One thing that is a reoccurring theme in my life is the Ex-NXIVM apologist. They seek me out for a variety of reasons. Some to explain how the “technology” was good but it was corrupted by Raniere or how their 5 day intensive gave them the courage to speak in public. I guess they somehow want me to validate their experience.
Well let me tell you it ain’t gonna happen.
Newsflash there is no “Technology” never was, never will be.
Sure you were taught a few psychological tricks that you could have learned for free with a library card and a few self-help books. You were conned plain and simple. Now don’t feel bad people are conned every day. As my struggling Ukrainian and Russian friends say who fight for every dollar they make. Johnnnn you fucking Americans are soooooo stupid. Harsh yes, but sometimes it takes someone who really works hard for their money to see a con man for what he is.
And con man is exactly what Raniere is as this exclusive video shows from the GURU’s younger days. Back then he was just a struggling alleged pedophile hanging around middle schools trying to make eye contact with vulnerable children while putting the skills he learned hawking Amway to good use. But even then it didn’t take long for his paper empire to fall apart.
See Raniere hasn’t changed, he’s still preying on the people who think if they just find the “right tools” or “Technology” they will be rich or happy or get laid more or even once, but in the end all NXIVM will leave you is a little poorer and hopefully a little wiser and the first step to that is admitting to yourself.
There is no “Technology” I was scammed!

Half of life is showing up and be grateful for what you have, learn from what you fucked up and admit your mistakes and try not to make them twice. As long as you can walk, have enough to eat, a place to sleep and your soul isn’t bound to a cult you’re doing pretty good. There wasn’t that sage advice?
And like most of the truly good advice you receive that hasn’t been twisted by cult serving “data” it’s free.

John, thanks for mincing no words and explaining to ex-NXIANS what they desperately need to hear.
Both through reading the thoughts of ex-members on this blog and through my own personal experiences with ex-members, it gets really old, really quickly when listening to them trying to explain 'the benefits' of NXIVM.
Yes, there ARE helpful psychological 'tricks' and bits of useful information contained within the group's teachings, but ALL of that information is FULLY INTERTWINED with the network marketing aspect. And as you pointed out, NONE of the 'technology' offered by NXIVM is either original OR unavailable for free from other sources.
There are ex-NXIANS who believe that by simply removing Raniere and/or the MLM aspect from NXIVM would somehow make it a 'good' and 'beneficial' organization. It wouldn't. What would remain would be nothing more than routine self-help stuff available everywhere for free.
Thank God for you John, I love you!
And my John would have loved you too, I know he's watching and waiting for the monster to fall.

Just a few funny thoughts
First, Maybe Jim Odato should have contacted that reporter and compared notes about how many times he called Raniere and his attorneys, with no answer! Looks a pattern!
Second, Can we get that DA here in Saratoga or in the Albany area? A real DA that's not bought off by Raniere and the B-Brats money.
And while were at it, how about that AG stepping up!

Good post. It is so hard for people to admit they have made a mistake. So conmen, like Raniere, play on that. The more money, time and self you have invested, the more distance you have put between your self and family and friends, the harder it becomes to just say=duh-I was conned. Some people like Bouchey want to use the same con but w/o Raniere. I don't know if this makes her worse than him or just the same. It would just be sad except the little dude is a dangerous sociopath. At least Sarah is getting away and her hubby to be may not be inclined to send a lot of cash to Clifton Park.

This is s brilliant summary of one of the most confounding aspects of NXIVM: i.e, the fact that some of its victims are still trying to justify all of the time and money they wasted on Raniere and his patent-rejected "technology." Sometimes you just have to suck it up in life, admit that you made a mistake, and move on.
Yeah, you were conned...but that happened because you wanted to believe that Raniere's snake oil was a short-cut to happiness. Well, guess what, Bunky, there are no real short-cuts in life. So dust yourself off, get back out on the playing field, and try to do better.
As for Raniere? That mother-fucker (and daughter-fucker and little girl fucker) should be isolated from human beings for the rest of his life. Or at least assigned Bubba as his cellmate.
My friend and mentor Ketih Raniere taught me to only shine a light on the path I am taking.

If you only shine a light on "the path you are taking" then you never see the other paths that are possible - and perhaps better than the path you are on. For a group that espouses making rational decisions based on data amassed it seems a bit contradictory to put blinders on and only shine a light on one path. You have a brain of your own - use it. You don't need Keith to do your thinking for you.
