Saratoga Springs Housing Authority Board of Commissioner Chairman Dennis Brunelle wants to stay on as Chairman of SSHA.

Every time I go to these SSHA board meeting I know how Alice felt when she fell down the rabbit hole. Above me on the wall booms the disembodied voice of Eric Weller from parts unknown. Citizen informants sing the praises of Supreme ruler.

Breaking News

WNYT SLAMS ED SPYCHASLSLI’S SALARY

This woman practically threatened anyone who criticized Ed Spychalski.

Brunelle states that despite the fact the Mayor has repeatedly inferred that he should not seek reappointment. he categorically states he wants not only to be reappointed to the board but he wants to continue as chairman. This leaves the Mayor no choice but to publicly humiliate the man when he is replaced in 10 days.

The board also said it wasn’t renewing the option on Spychalski’s contract which really means nothing as he still has four years left.

Ed’s wife the recipient of the board’s largess sings the praises of her husband Saint Ed, but of course she does living in a mansion paid for by your tax dollars that makes Keith Raniere’s home just down the road look like a shack.

Man if ever there was one group that needed a reality check it’s this bunch of loons.

i tried to watch the entire video of Ed's wife but i just couldnt stomach it.

Brunelle is a short-timer, can't wait for "the moment of truth" when Mayor Johnson drops the hammer on him.

He is done in this community from this point forward

It's very convenient for Weller to be Skyped in order to "attend" meetings.
But if he is away somewhere, how can he really be in touch with what is happenind here? The only feedback he is going to get is from his buddies like Brunelle and Spychalski.
He is nothing but a rubber stamp.

Somebody please stick a fork in Denny,Mayor you got the fork, judging from the number of resdents at that meeting he won't be missed, besides they got"Uncle AL the seniors Pal now!

QUESTIONS THAT NEED ANSWERS:

1. Do the Board members get paid - and, if so, how much?

2. Does Brunelle receive an additional payment as Chairman?

3. Why was Spychalski's wife at the meeting - and why was she allowed to speak?

try bashing the marine, you all know where I live or used to live...that's right, I moved out, gave my notice...my lease ends the end of march, you can all find me there next week, cleaning my apartment....does this mean I will stop.....hell no!....Ed needs to go and for all his followers, well you can go with him.......because I will not quit......it was me who gave the info to John.....so leave the woman out of this.....it's funny no one says anything to me, cause they know better.

The big bad marine is so scarey. The woman is a bum. Both of them.

Board members don't get paid.
Spychalski's wife spoke during public comment part of meeting--she was there to support her man.

Channel 10 news reporter tonight said the Mayor said nice things about the SSHA board actions today--moving in the right direction, etc. I don't know-Brunnelle went out of his way to praise Ed when he introduced the motion to not extend his contract to the 5th year. Said it was no reflection on Ed. On TV Brunelle said it gave them "breathing room" to take a look at the contract. Breathing room? 4 more years! I guess you could call that "breathing room." How much "breathing room do you need to see that ed's contract is way out of line. The Board was totally behind Ed and said not a disparaging word about his performance. They also went out of their way to retroactively apporve Ed's hiring of his daughter. That hardly seems like "moving in the right direction". I like the Mayor and have supported him but I am increasingly worried that he might reappoint Brunnelle because today's meager action of not extending the contract for a 5th year (while praising Ed and affirming the practice of nepotism) is "moving in the right direction". Please tell me this won't happen

It's happening. Especially after channel 13's weak attempt by John Kauffman to dis-credit the Housing Authority. Party is over.

Integrity? I'm sorry but you don't have integrity when you're being condescending and passive aggressive in your speech Mrs. Spychalski. You don't know AT ALL what Ed does and says when you're not around. Bullying tenants (such as myself) isn't what integrity is about. All those people who sing his praises has never endured his wrath. If they did, they'd want him gone too. For people who claim to believe in god, they should know better. Kathy, Katie, certain maintenance men, and Ed... When your time comes I'm sure your elevator is going to go down. It's very sicking how he, and his staff, get away with treating people. They should be ashamed of themselves. People aren't coming forward with claims of retaliation and bullying just for giggles. As sue happy as Ed seems... if these "claims" were untrue, he'd be suing us all left and right. But he knows very damn well it's all true. I'm moving to Germany in 3 months, but that doesn't mean I can't help those who have to live every day in fear of what he'll do next, like I did.

We see Brunelle at the Racino a few times a week and we can tell you he's not winning.
I heard he's into Ed big-time for some loans to pay off his gambling debts.

If we've learned one thing from John since he's started this blog, it should be that in this day and age, with so much technology available at such low prices, a $60 investment in a camera can do WONDERS to cut the BS and get to the truth.

The insurance companies have been documenting their interactions for years to protect their clients and representatives from any "he said, she said" mumbo jumbo. Perhaps it's time more public operations did the same.

Throw a camera with audio in Sicko's office. When tennants come in to voice a concern, she simply asks them to sit down, turns on the camera, and records the video and the audio of the entire exchange. At the end of the exchange, it gets uploaded, and a copy of the exchange, and a scanned copy of the paperwork gets emailed to the tenant, and the tenant gets CC'd on all correspondance regarding it. If the tenant brings a thumb drive, they can have the scans of the paperwork and the video exchange put on there as well.

Get another flip cam for maintenance. When they come up to investigate a problem in a room, they bring the camera, document the tenants concerns and the evidence of the problem. When they're done, the send a copy of the video back to Sicko, CC the tennant in it, along with documentation of what steps they recommend should be taken to correct it, and their timeline for the project will be complete.

When they come back to correct the problem, they again bring the camera, record evidence that the problem was fixed and include that video in a follow up email to Sicko, again CC'd to the tennant, letting them know the issue has been resolved.

I understand every resident might not have access to an email, and if they don't, I'm positive both John and Al, along with plenty of the other posters on here, would be more then happy to spend a few afternoons helping people set up free email addresses.

It's a simple solution that would put to rest any future concerns about actions taken by the staff, or inaction, and allow the Mayor, the City Council, and the housing authority board, to have oversight of every single situation the housing authority staff is involved in if future concerns arise.

Best of all, it would be as easy as Skyping into a meeting.

That one woman was very threatening toward Franck and to any tenant who is complaining. Her rant was very disturbing. Of course she didn't deny that everything the "informant" was saying was true. This woman should be the subject of a no trespass order for threatening tenants. she should be investigated for threatening a public official. Imaging if John made so comments. He's be in jail.

Anonymous said...

I would love to see that. Throwing a 75 year old lady in jail because she poohed all over poor little John Franck. Sounds like she is only pointing out one person that lives there. The one that is now old news.

JT
Do you mean WNYT?
Please elaborate on the Breaking News.
Thanks

I think that 75 year old lady is a little soviet style apartment capo. I found her comments disturbing. One of the reasons Public Housing is such a mess in this city is Ed plays on tenent off the other.
He also finds and favors the natural bullies in the building and encourages them to intimidate any wood-be complainers. I think he has also set up a tenant spy system that Stalin would approve.

Yea and sorry to Channel 13 I meant WNYT

Ed's wife lives in a mansion and lectures the people living in public housing. She states there is no evidence of the accusations.

How about:
1) The proof of trips to Vegas?
2) The proof of a time line of bedbug complaints being ignored?
3) The proof of Housing Authority vehicles in his yard?
4) The proof a 100% pay increase?
5) The arrogant caviler attitude he displays?
6) The fact that he employs his family members?
7) The fact that he bullied John with a no trespass order?
8) The fact that he hired a PR firm at the expense of the taxpayers?

These accusations have been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Ed dose not deny them.

To edward's little cunt of a wife,

Nobody said your gravy train husband didn't do anything good - they said he did many despicable things as well. Just because he completed a building project means he " must be ethical". Go ask Jim Coyne about completing a major projects with ethics you dumb little twat

While I think you are wrong, John, for allowing the 10:14 comment through, I watched the video and found Mrs. Spychalski's words to be empty and delusional. I also think Mr. Spychalski's judgement and thought process of allowing his wife to speak on his behalf should be examined. If it's necessary to bring your wife along to the board meeting, it would be appropriate if she is there for moral support, not to give a speech.

That being said, I'd like to let the Spychalski's know one thing- taxpayers don't want to pay for extravagance. Personally, I don't mind paying for subsidized housing, food stamps, medicaid... I DO mind paying salaries that are out of line, trips for training that require a plane ticket, multiple vehicles for personal use, jobs for your kids and expensive office furniture. During a time in this country when people are struggling to make ends meet, it is an outrage to those taxpayers when they see such waste. And when the very people who pay your large salary question you, the lack of appology and the attitude of "I can do what I want" is also very disturbing.

Mrs. Spychalski, you spoke of helping the tenants by baking cookies or taking them to the grocery store. All great ideas... when do you volunteer your time for these activities? Did your husband give one of the residents, resident's children or grandchildren a $30,000 a year position with the Housing Authority? Nope, he gave that job to your daughter. It seems, to the struggling taxpayer, that you and Mr. Spychalski aren't as concerned with helping residents as you are with helping yourselves and your family.

Sorry, the 6:51 comment is uncalled for, not 10:14.

From what I hear Allen Drive happened inspite of Ed Spychalski not because of him. Lots of delays due to his not following through and doing what he needed to do.

A note on this comment
To edward's little cxxt of a wife.
Yes I did allow it for two reasons
1.Ed’s wife threw herself in the middle of this when she voluntarily gave her little tirade about Saint Ed in a public meeting. She also personally was a beneficiary of Ed’s obscene salary and benefits and she is accused of driving authority vehicles.
2. Although the comment “edward's little cxxt of a wife” is crass and distasteful the rest of the comment had merit.
So to sum up if the comment only said “To edward's little cxxt of a wife” I would have deleted it but because the body of the message was fair I allowed it
But finally to my posters please try to keep it if not civil at least slightly in good taste

Again, well-said JT. On this blog civility seems to spread "from the head down." Perhaps it's because of the respect you've earned, perhaps it's because of the wealth of Facts to be found in your postings. Whatever it is, this blog proves that Passion need not be an invitation to Profanity. Of course, wackos will always have a forum for their rants of nonsensical words of their own invention. Go, figure.

I seen the the pic of Nazi Ed hanging up in the elevator of stone quist apartments this weekend, he looks just like Hitler in his little SS uniform. I would like to know who did this, so I can shake his or her hand......I think one of his goons took it down, I'm sure there's more to come.

someone I know said your blog should NOT be called saratogaindecline..you are doing one bang up job John! And there are people who think your blog should have a nicer name...cuz this blog ROCKS! As for Weller...he can't even hear what's being said since there's a lag in the Skype system, and so his "attendance" & participation is really moot...why isn't he here in attendance? does he despise the Board THAT MUCH??? hahahahahaha...and hahahahahaha again
