and the case of

Against

Paul VEITCH and the City of Saratoga Springs

With full court documents at a later date

In this Video from the last election Brent Wilkes states that most Police and Fireman have a base salary of 30,000 to $40,000. I challenged him at the time, as this video shows and he wasn’t too happy.

In the coming weeks the Tooth Fairy, Chris Mathiesen and his dental assistant, Eileen Finneran will be spinning a tale of how the city needs more cops and Fireman. They will also be spinning numbers like 30,000 to $40,000. That is a Lie.

So the numbers for 2011 are in so let’s see what the Cops and Fireman made and if Brent was right.

The following are all the numbers for the Public Safety Department for 2011. Some at the bottom are part time. This list includes overtime but not benefits which adds about a third to the total cost.

Notice at the bottom I’ve included some recent retires to show you the cost to the city after they leave employment.

Remember the Per Capita Salary income in the past 12 months (2010 dollars) for Saratoga Springs was $35,342 now compare that to the Police and Fireman

Cheap shot at Brent. You've got enough video to let "The Mouth That Roared" speak for himself, dig his own hole... or should I say "Drill his own Cavity"...

Way to ruin a good football game!

Anonymous said...

I thought our illustrious Police Chief was suspended for jerking off in city hall?
The guy still manages to pull down 100k

I heard someone ask Cole why he didn’t just jerk off at home and he said.

Why beat off for free when I can get paid for it?

One Veitch ,two Veitch, three Veitch, four said...

My god is the Veitch family dog on the payroll?

Anonymous said...

Funny you should say that, because I'm pretty sure they Pudgie Paul Veitch took home one of our K-9 units.

Anonymous said...

The Veitch's might need to get the dog on the payroll if they're going keep paying hush money to cover the allegations they abusing private citizens while representing the City of Saratoga Springs.

From US District Court Northern District of NY Document 1:07-CV-0465(GLS/DRH) in the Case of Travis Naja, Plantiff, -v- Paul M. Veitch, Individually and in his official capacity as a Police Officer of the City of Saratoga Springs, Defendants:

"5. Following the execution of the separate General Release executed among the parties, and its being ordered by the Court, the Defendant shall pay to the Plaintiff the sum of $5,000 in full settlement of any and all claims."

What were those "claims" you ask?

From "Complaint Civil Action" in the same case.

"10. That upon information and belief, on April 2, 2005, the defendant PAUL M. VEITCH, did approach plaintiff, without just or probable cause or jurisdiction, stop the vehicle driven by TRAVIS NAJA.

11.That on April 2, 2005, without just or probable cause, and while TRAVIS NAJA was handcuffed behind his back, strike TRAVIS NAJA about the face, chest, and abdomen with a large flashlight, all while calling him a terrorist.

12. That when defendant PAUL M. VEITCH caused the plaintiff to be arrested, he did not possess a good faith basis to believe that plaintiff had committed any criminal offense.

13. That upon information and belief, on April 2, 2005, the defendant PAUL M. VEITCH did, despite the lackk of just or probable cause, agree to and conspire to unlawfully charge the plaintiff with a crime, knowing or having reason to know that there existed no lawful basis for such charge or charges.

14. That all charges brought against the plaintiff were dismissed by the District Attorney of Saratoga County."

Hmm, interesting list here. Let's see who've we've got in the SSPD...

Saratoga Springs (Police & Fire) Veitch, Paul $103,658

Hmm, I thought he was just the guy who screamed "Hate Crime, Hate Crime" to anyone with ears, only to have the DA come out and say there was ZERO evidence to support the hate crime charges the SSPD filed against those Skidmore kids.

Saratoga Springs (Police & Fire) Cole, Christopher $101,869

Chief Cockshot. Earning 6 figures in 11 months of work. What a load of BS

Saratoga Springs (Police & Fire) Quattrini, Linda $93,710

Pretty sure that's the signature all over the log entries the night Merideth Lickowala died under the Supervision of the SSPD in their holding cell. Also, pretty sure you can find her signature on most of the big charges the SSPD cook up and file late at night. The ones that make is sound like a dangerous place in Saratoga, but, for some reason, they never seem to actually PROSECUTE or CONVICT anyone for those charges. Gotta have evidence to support the charges if you want a conviction.

Saratoga Springs (Police & Fire) Barrett, Glenn $93,016

This is guy who filed the trespassing order against JT, no?

Saratoga Springs (Police & Fire) Sicko, Timothy $80,556

Any relation to Stephanie Sicko, involved with the Housing Authority? Husband perhaps?

Saratoga Springs (Police & Fire) Arpei, Richard $76,962

Isn't his brother a cop? What, he resigned? Stalking allegations? Hope he wasn't abusing his power an writing up BS tickets. Wonder how long it will take for Pappa Cole's command security to snatch him up and give him a job in security. I mean they, certainly wouldn't do something like have a guy with a restraining order for how he interacts with young ladies work security at the Vapor Night Club. Ooops, too late.

Saratoga Springs (Police & Fire) Emanatian, Laura$75,840

Remember that time the DA told a cop if they mentioned Jeffery Hampshire previous case in court, it would result in a mistrial. Then the cop went ahead and gave that testimony anyway, and the tax payers had to foot the bill for a second trial? Somebody should pay that cop $75k.

Saratoga Springs (Police & Fire) Braim, Edward $68,708

Remember the story of the boy who cried wolf? Those pesky Skidmore kids. Lotta fight in them. You try to get an edge with a cheap shot from behind, and they still send you to the hospital. Then you come up with a great story about what happened, and ACTUAL WITNESSES come forward and give statements calling you a liar. Assaulting an officer or simply a disorderly conduct. What's the difference? Oh, yeah one's a misdemeanor that carries 5+ years in jail, while the other is $90 fine. Again, funny how far the charges are from the convictions.

Saratoga Springs (Police & Fire) Faden, Russell $68,063

Not easy making ends meet on $68K a year plus benefits. Maybe try opening a Subway on South Broadway. Funny how there's that cruiser parked in front of the place in early morning hours. You know, like when it's not even open. Guess you can never have enough "bacon" for the $5 footlongs.

Saratoga Springs (Police & Fire) Ahigian, Justin $57,557

Hey, it's the guy who made that huge drug bust. And he's only making $50-60K? Hmmmm, does that mean that perhaps decent police work CAN get done at a reasonable rate?

NYS Police and Fire Retirement System City Of Saratoga Springs Moore, Edward F, Retired 12/13/2009 $71,165

Oh yes, Ed Moore. If he is at Saratoga Casino along with the ex-stalker cop would be perfect. I mean, according to the emails, Pat Arpei is itching to blow his brains out with his AK-47 and Moore will be there to handle this situation as smoothly as he did the tragedy at the west side rec years ago.

The most ironic thing about all of these salaries is that Spychalski makes 50% more than any of them. Maybe he's not as dumb as he appears to be.

Anonymous said...

Finneran is now disrupting agenda meetings, chris we supported you and if we knew you were going to appoint such a offensive character as her I don't think my family would have voted for you, didn't the city get enough of her vulgar behavior during the chaotic reign of Val and Juan, the dems get control of the council and it all goes to shit,we hear the dog catcher will never speak to the librarian again, she has a short memory, skippy got her elected and now she puts the dagger in his back, the tooth fairy better get tinker bell under control or he'll have more abscesses than he can handle.

Those are 2010 figures...... and hold onto your panties, the 2011 figures will make those numbers look small.

How many cops and other public service employees buy their cars at Matt's ? And get the "special" discount ?

Anonymous said...

JT once again good job keeping the residents updated on the obscene salaries these folks are pulling down. People need to keep in mind that in addition to these salaries also include health insurance that can be as much as $12,000 a year and retirement costs that can be 20% of their salary.

So an officer making $100,000 actually costs us $132,000. Not to mention accumulated comp and sick time that they will cash in the last three years of service to boost their real retirement. So that $100,000 officer will actually cost us about $140,000 to $170,000.

Add to that a 3% increase a year for the next two years and your 2010 rates look like a real deal.

Also the police are the one onion who refuse to go to the city’s single payer health system. This decision alone is costing taxpayers $300,000 to $400,000 a year (2% of our property taxes). So much for serving and protecting. More like pillaging.

So if this stuff about the settlement is true, where was the Saratogian when it happened? Babs just ran a front page article about the teacher in schuylerville with the dwi charges who's teaching. That guys still waiting trial. This was a plea deal.

Saratoga police should be closed down and replaced with either State of county police.

They have been aloud to do too many things outside of the common law.

Anonymous said...

The Veitch Family is apparently above the law, right along with the Cogan's.

I'd like to know who's paying Officer Noeker on the side. Guy's a scammer- he hassles kids for no reason just for the fun of it.
