"Police received several calls Thursday night from people reporting that Pierce was threatening people with two knives, describing one as “machete-like” and the other as a large, straight knife, but when police arrived at Vanderbilt Terrace and searched the surrounding area they could not locate Pierce and left."
Does anyone else see a problem here? So we have a maniac with a machete running through public housing and the police could care less. Then he comes back.
Shortly thereafter, police received more calls saying Pierce was trying to force his way into a woman’s house. Again they responded. Again, police could not locate him, but stayed in the area interviewing people and talking to Pierce’s family and friends. Pierce turned himself into police Friday morning at around 10:30 a.m. without incident.
Dam good thing he turned himself in or the man would still be out there. Now if some of the perpetrators of Saratoga Springs unsolved murders would be so kind as to turn themselves in we might actually solve a crime in the city. HERE

And what is Public Safety Commissioner “toothy” Christian Mathiesen response to all this you ask? Glad you did. He’s going down to speak at the County Board of Supervisors Tuesday meeting to lecture them about how he is smarter and wise than all of them put together. According to him if they would just listen to his wise council and close the bars at 3 am Saratoga could go back to being a somnolent little town.
Now Anthony "Skip" Scirocco. Commissioner of Public Works is a man with a plan. To combat the ever-growing weeds and decay in the cities once award winning flower beds, Skippy is proposing the cities first Milkweed festival.
This could not come soon enough as even the Congress Park squirrels are showing signs of depression.
This after his original proposal for a dandelion festival was shot down.
And how is Marcia White SPAC President holding up in all this heat you ask?Well I hear she’s doing pretty well in her new three quarter million dollar home.
I wish I could say the same about the ballet dancers in this heat.

According to the Saratogian police reports, there were no arrests made by Saratoga Springs police from July 11 through July 13.
Is the department on cruise control, (as in coasting, going through the motions etc

Honestly, if I'm in the terrace I feel safer with the guy walking around with two knives then I do with any of the disgraces we've pinned badges on walking around near my house.

In 2008 Commissioner Scirocc0 started with 153 employees. In 2012 he has 121 employees. Do you want lower taxes or do you want more employees. I remember theCommissioner say that this would happen when the lay offs took place. Kelly got a raise when she took over some of Joy's jobs. Do you remember her? It is time that we have some one who can generate some money for the City. By promoting what we have. It doesn't matter if that person has money of their own or not, it is what that person can do for the City.
Remember that Tommy hired most of the emp;oyees that work for the City. Rob who is Super of the Flower Crew was Tommy's Son in law. And the Flower vender has had some problem geeting the flowers for the City.
Maybe Pastor Pete and Al Colucci can patrol the Terrace more often. Where were they when this was going on? Cleaning the pastors apartment perhaps. Lord knows it needs to be cleaned.

John, you are so funny! But, seriously, how can you leave an apartment complex filled with children and elderly people when there is someone threatening people with a machete? What else was going on that was more important? If there is even a hint that a criminal is within a block of a school the school goes into lock down and half a dozen police cars show up. I would have thought there would be a more aggressive response to a maniac with a machete in an apartment complex like the Terrace. We are lucky this story did not have a more tragic end.
Could be because the story is more BS than truth! Yes there was a guy there but yes the cops did respond an they caught the perp.
The perp was not arrested till he walked into the police station the bent day.The truth hurts sometimes but out right fabricates don't help your cause.

What's the big deal here. There's plenty of coverage in the terrace. It's like 2 mins from the terrace to Officer Russ' Subway on South Broadway, and there's always cruisers there. Too bad it doesn't look like any of the cops are trying Jared's veggie delight diet.

You're right that Kelly took over for Joy, that was her "new" job after her 2nd DWI when she couldn't drive to read water meters anymore. Then when Lois & Donna were laid off she was given an extra $3,000 to take on their job duties. They are both back, was any money returned to the taxpayers? NO! Now Skippy wants to pay $70,000 for his Reservation coordinator job, a job that was already being done with revenue increase.

I don't where you get your infromation from but in Skippy's Office there is Kelly, Joette, Kathy, Lois part time,Donna and Barbara, who share her work load with the engineer's office. All of those employees where hired by Tommy for except Donna, but then there was Joy. Skip has less employees. And he hasn't replaced Billy, he has taken on that task also. Skippy has done a wonderful job. R.C. job was going to be 42,000, the women has a Marketing degree, it wasn't just answering the phone. It was to market all of the different sites. There is money to be made there, and we aren't doing anything about it.
Skippy Really is a HORSES ASS,he lets his people tell him what to do,and listens to the opinion of crackheads and based on that makes decisions..
He has been their years and the city still looks like SHIT......
July 17 7:23 First off Skippy couldn't wait to get rid of Bill McTygue & if he's taken on that job as well, he sucks at it just like he sucks as Comm. Skippy hired Kathy Moran & Donna Buckley a position that had never been filled in all the yrs. McTygue was in office. Skippy had to fill it because he can't do his job & depends on her to run the dept. She's running in into the ground along with the moral of the whole dept. in dpw & city hall. The RC job didn't need to be created, revenue has increased at the casino for the past 5-6 yr. It promotes itself. That position would have pd. $70,000 with the benefits that would be included & the Comm. stated this position would increase revenue by $50,000. A $20,000 LOST!! He now has Kelly in city hall doing that job & removed the supervior from the casino/park & has her counting bags & handing out tools while the park looks like crap. The people down there are working without any supervision & it certainly shows big time!!! Everyone in the city is complaining about how bad the park & b'way are. Skippy is running the beauty of this city into the ground. Poor Mary Lou and her roses, they are a disgrace!
Kathy Moran took the place of JoAnn, he didn't add a person. I think that I hit a nerve. City Hall has nerve looked better. Tommy only did the stuff that you could see, not Scirocco. Look at the hani cap ramp in the park, how old is that? Wong kind of brick. All of the slider at the Merry go round need to be replaced, hadn't done any work at the Water Works in almost 40 years. Senoir Center, I could go on and on. Skip treated Billy better than his brother did. And Dude Dehn is taking care of Mary Lou's rose garden.

All Supervisior are out working with the team, but not Betty. She should have been in City Hall answering the phone, she didn't do any thing special at the casino.Jan does all of the work.
