Just a quick post.Nemo finally arrived. Too bad it came
after most area school boards gave the kids a snow day. Nice move.
Eddie Miller was named county Independence party chair this
afternoon replacing outgoing and popular chair Patti Southworth, Town of
Ballston Supervisor and county clerk candidate. Eddie will be the man in the hotspot
come November when everyone will want the independence endorsement. He’ll make
friends and enemies but that’s the way this game is played. We wish the
personable Mr. Miller all the luck in the world in his new position.
And finally the names on the Mayor’s comprehensive review committee
were leaked today. This after all the council agreed to keep them private. Inside
sources tell me this was the work of John Franck but I can’t independently
prove that.
And what do I think? Well I would have made a few different choices
but I tend to have very strong opinions.
And what do I think about the current crop of Dems making choices.
Ya that’s a laugh.
Let’s see John Franck. How about Diane Young and Harry
Manios.
Michele Madigan. Charlie Samuels and Billy McTygue
And Christian 'Toothy" Mathiesen. How about Lew Benton and Amy
Durland.
No I guess I’ll just stick with the Mayor’s picks.
And finally the funniest comment of the day left at the
Saratogian.

Democrats would make? They'd replace Sonny with Skateboard Charlie, yank out
Cliffy and replace with Ms. No (Amy Durland), and finally pull Rowland and
replace with Keehn or Nancy Goldberg. Boy, that would be quite the
"equitable" group. It would take 3 years and 12,000 pages of new
regulations to form the new plan. You wouldn't have a new building built
without separate handicap and skateboard ramps out front and a double wide
trailer on the roof for the affordable housing aspect. The exterior walls would
have to be camouflaged in organic moss and the roof covered with wind mills and
solar panels. Of course, the solar panels would be designed in an historic
decor suitable and appropriate for the 19th Century.

I think your right John the Committees'names came out of Accounts Office so much for the Mayor trusting him,Scotts picks are not only very qualified for the task at hand but they have a professional experience in the field of planning and not any experience in politics,very well thought out...looks like a winner!
They all hang out together:Kane,Wilkes Yepsen,Martin Mathesian,Madigan,Franck,Mctygue and Finneran all BIG Saratoga Citizen supporters,they lost the bid to take over Saratoga Springs(Thank God),Scott Johnson supported The Success Group and Won yet again,these people just continue to challenge the will of the people of Saratoga Springs,come November<><> 3 people will no longer be on the city council,believe it!
That is why it shuld be left to a professional not a group of people who collectively live for themself from day to day. The undermining of this process is so clear and turns my stomach. If they don't provide the funding if I were the Mayor I would hire the consultant and absorb the dollars in his budget. What is Madigan going to do. Refuse to pay a city bill. They sneak mor espending in around cormers, through the consent agenda and on and on it becomes a joke. Any Council that holds up a City Comprehensive by refusing to approve the funds for a consultant is MinorLeague at best. As I have stated before progessive is not regressive. The plan follow the letter of the Charter and the Law!!!
Hate to break the news to you John, but the Mayor made the announcement to Lucian McCarty and it was published in the paper on Friday regarding his choices after he gave the Council their 2 days to make 2 choices. He is the first Mayor in Saratoga history to #1. not give a Council at least a minority number of choices (5), and #2. He did not appoint at least 1 or 2 common folk that would have represented some various parts of the City that are already under represented. I like Sonny Bonacio but putting one of the largest developer's in Saratoga on a Comprehensive Plan Committee will only be a one sided viewpoint. So there goes your conspiracy theory about a leak of the names. It was JOHNSON who leaked them.

Leaks or no leaks it was published and all choices are highly qualified. As for Sonny Bonaccio he is a common man who came from nothing to be a very successful person. Geat choice. His knwoledge is invlauable. The only person reflecting any leadership here is the Mayor. Look at the Federal and State Government. They stumble every day over their own egos and accomplish little or nothing. They do have one great ability and that is to make speeches. While all this is happening The country and state are both declining. People are leaving New York in droves and I can't blame them I would as well but all my family and grandchildren are here and at least I have that comfort. In four years we will not recognize what we call the United States of America. Why people waste their time making meaningless comments is beyond me. The poeple trying to make a difference in this city get criticized, demeaned and even shut out of their own party.The City is so desparate for leadership it has become almost an illness. Look around. Even the common sense things that should be done daily go unnoticed. The average shift of a patrol officer spends endless hours parked in areas that are irrelevant. The SSFD to their credit is the busiest department but other than a excellent product will produce endless additional costs for the City. We have so many vehicles assigned to so many position that we may ned a fleet supervisor to keep track. There are days when there are more city vehicles parading down Broadway than civilian vehicles. Where are the plans for the shift, the goals for the day and the followup to ensure a secondary function is there if the primary is completed. people do not manage themselves but where is the follow up.Read the recent Ambulance Report yesterday and the most important section is almost blank. Is that because of lack of ability or is it that no one wants to project what the true cost would be over five to ten years. Mark my words this will be a taxpayer expense that will rise every year and will become insurmountable.I realize this commentary will be criticized but for those who remeber five years from now will become reality.
8:15 - Scott Johnson did not give support to the Success Group. It was the Success group that saw the flaws in the proposed new charter and cam together and defeated it because it was both operationally and fiscally the wrong way to go. Is your hate of the Mayor created your ability to comprehend anything. Check the donations You will not find his name on the list. he didn't put money in an envelope as some department s did did during the last election. Try dealing with facts for awhile and come out of that cloud you are in.
Congratulations to eddie miller in his new role. Eddie cares for saratoga Springs and I am sure the independenc Party will endorse the candidates that they feel will work in the best interest of Saratoga Springs. The one thing you can say about Eddie is he earned his way. he does not manipualte and cannot be manipulated. Don't think you'll find any Mctygues or Yepsen's on there.
Franck is in cohoots with Bonacio and Steven Rowland is a close buddy of his!From what I see is Franck has two picks on that list that I know of. Remember the guy manipulates people using his assessment power to dictate to his need.
When can we see the ambulance report?
I'd like to see a photo of this Eddie Miller guy.

Franck went South on Success(that's a fact),Mathensian gave Saratoga Citizen $250.00 but wasn't really(according to him)a follower....so he just gives large sums of money to groups and organizations he doesn't believe in!Gee wonder why Public Saftey is screwed up...And Ms Madigan the the Master of playing bothsides against the middle...mmmmm....better luck next time dear.This facts have come from the cloud..ado!
