH OTHER POOP is hitting the fan, that little misrecollection seems rather miniscule, doesn't it? OH, and I don't know, I've never seen it here or maybe I missed it: NOT ONE of the tenants I've been speaking to has ever got an up to date lease, which also adds 1 more reason why people were afraid to say a thing...no one here has a current lease; if you've moved in in the past 12 months, yours is up to date, but the rest of us? I addressed this issue at MANY meetings with Ed, at least 3, in past YEARS...and was told don't worry about it, the person in the office doing them is a little behind (I thought maybe that would have been one of his 3 jobs)...so I got my original and the next one & nevermore! People feared without a lease in hand they could be evicted if they rocked the boat. ALSO...wondering if it was legal of them to RAISE OUR RENTS exponentially those 2 years we all did NOT get a raise in SSI, SSD & Social Security checks?? Because my rent was raised every single year...yet my SSI never went up...where do I apply for a refund or credit? Dennis Brunelle, I used to have such respect for you. Shame on you!

I don't accept the Mayor's belated response to this very public issue. My understanding of these events shows that Mayor Johnson was a little to late in his real concern for the residents at Stonequist. Given that he knew of this problem as early as last summer, he really needed to to get proactive back then. Instead, after months of doing nothing, he chose to go public just 5 hours before Commissioner Franck was to hold his Public Hearing on the matter. Look at the record...it took the Mayor's office several weeks before they even got engaged with what Commissioner Franck described earlier as a "serious bed bug issue" at Stonequist.
The Mayor's response can only be described as "To Little to Late", and that includes appointing Al Calucci to the existing Board. The current SSHA Board as well as all the administrative staff at Stonequist should immediately resign. the Mayor should expect nothing less.
This whole mess at Stonequist is disgraceful, embarrassing to our community and unacceptable in its current administrative configuration. The Mayor should use the authority of his office to clean house... and I don't just mean the Bed Bugs!
The Saratoga Springs community as a whole should expect nothing less!!

Love Kyle's comment which totally supports John. I am glad that witnesses to this exchange came forward. Mathieson does owe John and Kyle an apology. I am surprised and disappointed. I honestly thought Chris was better than that.

It's reported that Skippy gave out upgrades (promotions) to 8 DPW employees and, because he screwed up the process according to the CSEA Contract, yesterday he had to take back all the upgrades he previously promised.

If Comish Smiles doesn't want to believe that 6 cops were there, what about the other trespass notices issued by police officers? Why not follow up with those? It seems that there have been a handful of situations already mentioned on here where those notices were given without much merit, at the bequest of Ed. It's an officers duty to UPHOLD THE LAW, not just right tickets. We pay 'em enough, they can atleast do their job right for a change.
Although... if they start sniffing around the SSPD, they might notice who's getting promoted down on Lake Ave. The promotion that DIDN'T get a write up in the Saratogian. Maybe that's cause the newly minted Sgt. is just over a year removed from paying out a $$$$ settlement in civil case stemming from allegations he handcuffed a guy to his car, beat him, and called him a terrorist. I can understand how Comish Smiles would take their word for it.
Does anyone know why the housing authority took down their website? Is it possibly because they were trying to hide something else besides the fact that they edited the online newsletters to remove evidence that identified Johnathon as either a security guard or head of security? Or did they take it down just so there's no proof that they edited these newsletters at all?

Broadway News has it right! Skippy was so intent on promoting his "best girl friend, Gerry Loya & some other "friends" that he forgot he had to post the positions first. CSEA told him otherwise even though he continued to state he could promote whoever he wanted, he's in charge.

The Nun said in the one video that because of Ed, the rating has gone up. Of course it has, he runs the place like a prison and everyone is afraid to even look at him in fear of eviction.
These places are supposed to be homes for people to feel safe. Instead he's beefed up the security and trapped them with his abuse. It's a prison, he's the warden, and he employs all of his and his staffs family to be the guards.
