Ed Spychalski's empire just got smaller

The empire Ed built just keeps on crumbling after he and Saratoga Springs Housing Authority Manager Gerard Hawthorn resigned from the board of the Saratoga Affordable Housing Group after their meeting at 8:30 am Tuesday at Longfellow’s at Saratoga Lake.

Housing Authority gadfly John Kaufmann had tried to attend the meeting but was unceremoniously told to leave by Dennis Brunelle who was the chairman of the Saratoga Springs Housing Authority Board of Commissioners until he refused to resign and wasn’t reappointed by city Mayor Scott Johnson.

I have long been troubled by the cloudy relationship between the SSHA and the nonprofit Saratoga Affordable Housing Group. They basically had a monopoly over affordable housing in the city and both were effectually puppets of the will of Ed Spychalski. Piss off Ed your chances of finding decent affordable housing in the city were zero.

Many people have accused me of abandoning the city but I can attest to the scarcity of affordable housing, relocating to Milton only after an extensive search for anything decent for $800 to $1000 a month proved fruitless. Thanks to friends I was able to secure my current location that accepts pets and doesn’t mind I’ve been stalked by the NXIVM cult, but like MacArthur when my current pets die of old age to the delight of some and the chagrin of others I shall return.
That said I’m in a unique position to know just how important that a fair and honest Affordable Housing Group is in the city.

I’m afraid this group with the messy co mingling of funds along with the letter from Grassely that states
“SSHA financial documents do not indicate that SSHA has any nonprofit affiliates”

Somebody is lying or trying to cover up something and I still want to know about the contract with A J Arpey Inc who the Affordable Housing Group. paid $1,074,941 in 2010.

Till next time I’ll be at the Saratoga Tattoo Expo HERE at the civic center. Wait till our intrepid Commissioner of public morality Christian Mathiesen gets a look at these folks at 4am. You know Chris maybe you should broaden your horizons a little. Prejudice can take many forms. Just because you may not like the way someone looks or dresses it’s your problem not theirs. That was until you were voted into power. With power comes reasonability and hopefully wisdom, try using both for a change and lighten up. Hell come on down and get some ink.

And once the Doc gets his ink, maybe he can take a short stroll to Franklin Street and stand in front of #66. As he stands there, let him read the written reports of the many Public Safety warnings and alerts. And then, in an inky silence, let him ponder exactly why NO City Official has ever been allowed to APPEAR in any major Courtroom scenario. EVERY time a Judge calls for a meeting of the minds, City PS officials have been "unavailable" to testify. Come on Mr. Commish, look at 66 Franklin and find the words to express your outrage.

You need to speak with Eileen Kyle. She writes the script and the priorities. 66 Franklin just isn't on the agenda because it serves no purpose for the agenda.Just watch the shuffling of paper and notes at the meetings. The Prgressive agenda is the mentality that they know what is better for you and the city than you know or the taxpayers know. A swamp gets more importance than public safety because it serves a purpose. Underminding the Mayor and his supporters serves a purpose because it fits the agenda. He has to go because he represents the people and that doesn't fit the agenda. You are an intelligent person and if this is not clear enough to you God Bless.

A little bird told me that money from the city [thru the mayors office] is mixed with SSHA money for the project out church st. John please look into that because that is against the law!!

It's time for the Mayor to stop pondering the meaning of "oversight": as expressed by the Federal Government HUD authorities. It's time for the City to take action to declare Spychalski's contract null and void! The question that needs to be answered here is why is Scott Johnson running cover for the SSHA Board and what appears to be their ties to the covert Not-For-Profit Low Income Housing scandal??

I keep hearing the name Benton mentioned. Will someone please explain how Benton is connected to this mess?

And why aren't we making more of a fuss about the screwup by the assistant city attorney in his (alleged) erroneous interpretation of the SSHA fiasco??

The dollars for the Churcch St. Project were bonded and used by DPW for their contract. Not possible to transfer bond money to other projects. Lew benton's name keeps popping up because he was involved in the initial deal with the Blodgett property. No one has come forward with anything factually to render Tony Izzo's opinion not realisitic. You can speak with 15 attornies and they all have their view. Contract is binding and legal. There has been no documentation to misuse of funds. You can't make this stuff up. Just keep reading the papers that have misrepresented 75% of the contract to date. I'll bet no one on this commentary even knows the date of the legal contract.
