Once again I find myself with picture in the Times Union. As far as I’m concerned anytime you’re in the paper and you’re not under arrest or dead it’s a good thing. This story by Chris Churchill, is a follow up on three stories he wrote for his column the “Advocate”

As the story says my recent CT scan was within acceptable levels with a couple spots on my liver. Friends know my adventures in the HUB bar and Caroline St were the stuff of legends in my younger days {I haven’t drank in 20 years} and that would explain the spots. The Doctor wants another CT scan in three months to check.

Trust me, a year ago I was fighting for my life in intensive care in Albany Med so this year I’m looking forward to a nice summer. No one lives forever and each one of us is born into life owing God a debt. That debt is a death. Whenever that debt comes due, my last thoughts will be a thank you to God for granting me a wonderful life.The next few weeks might be difficult for me. I understand the importance of newspapers in today’s world. The Times Union is blessed with some wonderful investigative reporters. Jim Odato, Denis Yusko and Chris Churchill are an incredible asset to the community. That said I will continue to look in J. Robert Port, the TU’s Senior Editor for Investigations. And please remember just as one bad cop shouldn’t give an entire Police force a bad name one rouge reporter shouldn’t tannish a whole paper.

Well I return to Saratoga and my first thought was. Holy fuck call the cops, some bastard stole every flower on Broadway. Really here we are almost June 1 and just a couple dandelions, some duck shit and a thousand cigarette butts.

Really I was at the Council meeting where Anthony "Skip" Scirocco. Commissioner of Public Works was given $20,000 for the procurement of flowers. I ain’t no CPA but 20k will buy a lot of petunias. So where are they Commissioner?

You know when I come home and see this kind of deterioration in the city it just makes me want to vomit. This is what you get when you have a corrupt incompetent Democratic committee who refuses to run anybody against their favorite Republican. Really check out Albany’s Washington Park.

Next the hottest Memorial Day on record and the Saratoga/Capital District Region - NYS Parks refused to open Victoria pool. Remember at $8 a pop the Victoria is the MOST EXPENSIVE Public Pool in the state. Now they will give you some bullshit about no life guards. Well the same lifeguards who watch Moreau Lake State Park watch Victoria Pool. On Tuesday May29 2012 the day after Memorial Day,Moreau had SIX life guards for maybe 20 people. Remember they all work for Saratoga/Capital District Region - NYS Parks. Check out the video with three working the chairs and there were three more relaxing at a picnic table.

This is also bullshit. Moreau Lake is open 7 days a week rain or shine. I get in for free after buying a $65 Empire Pass available for any car with a New York plate. It will get you in for free to any State Park, except of course Victoria Pool. They only take cash $8 for anyone over 12 and 6 for any kid with at least one leg out the womb.

Albany NY; Tales from the Darkside

Many of you were wondering about my absence from Saratoga Springs this holiday weekend. Well I’m happy to report that Saratoga in Decline has opened an Albany Bureau. I now work out of the Daily Grind on Lark Street while I continue to investigate one of the strangest stories of my career.
For the first time in recent memory, my cell phone actually ran out of juice {in Abany my blog is known as SID} over this long holiday weekend. That’s because I’ve been receiving so many calls as a result of the recent stories in the New York Times (HERE) and the Times Union (HERE) concerning a prostitution bust that took place last March at the Green Garden Asian Spa IN Albany, NY..Many of those phone calls concerned the “are-you-shitting-me” claim by J. Robert Port, the TU’s Senior Editor for Investigations, that the bust was the result of a conspiracy involving Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings, the Albany Police Department, and the Albany County Sheriff’s Office - and that it was done as retaliation for some of the TU’s stories concerning the Sheriff Office’s former drug unit. But a lot of them were also about Kevin A. Luibrand (http://www.luibrandlaw.com/), NXIVM’s original lap-dog lawyer - and the guy who, along with NXIVM founder, Keith Raniere a/k/a Vanguard, begat the cult’s ongoing program of intimidation-by-litigation.
In addition to representing NXIVM and Raniere, Luibrand has also represented a whole host of unsavory characters over the past few years. I know that “criminal defense attorneys” often do that as part of their day-to-day work - but, in my experience, the best of them still have standards.
Luibrand, by contrast, has never found anyone that he wouldn’t defend, as long as they had enough money to afford his “Super Lawyer” fees. (Yep, just like my favorite criminal defense attorney, Steve Coffey, Kevin has also bought himself that “Super Lawyer” title). These include former Schenectady police chief Greg Kaczmarek - and Mosharref Hossain, a local pizza shop owner who, along with local Iman Yassin Muhiddin Aref, were charged with running an international money laundering operation that helped anti- American terrorists.

And, to the surprise of many, Luibrand is now representing Bob Port and his wife even though neither of them has been charged with a crime. Like Steve Coffey would say, that’s nice work if you can get it.

But Luibrand’s involvement in the Port case is also seen by many as further confirmation that Luibrand played a central role in helping take down former Albany Police Chief Jim Tuffy - and former Albany County Sheriff Jim Campbell (HERE) and HERE). That’s because Tuffy and Campbell were on top of Port’s “hit list” of public officials that needed to be taken down.

So, in the last 8 years, Albany County has lost a veteran Albany County DA, Sol Greenberg, and his protégé, Paul Clyne, who was beat out by the Working Families Party hand-picked candidate, P. David Soares; a veteran Albany City Police Chief, Jim Tuffy; and a veteran Albany County Sheriff, Jim Campbell. And what did they get in return?

But, making all of this even worse is the word I’m hearing that, despite a little dust-up back in 2003 about the fees he charged for losing a Preliminary Injunction case that NXIVM eventually brought to the U.S. Supreme Court, Luibrand is back in bed with Keith Raniere and the President of NXIVM, Nancy Salzman. And why, you ask, would Kevin do that? Well, my friends, that apparently goes back to those wonderful Explorations of Meaning (EMs) that NXIVM uses to find out each member’s worst-ever deeds and greatest-ever fears.

At the time that NXIVM decided to replace Luibrand on the Ross case, Salzman openly bragged about the fact that he would never do anything to harm NXIVM because “…we have so much dirt on Kevin he’d lose his license to practice law and probably end up in jail if he tries to do anything to harm us.” Yep, folks, that’s what happens when you decide to spill your guts to the high priestess of NXIVM.

So, here we are with NXIVM openly running a Ponzi scheme in Colonie, NY and thumbing its nose at state and federal tax authorities while its leader goes about trying to top Wilt Chamberlain’s claim that he slept with 20,000 women (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_life_of_Wilt_Chamberlain). And meanwhile, the local Sheriff’s department and the local DA keep their eyes carefully averted from everything that is NXIVM.

And now we have the TU’s Senior Investigative Editor {Do they also have a Junior Investigative Editor?} involved up to his eyeballs in a case that I believe will eventually involve charges of human trafficking and sex slavery. And, to top things off, Senior Editor Port - along with his wife and, wonder of wonders, the accused prostitute – lives in Chatham, NY which just happens to host a variety of over-the-top sex clubs. One of the strangest stories I have ever heard was told to me by a frightened man on Albany’s South End{ he called the spot for the meeting}.I was told that Chatham, NY is home to a notorious Hell-Fire club. This club is rumored to be the meeting places of "persons of quality” who wished to take part in immoral acts such as hard core acts of Sadomasochistic humiliation and even torture. I was told members were often very involved in politics. One was said to be an ex-governor of NY.
I was told some of the women were professionals who specialized in this form of “entertainment” Which I'm told included defecating and urinating on men in great positions of power. I really don’t have a problem with that aspect to the story, but I was also told fresh Chinese girls {he called them fresh meat} were also used. Now as many of my long time readers know I have deep ties to the Russian and Ukrainian community in Brighton Beach Brooklyn {here} They explained the Chinese system of Human trafficking goes something like this. Poor naive girls are recruited from the Chinese countryside with promises of jobs in America. These girls have very limited prospects in China so many take the bait.

Then they are smuggled by boat to Vancouver Canada {a very large NXIVM training center is there HERE} and brought cross country to the Canadian ,New York border. Here they are smuggled through St. Regis Mohawk Reservation. This is a Mohawk Indian reservation in Franklin County, New York, from here they are transported to Chinatown NYC. This type of human trafficking supplies women for forced labor, domestic servitude, and sex trafficking. The women are in what is called debt bondage. They owe vast sums of money to their masters the Traids/Tongs. These Traids/Tongs are the most powerful organized crime in the world, even more than the Italian Mafia ever was.

Even my Russian friends steer clear of them. There are AT LEAST 100,000 KNOWN Asian mobsters in the world. They limit violence to very small doses now. Their gang is run like a business. They are everywhere. In Prague when I met some Russian friends to buy some WW2 artifacts, I was taken to what’s called a “Chinese Market” this in the middle of central Europe. Nice stuff by the way. In Chinatown they just tossed the Senegalese bootleg watch sellers out and now have a monopoly on the watch and bag business. Some of the Asian Traids have existed since the 1600s. They have secret traditions, rituals (even for initiation), handshakes and EVEN SIGN LANGUAGE. The largest known gang in the world is the 14K Triad. These gangs participate in all forms of criminal activity but their most lucrative form of business is trafficking of illegal immigrants (mainly women). It is estimated that the earnings of trafficking of illegal immigrants is 3.2 Billion a year yet is punishable in most of Europe and the United States of only 5 years in prison.

Some end up giving hand jobs to "clients" in Asian massage parlors like the Green Garden Asia Spa owned by J. Robert Port, the TU’s Senior Editor for Investigations . Another aspect of these operations is the girls are kept in their pimps home {sound like Port?}. This way whatever pittance they earn is deducted for room and board. Part of me is excited to be playing a very small part in exposing this business taking place in New York’s Capital but I admit it eats at my very soul. I’m just a little man who writes on a little blog. I just hope that by writing this post the victims will be helped. Fuck Port and Albany DA David Soares. I care more for the fate of one of these girls than all the Ports and Soares of this world. I sleep tonight back home knowing that for once I and God are thinking the same way.

Today started with competing stories in the Times Union (HERE) and the New York Times (HERE) about the arrest back in mid-March of a Chinese immigrant named Mia Lin who was working at the Green Garden Asian Spa down on North Pearl Street in Albany and who allegedly offered undercover detective Scott Gavigan a little “something extra” from the establishment’s menu. No big deal, right - which is exactly how I how reacted until I found out that the spa was owned by Bin Cheng who just happens to be the wife of the Times Union’s Senior Editor for Investigations Bob Port.J. Robert Port and his wife, Bin Cheng.My first thought was that the Ports would deny they knew anything about the alleged prostitution and blame Mia Lin for whatever happened with the undercover officer. But, much to my surprise, Port came out swinging (no pun intended) and claimed that the raid on his wife’s spa was the result of a conspiracy between the Albany Police Department, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office and Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings. (Good luck to the mayor, who had knee surgery earlier today).

One little problem Bob. Your wife was running a jack shack, a rub and tug or a happy ending special. Now maybe the police response was overkill and excessive but my research shows your wife’s establishment was well reviewed on Spa Hunters, Upstate New York ECCIE {Escort client community information exchange} and if that’s not damming enough usasexguide. Seriously, if one of Bob’s students wrote a story with the same kind of “facts” that Bob offered up, they would have received a big old F when Bob was teaching journalism courses at Columbia University.

Well, I figured, that was a lot of excitement just before the holiday weekend - and headed back down to my office at Uncommon Grounds in Saratoga Springs {this keeps up I might open a second office at Uncommon Grounds on Western in Albany}. Just after I arrived, my poor little Android phone, I hate apple, even the cities pet dogs have i-phones. Michele Riggi’s 30 dogs have designer i-phones but I digress. Anyway {focus john} my android phone started blowing up with emails and text messages about “new developments” in the Bob Port story.

First, I found out that Bob and his wife were being represented by Kevin Luibrand NXIVM member #3839, the attorney that originally represented NXIVM in its attempt to silence cult critic Rick Ross. (HERE). How funny is that, I thought, that a newspaper guy would hire an anti-1st Amendment cult attorney to represent him and his wife against criminal charges that have yet to be filed.

Next, I got notices about the hastily-put-together Press Conference that NXIVM aficionado DA Soares set up for today. And, joy of joys, the topic of the Press Conference was Soares “Enough Program” that is apparently the centerpiece of his re-election campaign.
And why was I so happy to hear about the topic of Soares’ Press conference? Because it came up when I was doing some research on P. David and his now infamous girlfriend, Stacy Quackenbush. (HERE).

Just like so many other clowns who love to post their entire lives on Facebook, Stacy (and her kin) love to put up numerous photos to show the world just how much fun their having in life - and make them available to everyone, including me. But, unfortunately for Soares, some of those photos just might prove a bit embarrassing.

Sores got slapped around pretty good in that one. Remind me Albanian why did you vote for this guy?

As originally reported in the Times Union yesterday, Albany County DA David Soares’ ex-stripper girlfriend, Stacey Quackenbush (God, I love that name!) was “transferred out of the district attorney’s office and taken a new post as a legal secretary in the county’s Department of Human Resources.” Well, the papers were barely delivered when the TU had to start making “updates” on its web version of the story.

The first “update” came out early yesterday morning after TU readers started raising questions about the job transfer: “Quackenbush received a permanent civil service appointment (as opposed to temporary) from a list generated by an April 2010 exam. The pay, according to Rozak, is the same as her job in the DA’s office.”

The second “update” came out after more readers asked more questions about what was obviously a bullshit solution to a bullshit problem that never should have happened in the first place “Quackenbush didn’t so much transfer jobs so much as her job was transferred to another department. In other words, according to Rozak, Quackenbush has been re-assigned to HR, where she’ll report to the acting HR commissioner but still be paid under the district attorney’s office’s budget. That’s why, Rozak said, there is no legal secretary position in the 2012 HR budget.

The long-range goal, as County Exec Dan McCoy’s plan to consolidate the various legal jobs around the county into the County Attorney’s office continues, is that Quackenbush’s job will eventually be incorporated into the Law Department and its budget, Rozak said. McCoy’s administration discussed that very topic — in broad terms — with the legislature’s Law Committee last night.
“The HR department is really pretty lean, so when we’ve needed that additional back-up,” she said. “It is all part of a bigger picture.”

Asked whether the county executive had the authority to make such a transfer without the authorization of the County Legislature, Rozak said “it’s our understanding he can.”She said no one in the HR department was displaced by Quackenbush’s move and that’s likely that the DA’s office will eventually receive another employee in return, like a baseball trade. This is what we Yankees fans might call the A.J. Burnett deal. Or for you members of Red Sox Nation out there, like the Rhode Island-bred DA himself, the Julio Lugo Transaction.

My own comments on this latest flap about the NXIVM-loving DA:
(1) Stacey better damn well have one of the top three scores on the Civil Service exam she supposedly took back in 2004. (Unless it was an oral exam, in which case she may swallowed the results).
(2) I’m sure the fact Albany County Executive Dan O’Connell’s sister works in Soares’ office has nothing to do with Stacey’s transfer.

Man arrested for attempting to kidnap, rape woman on Saratoga Springs street Tuesday morning HERE

Antonio Lopez-Bautista, 18, of South Federal Street, is an illegal immigrant, who was charged with second-degree attempted kidnapping, first-degree attempted rape and second-degree assault, all felonies, as well as criminal obstruction of breathing or blood-circulation, a misdemeanor all against a 67-year-old woman.

This man is the worst kind of scum and will be given 30 years then deported. Reading the comments on the Saratogian website is disturbing. Once again people are spreading messages of terror and hate. This time instead of the Caroline bar hoppers, it was the vast horde of illegal workers who have come to rape our pets, eat our children and force grandma to cook rice and beans or some shit like this.

This was a horrible crime. There are thousands of invisible undocumented workers in our city. They wash dishes, clean horse shit and have a very low crime rate. My grandparents came to Saratoga by way of Ireland to work on the backstretch, later the Irish were replaced by blacks and now the blacks have been replaced by Hispanics. Whoever is low man on the totem pole washes the horse’s ass.

Don’t let fear and misunderstanding drive Public Safety Commissioner “toothy” Christian Mathiesen to launch a new crusade against Saratoga’s Hispanic community.
I applaud this 67-year-old woman who saved her own life and made no mistake she did.

Now I’m going to give you the truth about personal safety.

Saratoga Springs is a safe town.

In the end crime happens, along with fires, accidents and sudden illness. You are your first line of defense. Building on fire? Get the fuck out. People who waited to be saved by the fire dept had a nickname when I worked in the morgue at Saratoga Hospital “crispy critters”.

Attacked? Scream, yell, fight back. Don’t allow yourself to be dragged into any vehicle, you will die. Your attacker is hoping you will acquiesce like a sheep. We call those people "missing persons”
Learn CPR and first aid. Take a course on how to use a defibrillator. The hospital and the Red Cross give them for free. You will find a defibrillator in almost every public building. Yea call 911 but don’t let your loved one die while the fireman are in the checkout line in Price Chopper.

At home get to know your neighbors. They are your eyes and ears. Buy a dog and a gun, learn to use it, join a Rod and Gun club it’s fun. I go every week. Just in case you think the Government can protect you

Again I want to thank Al Roney for having me on his show today. Jim Combs, from Adirondack Radiology who so generously offered to give me a free $5,000 CT scan and Chris Churchill of the TU and all the people who have expressed concern for me. But enough about me. Back to the blog

Tonight I bring you a fascinating tale.
Every once in a while, I notice when a new reader comes onto the blog. That’s especially true when the new reader happens to be sitting in the Executive Office of the White House!

Yep, believe it or not, this little blog is now being read by someone who sits in (or at near to) the Oval Office. Just last Wednesday, the following URL popped up on my monitor:

I watch my stats pretty good. Key words, logarithms, algorithms I caught on to them pretty quick. That is also one of the reasons this has become the number 1 blog outside of Albany in upstate NY. I've seen all kinds of Ip's but this was a first

So, I asked myself, why am I suddenly drawing the attention of someone who works for the President of the United States? Well, as it turns out, it looks like I have Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares (or whatever name he’s using this week: HERE and HERE) to thank for all of this attention.

So I start digging around. And the story behind that connection is so bizarre that even I found it hard to believe the first time I heard about it.

On May 8th, President Obama came to Albany, NY to visit the Nano Tech Complex at the State University of New York (SUNY). HERE, HERE and HERE. And as soon as the wheels of Air Force One were touching down at the Albany International Airport, who do you suppose was trying to weasel his way into the crowd that had gathered to greet the 44th President of the United States? Well, that would be Albany County DA P. David Soares and his 26-year old ex-stripper squeeze, Stacey Quackenbush

Prior to taking a position under Soares in the DA’s office (pun intended), Quackenbush reportedly used to perform at DiCarlo’s “Gentlemen’s Club”{ http://dicarlos.com/main_menu.html): HERE
So, how the hell did Soares cause the White House to start monitoring my website, you ask? Well, here’s the story.
Whenever the President travels about, the Secret Service is supposed to put together a pre-screened list of people who are allowed to be within close proximity of him. I say “supposed” because years ago, I (and a friend of mine) were allowed admission to a meet-and-greet room with then President Bill Clinton even though we got tickets at the last minute. We also were not required to go through any metal detectors or anything like that.

In any event, Soares and his girl friend were not on the pre-screened list of people who got to meet with the President before he spoke at the Nano Tech Center. So they, of course, were turned away by the Secret Service detail. (This happened even though several members of the detail supposedly recognized Stacey from DiCarlo’s when they were here for an earlier Presidential visit).
So, what did P. David do when the Prez’s guys blew him off? Well, Dave did what any self-respecting American male would do in that situation: he called one of his bro-pals and asked for some help.
In this case, the bro-pal was supposedly the captain of the SUNY Albany police force, who the SUNY Albany website indicates is William Yankowski. And, being the bro-pal that he is, the captain arranged for P. David and Stacey to be in the Holding Room where the President and his entourage held court before he gave his nano-tech speech.

Just about everyone in the Holding Room - including P. David and Stacey - got to pose for a photo with the Prez. But unlike everyone else, P. David and Stacey never got a copy of their picture. That’s because all hell broke loose once the Secret Service guys figured out that neither of them were on the list of approved attendees.
The Secret Service detail reported got their heads handed to them, as did the SUNY Albany Police Chief. And, in a fit of pique, the White House told P. David “No picture for you, asshole!”
So, a week after this latest little fuck-up by the Secret Service, the White House is on my website and looking for past posts about Soares. In case they missed a few, they’re all HERE.

Being President of the U.S. is a difficult and often thankless job. But you’d think that as President, you could at least avoid the embarrassment of being photographed with a District Attorney who has never tried a case in court, who has hired a former stripper with whom he now has a “committed relationship”, and who has close ties to the NXIVM cult (HERE, HERE and HERE).

Oh, and did I mention that three of Stacey’s sisters have been charged in Albany County with various drug offenses since Soares took office in 2005? HERE
Seriously, you just can’t make this kind of shit up!

By the way, anyone who doubts the authenticity of this story is welcomed to check with members of New York’s Congressional delegation like Sen. Gillibrand, Sen. Schumer or Congressman Paul Tonko. Tonko accompanied the President on Air Force One and personally witnessed this entire Twilight Zone episode.

A fine man named Jim Combs, from Adirondack Radiology took time out of his busy day to walk up to Uncommon Grounds to meet me this morning in Uncommon grounds. In an unbelievable act of generosity he offered to do the CT scan for free.

I will always be grateful for this offer and it restores my faith in humanity.

This is what I told him.

I have insurance and just paid a premium last Friday. That this was not just about me but the other sixteen people canceled. My CT is scheduled for Wednesday at Saratoga Hospital. My insurance must pay for it. We have a contract and I want 1199SEIU to honor our contract. I and my wife are not charity cases. Yes we are the working poor who can no longer afford to live in my home town but we get by.

I also realize that there are many people who are worse off than me. They have two much income for help but not enough to buy insurance. Please give an uninsured person the CT you kindly offered me.

I am also not suicidal. I would like to take you up on your offer if they cancel me for the third time. Again I thank you for your kindness.
