Subject: Election Weekend Blitz
This message is going to all Fire Fighters active and retired. This is the last weekend before the election. While we did not publicly endorse anyone, as a group we chose to support Michele Madigan for Finance, Skip for DPW (unopposed), and both incumbent County Supervisors (both Unopposed). Local 343 realizes we must change the dynamic of the council, if we want to have a chance to keep the positions which are currently on the SAFER Grant. I am asking anyone who has time this weekend to help support Madigan or the others we chose to support. There will be phone banks as well as literature drops.
Members who are not available, I ask that you reach out to friends and neighbors, asking them to vote for those we support. If you don't live in the city, contact people who do. This election is extremely important, the politicians elected will be deciding funding of 7 position when the grant runs out. This is the time to go face to face with people asking them to " do you a personal favor" or simply explain the many errors the current commissioner of finance has made.
We will be making phone calls on election day to members who live in the City, reminding them to vote. Member of Local 343 need the help of the retired members, this must be a group effort. Together we can have significant weight to make the difference. I will post information below, including my information. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me. Remeber to Vote on election day.
Thank you,
Joseph J. Dolan

Anything that any union supports is likely to NOT benefit the taxpayers or the citizens of any jurisdiction. Unions are out only for unions. When a union wins, everyone else loses. It's that simple folks!
These new ambulance fees are a fart in the wind anyway. According to medical billing people hired by Dr. Tooth, less then 25% of the people riding the ambulances will have private insurance. Medicare pays about $350 a ride and Medicaid pays only $50. These are the numbers we should basing our figures off, not some pie in the sky numbers cooked up by a dentist and a union.
Hard to feel any sympathy for Saratoga voters who either (1) paid no attention to what these guys said they were going to do or (2) stayed home on election day. This is exactly what Mathieson and Madigan promised the voters they would do. At least they keep their campaign promises. So, hopefully, Saratogians will stop whining and be happy that they got exactly what they asked for.
