A fine man named Jim Combs, from Adirondack Radiology took time out of his busy day to walk up to Uncommon Grounds to meet me this morning in Uncommon grounds. In an unbelievable act of generosity he offered to do the CT scan for free.
I will always be grateful for this offer and it restores my faith in humanity.
This is what I told him.
I have insurance and just paid a premium last Friday. That this was not just about me but the other sixteen people canceled. My CT is scheduled for Wednesday at Saratoga Hospital. My insurance must pay for it. We have a contract and I want 1199SEIU to honor our contract. I and my wife are not charity cases. Yes we are the working poor who can no longer afford to live in my home town but we get by.
I also realize that there are many people who are worse off than me. They have two much income for help but not enough to buy insurance. Please give an uninsured person the CT you kindly offered me.
I am also not suicidal. I would like to take you up on your offer if they cancel me for the third time. Again I thank you for your kindness.

I would urge my readers to support this kind of Journalism and buy a copy today. I will have a link here tomorrow when it’s available. The story has a color shot of Bruno the dog it mentions NXIVM and calls me a “gladfly”. I will always be grateful to the TU. From Jim Odato visiting me in intensive care in Albany Med to Denis Yusko covering the Housing Authority and now Chris Churchill helping spotlight my insurance woes they are an important asset worth supporting. I now have my CT scan tentatively slated for Wednesday.
And I am aware of today’s Charter Change developments in the Saratogian HERE . This is going to be a long battle and it isn’t going anywhere so this is my only comment on that particular development . Fell free to post your own comments here or on in the last Charter Change post

The liberal mind would blame this on George W. Bush. The reality is, THE UNION DID IT! NY, stand up now and demand to be a RIGHT TO WORKMSTATE, as Indiana did earlier this year! Give workers their rights back!

I have tough skin. Unions are the scourge of mankind. Eventually people will wise up and see how they are being used and abused. I was a union member for over 30 years.
Well in all fairness to Bob, he's right. This is a Union denying paid for health coverage with no notice. A union who got one of the first waivers from Obama Care. A union who donates heavily and often to Obama and other union supporting politicians at state and Federal levels. A union who occupies Wall Street and claims to be just one of the 99% while giving themselves huge bonuses at the expense of their members' health insurance. Oh yeah, let's attack Bob. Unions almost never act for the benefit of their members --- only for the benefit of the leadership and their plush 6 figure salaries and inflated benefits. The laugh at the rank and file and call them "sheep" behind their backs.

I talked too a good friend of mine today about skidmore giving all the leftover student belongings to the track workers and your battle with the union for insurance and the fact that your wife just had a mass removed and works their..
He told me that every year for the past 12 plus years his crew would repaint all the dorm rooms and comon spaces at skidmore.
He said that he had never seen so much black mold in his life and had to scrap it off with a puddy knife,he also tried too BINZ the stainds but they kept coming back,he said your wife should get tested for mold posioning..
We were discussing the story about the track workers getting free mini fridges,mattress,and microwaves.
We both said well,,,, when the track workers go home who pays for the dumpster and the hazmat charges on the mini fridges.
We both concluded that we the taxpayers will because Skidmore beat the rap AGAIN and now it is the TAXPAYER STATE OWNED TRACK that has to deal with the mess and foot the cleaning costs to dispose of all that FREE JUNK....
Think about it....WTF
jt why is it that you are denied medical but these poor backstretch workers recieve full medical,dental,clothing,free food & drinks, free bingo nites,basket weaving classes,movie nite,free hair cuts& shave,free rent,laundry,not to mention many work for the horse trainers 5:00am-11:00 am then they walk across the track and work another8 hrs with (union benifits) if you go out to walmarts on thurs nites (payday)you will see long lines of poor backstretch workers sending thousands straight back to So america,none of it goes back into the local community.i know this because i've been working along side them for 15 yrs i am working poor who afford health insureance so me and my wife go without
