New Petition to keep gun show.

As my close friends know I’ve been a lifelong gun owner, safety instructor, pistol permit holder ,federal firearms dealer{I voluntary turned in my license in 2008}. While I don’t hunt I enjoy the company of those who do and have a freezer full of venison. So I have watched with interest the gun show debate unfold. My biggest complaint with gun shows has always been the sky-high prices. As A dealer I was able to see the wholesale price of guns and was always shocked to see markups as high as 300%. Dealers are now jacking up their prices to 500%. My interest in guns has always been as a collector of antiques. Friends lucky enough to have seen some of my collection have been delighted to see rare and beautiful firearms dating back to the 18th century. One of my muskets now has a home in the Dublin museum. I enjoy black powder shooting and teaching young adults how to properly use and shoot weapons. And yes I do own a AK-74.
So anyway if you are fore the gun show taking place, like it has for 20 years consider signing this petition to not bow to pressure from largely misguided but well-meaning souls.

I see no need to own a "AK-74", as your blog identified the gun.

Then don't buy one. I see no need for a Lamborghini that can top 200mph but I'm not trying to stop a car show.

The sudden knee-jerk need to ban a perceived threat by the uninformed, ignorant few who have no understanding of what they want banned will have wide spread repercussions against the constitutional rights of our children and their children. If you stand against the right to own firearms, please be well informed about what you stand against. A Saratoga soccer mom with half-baked concepts of firearms and gun control has started a petition to try and ban the upcoming gun show in the city of Saratoga Springs. She believes that stopping this show will prevent firearms from existing in the city of Saratoga Springs. Gun show or not, firearms are available at no less than 15 stores within 25 minutes of the city. Please stand with me to support our gun rights and gun shows.

What is a gun?

I own a rifle.
I own two revolvers.

I don't own any guns.

As the famous song goes, in the Corps, ...........this is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for fighting, this is for fun.

Let the registered gun owners take responsibility for their guns (portable firearms). Someone steals it and uses it - they are responsible. Need more cops at schools, let the registered gun owners pay for that. Outlaw automatic weapons with a buyback. Let's have a universal gun insurance program, paid for by gun owners - like nofault insurance. Want to own an automatic weapon - then join the club and pay for its misuse. Must have one of those BushMasters in your house? Disable it. The Second Amendment doesn't entitle anyone person to an arsenal - it was written for militias. Assault weapons are for anarchy.

We banned drugs in the the city, the state, even the whole country. How's that going for us?

I think banning car shows and on street parking would be better for the community then banning a gun show. I mean, when's the last time a citizen of Saratoga was sent to the hospital because a gang of drink cops shoved them into a table full of antique pistols?

Well, John, where do you stop?

How about grenades or Claymore mines?

They're a blast to fire off.

Where do you fucking draw the line.

I don't think any one gives two shits about about pistols and rifles for hunting, target practice, or protection as long as one has been qualified.

But letting automatic military type weapons become a part of the the mainstream general population has been a mistake.

Shit, ask the guys in Viet Nam how often they used there M16s on fully automatic. Almost never, they didn't want to waste their ammo.

how many people in saratoga springs ever had to use their gun for self defense because somebody was breaking into their house?

@12:57 - Must happen more then you think. All the cops wear bullet proof vests to patrol the city

you forgot the tazers that the cops carry.....and they do use them. Ask the guy who got tazed off the roof and broke his shoulder.

I just watched a recent news video of matt lauer live at sandyhook talking to pete Williams legal corespondent for NBC
Pete Williams states information from federal and state officials that the shooter had FOUR handguns and the ar15 was locked in the car trunk and never fired ,,,some also say that the car did not belong to the shooter......
See video at msnbc.msn.com/today.number#50208495
So I guess Matt Lauer and NBC Lied on live TV,,,Their was NO AR15 USED

Guns Drugs and Money

Justin Moran RIP

28,000 people a year killed by guns every year

116,000 people killed by drug overdoses every year

There must be a better way, because what we are or are not doing is not working.

Could care less about having a gun show in Saratoga. Get rid of it. Maybe there's a contract for this year. Hopefully this will be the last year.

This is god.

I have decided to post on john’s blog because he is a known true believer.

I command everyone to read my words and obey them.

This is the eleventh commandment.

I want to let you people know that the true believers who enter my kingdom in heaven can be kicked out and sent to hell if they leave their assault weapons or high volume magazines on earth and these items fall into the wrong hands and kill innocent people.

Have a nice day.

The problem isn't the class of guns that are out there, its the class of people. Want to solve social problems like gun violence and drugs? How about reenstate the draft! The problem is there's no rites of passage in this society and we have a bunch of children running around in adult bodies, trying to raise their children and they have no clue what it actually is to be an adult. Those who give up their freedoms for a temporary sense of safety deserve neither! And yes jackass, troops in viet man had automatic weapons and they used them too much! I was in the Corps as an infantry man and our weapons only had 3 round burst because of all the ammo that was wasted, firing on fully auto into the woods at noises in viet man! Learn your history before you make your opinion known.
