Well the news just keeps getting worse for Keith Raniere and his NXIVM devotees.

Along with the revelation in the series that Raniere is a serial pedophile whose actions either directly or indirectly led to the death of a beautiful young girl under extremely violent circumstances, we now have a new lawsuit that seeks damages against the cult leader’s lawyers and other named leading figures in his cult.
Now Raniere nemeses Joe O’Hara is suing multiple defendants for
1.Damages for a civil conspiracy to harm him
2. Punitive damages claiming a willful and malicious civil conspiracy to harm him
3.Damages for violating his civil rights
4. Punitive damages claiming a willful and malicious violation of his civil rights
5. Damages for violating his constitutional right to privacy
7. Damages for retaliation toward a whistleblower
9. Damages for copyright violations
10. Punitive damages claiming willful and malicious copyright violations
11.Damages for infliction of severe emotional, mental and physical distress.
13. Damages for defamation of character
But what is unique to this suit I believe is the naming of Steve “The MAN” Coffey as a defendants along with
Lippo Pam Nichols
That means boys and girls that the monetary gravy train for this Albanian predatory law firm is cut off. Being named as defendants precludes them for being hired by the Bronfman brats as $600 an hour attorneys for this suit. In fact Coffey will be forced to hire outside council himself and I hear E., Steward Jones don’t come cheap. Funny shit.

So ironic. The very people who casually toss around threats of lawsuits and employ other such bullying tactics in an effort to silence the truth are now starring in their own legal nightmares. One of the more interesting aspects of this case is the naming of so many mid and even low level ESPians, like Siobahn Hotaling, Tast and Ley. These people don't have unlimited money and will be hard pressed to come up with the money to hire legal counsel and could end up bankrupt and worse. Wanna bet on the odds Vandoucebag will foot THEIR legal bills?

Wow, since OHara has alleged that at least some of the defendants have been involved in Illegal activities, I assume that each defendant will need to have their own lawyer. If that's true and if OHara adds all of the individuals that he's thinking of adding, every law firm in the Capital District will end up being involved in this lawsuit. The Albany Chamber of Commerce should give OHara an award for best economic development project of the year!

At the bottom of page 15 of the lawsuit is the money quote of the entire filing: a footnote stating $150,000,000 in loans to NXIVM and cronies with virtually no hope of payback = income. In the eyes of IRS it's taxable income (with no hope of being paid by NXIVM et al)? Ouch.

O'hara's case against the lawyers is going to fail. Motions to dismiss will be promptly filed, and granted on the principle that a lawyer cannot be punished for representing an evil client because everyone has a right to representation.
A lawyer can be punished for abuse of process or malicious prosecution, but the abuse and the malice have to be proven. The law can be used as either a sword or a shield. Which use is noble and which is debased? It depends upon whose ox is being gored.
