Once there was a busy little Victorian City that was the envy
of the northeast. But if you listened to these city council meetings you would
think this town was a dangerous, drunken, toxic hellhole with gun totting bad
man stocking up with c-4, ammo and assault weapons purchased at unregulated
arms bazaars at the Civic Center.
Seriously just when you thought the gun show controversy
would die down Susan Steer, husband Bob Turner and her merry minions came “loaded
for bear” I don’t think she’d like that analogy. OK carrying binders full of
women I mean Data. Then they comically claimed they resented the police expense
that their protest at the Civic Center caused. Really. The pro-gun people were
also present with the obligatory quote from Adolf Hitler’s book Mein Kampf on
gun control. Enough on that.
Weep’en Willie McTygue was on a roll tonight. Not a tear in
sight but he had water on the brain as he lashed out in a confusing tirade
about water, Wilton, conspirators and Anthony "Skip" Scirocco
Commissioner of Public Works. But all I could think of was

Nobody on the council touched the Gun Show or Precious Bodily Fluids at this meeting. Then we had two presentations .One from Anthony "Skip" Scirocco that took an hour but basically came to the conclusions that the city had lots of water and a second from a gentleman from Amtrak that spoke about Saratoga losing one of its two daily trains. This would make a 17million dollar train station even more useless.
The meeting finally began at 8:40. By this time most had
left even Yepsen was gone only to return later for her agenda. Then the
kicker. Michele Madigan, Commissioner of
Finance, John Franck, Commissioner of Accounts and Chris “Toothy” Mathiesen,
Commissioner of Public Safety will do all within their power to stop the Mayor’s
Comprehensive Review Committee from ever getting off the ground. They refused
to summit any names for consideration and will refuse to fund it. Madigan
called it DOA.
Then she tried to give the Mayor a history lesson saying “Mayor Lenz
tired this and it didn’t turn out to well for him”
Well let me give you a history lesson.
I was against Lenz too. Not for his Comprehensive Review
Committee but because he supported Steven Towne’s disastrous reassessment of
the city. That along with wide spread disenchantment with Republicans in
general do to George Bush and the Iraqi war. Democrats were swept into power
giving us Val Keehn. Within two months people wanted Mike Lenz back. Keehn went
on to go down in history as perhaps the worst Mayor in history and her comprehensive
plan is gathering dust somewhere. So before you warn a three term Mayor better
look around. That bald guy next
to you. You know the one who just hired Billy McTygue’s ex, Tara Coxworth in
his department. The one whose GAP’s committee gave us an alcohol and drug treatment
center with possible Methadone clinic on the cities prime entrance-way. The one
who failed to disclose his business relationships and lowered an assessment on
a home he was under contract to buy, than lowered his deputy’s assessment to
boot. The other guy you know the democrat “toothy” the one that is a running
joke in the city. The one who said the ambulance service was doing swimmingly, thank
you but didn’t give a public a copy of the report. Now that’s what I call open
and transparent. Yea good luck with him
getting reelected.
The rest of the meeting was the usual bullshit. Someone
texted Yepsen to come back and everybody at least the Dems went to the bar

John, before you credit J. Franck with giving "Weeping Willie"'s ex-girlfriend a job in his dept. I suggest you investigate a bit further. If you do, I'm sure you will find that Tara is a tenant of Elio's. I wouldn't creidt B. McTygue with obtaining this position, he & Tara aren't even on speaking terms.
I'd also suggest before you continue to show B. McTygue in such a "dirty" light you do some other investigation on your own regarding the Wilton water deal. I think you will fine that Wilton hasn't signed anything, they've requested their payment for the water back, the water has been turned off, turned on, turned off, & turned on again once a Schenectady Gazette reporter started asking questions on the water treatment plant. Seems everyone interviewed had a different answer. Two or three stating the water has been turned off, one Commissioner stating the direct opposite. Once you've checked into these two matters you may or may not come to a different conclusion.
What's wrong with the Wilton Water deal JT besides everything? First the wrong person is being blamed for making this happen,the council member who made this happen is Mathesian (HE WAS THE SWING VOTE HERE)and he voted for it,everything Scirocco has done in regerds to this deal in my opinion has been illegal-----just looking at this Council everybody has their own agenda and it has nothing to do with being a partisan....there're personal agendas',very different.....looking at this mess as a taxpayer and in all fairness they all can be beat because singuarly they stink and collectively they're disfunctional.On another note,the Cities representative for county Ms.Jo-anne Yepsen is currently engaged with a left wing loon ball and they are trying to undermine the City Center...was she elected to keep Commerce out of the City?,this elected offical should be removed from office.
The big Democratic meeting at Elis'house in which "The Weeper" attended was to finalize the deal,which was to give Tara the job in Francks' Office so she can earn money and pay rent to Eli,hell that's right out of the democratic party play book, never mind whether she's qualified or not just as long as the BOSS gets paid.Lets'see:Meth Clinic at the Gate way to the City,The smelly Wilton Water Deal,Charter Change,questionable hiring practices,the scandal in Civil Service,these are all being championed by the Democratic Party,,time to vote these power hungry few out,time to sober up.
The dust gathering Comp Plan was a good document .. it only neeed some fine tuning by an editor to pull it together. It was the result of 9 long months of hard work and dedication by a well represented committee, but it failed to make it to the Council table for ratification because of the distracted vapid mayor.
The train/bus station is far from useless.
This spectacle was too much too miss. First regardless of the subject matter the disrepct and anger shown by Mr. McYgue reflects he has some serious problems. He is worse than Mattieson. As for the Comprehensive plan there is nothing in writing in the charter nor the state law that states the council selects the committee. The Council's role is to approve the expense and than when presented with the completed plan give their input on how to improve or eliminate an area. Pretty simple but not for this bunch. It is all politically cheoreographed with the goal being to demean the Mayor and undrmine him at any possible chance. In effect what they are accomplishing is nothing but hrurting the city to go forward in a positive manner. Each have some problems with ego and possibly more and have and will become the disgrace of the city.At least Skippy did a nice job with his water presntation and used professionals to support his point. They make a point but can't substaniate it. Why was the 2012 Ambulance Service Report distributed and not discussed at the end of the meeting for transparency reasons. Does the taxpayer matter less than the separate egos of this bunch. they cna kill the plan and slow down the process but will pay for being obstructionists rather than commissioners. Most them shouldn't be there anyway. Another $26,000 for EMS training. Let's spend and spend, hurt the City Center which is the cities revenue engine and than whine when revenues decrease especially in the short term low growth economy. The "My way or the highway approach" will not work. It doesn't work at the Federal and State level and won't work here. Hell the State and Feds already screed up their first attempt at a decent gun restrction law!!

These democrats have really become the laughing stock. Do they have a mayoral candidate yet? Is clue Franck going to be grilled for his assessment wheelings and dealings? Time for him to hit the skids! Take him out and the rest will crumble.

A. John Frank - Manipualator
B. Christian Mattieson - A troubled man who is never wrong and need a serious mental eveluation.
C. Michele Madigan - A newcomer caught up with the political system who cosositently looks for ways to help and hurt the statem at the same time. Her arrogance is well defined and the compnay she keeps will ruin her future in politics. She is a control freak as well.Anyone can move dollars produced by previous councils from account to account. Let's see how she can do when the money dries up or hope we won't have to experience another tearful event.
Figure that out and maybe the city can move forward. As for McTygue he needs some serious time to eliminate the anger and vindictatives he reflects on a constant basis.He is not the person he once was.
This just shows the voters how corupt and screwy "these" Democrats are(I'm life long one)but don't approve of "these",why not blame the person who cast the vote that set the Wilton Water deal in Motion? Because it doesn't fit the Democratic Partys' narative of trying to blame the Republican Party for everything...the water deal that the "loons"are saying is soooo scandalous was set in motion by a democrat...Mathesian...why aren't the "loonies" attacking him??There's no creditability with their complaints just drunk'en FOLLY and on top of that democrat Yepsen is chasing commerce out of the City.
Good Comment 7:43. This is the new brand of Democrat described as Progressive but in reality are regressive. Half of them reflect in the life history they can't even keep a familt together. That's what I call not meeting a committment. Everything the Progessives have accomplished to date has been regressive. Close Caroline Street down,give water to wilton,get raped then get yelled at for being outside,destroy an entrance to the city, give assessment breaks to employees,hire civil service chairmans' tenant so she can pay him rent,oooohh if people would just leave us "demonuts" alone we could accomplish so much more..the above is only the beginning.

The Comprehensive Plan Committee has always had representatives from each Department with the Mayor getting an extra vote. And why would the Mayor put Birge on that committee, the fact is that the man knows nothing about planning or land use. He's a car salesman with a degree in social work who wormed his way up to the top with a bogus title and a fat salery.
Birge's planning group brought us the transfat zones that jerrymandered accross the city redistributing the wealth like it was urban renewal all over agaion.

It was nice of Madigan to complement Mr.Scirocco on his fine PRESENTATION of our current water supply,if only Mathesian would put something like that together on the future revenues involving the EMS system and Madigan as the chief financial officer of the city should be demanding it.

The attacks against me for speaking to the City Council last night and accusing me of somehow being drunk or smelling of alcohol brings your Blog to new lows, not to mention the delusional state of some of these characters who remain anonymous on this blog. To even have to respond to such claims makes me wonder if some of your political lackeys are even capable of carrying on a civil conversation dealing with the facts.
You really need to start filtering some of this garbage that typically appears daily on this space.

I'll tell you what smells, it's the Wilton water deal that been cooked up behind closed doors promising to sell City water at the same time the state Department of Health is telling the City we haven't enough for our own use here in the City. If John Tighe was really interested in the truth patrons of this blog would be reading how his friends in City Hall have plotted to get large real estate interests in the Town of Wilton City supplied water and have City taxpayers pay for it! Simply put, you aren't reading about the Wilton Water scandal because it cuts to close to some of JT's pals in City Hall. So to those who choose to take shots at me and hide behind anonymous, I can only say, in the eyes of anyone with a half-a-brain, you remain very small and incapable of dealing with the truth!
The main question on this water is this,why is the city spending a million dollars on bog meadow to get a 1.9million gallons of water a day??when the city can spend a $100,000 and update the saratoga lake option and have all the water you can ever need,the city just needs to apply for the permit,studies have all been done,why are we wasting this money?

That said I have had a front row seat to your increasingly erratic behavior in front of the council.In truth I think the Mayor has shown you to much leeway and personally I would have had you removed. The fact that people think you might have been drinking is a completely reasonable assumption.

I also have info from former city employees that tell me of a faulty valve that allowed the unlimited flow of water to Wilton when Roy McDonald was Wilton supervisor under your watch. In a court of law I'll be happy to name names.

As a long-time Saratogian, I have voted my conscience every time. Some of my votes were for Dems, some for Republicans. I voted for the person, not the party.
When the person showed that he or she did not live up to my expectations, or live up to their promises, I helped to vote them out.
One person who I voted for consistently was Tom McTygue. He knew Saratoga Springs, backwards and forward. He could give a presentation without notes. He was elected while still in his twenties. Yes, he was a bully, yes he was on top of all DPW workers, from the top to the bottom. He knew his job and he did it well.
He had a lot of help from his brother Bill, and they made a great team.
All these accusations against the McTygue family need to stop. Unless someone has proof of wrongdoings, they should stop dragging the McTygue name in the mud.
So let me get this straight.Billy can make all the accusations he wants but no one else can?

John, Anytime you want to sit and deal with the facts, I'm prepared to do so. I will not chase unfounded rumors about past history dealing with anonymous sources making claims about unlimited flows of water going into Wilton. All I can say is that is simply not true because for the past 40 years all water services in the City and even customers outside the City have been metered. Also, I'd be happy to explain my reasoning for firmly believing the just hatched Wilton Water deal is bad for the City and also remind you that I was the one who broke this story last August. Without my blowing the cover on this story last year, this thing would have happened without you or anyone else for that matter ever hearing about it. Your friends in the Mayor's office did everything they could to run cover on this latest water deal (put in motion by fellow republican Scirocco) to sell water to new residential areas off Ingersoll Road by simply making the excuse that it was somehow tied to the Original 1998 water sale agreement to sell water to exclusive commercial districts in the Town Wilton at Exit 15. Come on JT, let's put all these personal attacks aside and I'll put my facts on the table for you to better understand.. you are being duped on this one; just because it's easier to launch personal attacks than to argue the facts!

He will sweet talk you in to an 'interview' then will not print a word of the conversation but will make up his own story and you'll kick yourself for being had! He is not to be trusted.
