Methadone Clinic for South Broadway?

Yes I saw the story  in the Saratogian HERE on the new one stop Mental Health center and drug and alcohol rehab center in the new revitalized South Broadway gateway. You can thank John Franck, Joanne Yepsen and Christian “ Toothy” Mathiesen for making that baby happen.
While the Saratogian goes into excruciating detail about the various mental heath issues of county residents they forgot one.
Namely how many county residents are enrolled in Methadone maintenance?
The follow up to that answer is
How much does it costs to cab those residents to the Methadone clinic in the Whitney Young Center in Arbor Hill in Albany?
The follow up to that question is
Are there any future plans do to the high cost in treatment and transportation to open a county Methadone clinic in the new South Broadway location?
But what do I know I’m just a blogger.
Saratoga in Decline
We never Sleep
Because commonsense keeps me up.

Nice Blog and here i found good information about Methadone.Methadone is a rigorously well-tested medication that is safe and efficacious for the treatment of narcotic withdrawal and dependence.

People responsible for making this happen on our gateway may need to check in to this facility. This is criminal to put this place here. At least farther out south broadway (Old Weathervane location) would be in same area as Four Winds. Not in the heart of the city.

Hey Ann Lind--
Wanna buy my house? I live in that quiet little neighborhood a block from proposed the new clinic. I heard they are renaming the south side Zombieland. Real estate values are going to plummet. So this is Frank's idea of reappraising Saratoga?

"Hey dad...Who are these people and where did they come from?" Well, my boy, they are a special lot of social misfits. Some call them cretins. We call them democrats.

BTW, on earlier blog, there was a question of civil service test score for reservation coordinator. IDK about the other scores. I do know I had the first place score with a 90...(the test was one you really couldn't study).

weathervane makes a lot of sense, more private, plenty of parking, wonder if any of our brainless elected officials gave that any thought

Methadone is more addictive than heroin and creates dependency on gov't handouts. I can't believe any conservative worth their salt would endorse it's use. There are newer substances that work better treating addiction. Often private investors own/operate methadone clinics, they are extremely lucrative. They provide places for addicts to congregate, sell drugs to each other and perpetuate their lifestyle.

Methadone clinics are Federally regulated. There is probably no authorization for a Saratoga Springs methadone Clinic. Friendship House operated for many years across the street from the hospital and then on Geyser Road with no problems. There may be a few people smoking outside once in awhile (pretty much the same as any office building these days). I don't think that a facility that provides mental health and counseling services to the people who need such services is de facto an eye sore or a danger to the community.

Warren,Washington and Saratoga do not have a Methadone clinic.

The federal government has offered incentives to these counties to open one.Right now all three cab there addicts at considerable costs to Witney Young.

Warren County recived a fereral lincence to open a clinic in 2010. community pressure forced them to give up.

Saratoga County could benefit fiscally if they receive an operating permit to open a clinic. That is why they have their eye on South Broadway

Maybe Susan Steerless and her hubby Lefty Turner will petition the city to block the proposed meth clinic on South Broadway? (Now if we can just tie this in to the fabricated, make-believe gun threat.) Will the meth clinic be a gun free zone? No guns, just needles and pills, pills and needles! There we go. Imagine if our schools had signs that read 'Drug-Free School Zone.' Half the kids would be bounced for Ritalin and Aderol and the teaching staff on Zoloft and Prozac would have to go to...but the principal could stay because alcohol is still tolerated in the main stream. Think I'm kidding? It was reported in today's Gazette that a 5 year old was suspended for threatening his fellow kindergarden classmate with a fake gun made from Lego blocks. And another kid was suspended for pointing a pink toy bubble pistol in a classroom.
I found this on the web: http://tinyurl.com/kindergardener-loaded-finger
Image... kindergarten terrorists! Yes, this is our Americka. Zero-tolerance. Total stupidity. Glad my kids are grown up.

A bit of history for you

Morning Read I: No Methadone clinic for Glens Falls
October 12th, 2011 by Brian Mann

Heroin use has seen a dangerous resurgence in the US, sweeping rural areas as well as inner cities. Plans to build a methadone treatment clinic in Glens Falls have run up against serious opposition. On Tuesday night, the project was placed on hold.

This from the Glens Falls Post Star.

[T]he Common Council unanimously passed a local law placing an approximately six-month moratorium on opening a methadone treatment center anywhere in Glens Falls.

The moratorium would be in effect until March 31.

The meeting grew heated when an advocate for the clinic suggested that the council's vote might violate the Americans with Disabilities Act, a statement that some board members saw as a legal threat.
The closest methadone treatment now available for addicts recovering Glens Falls area are in Albany and Amsterdam, according to the newspaper.

2/12/12 FRANK J. PARILLO, 4 THERESA TERRACE SARATOGA SPRINGS $150.00 CITIZENS FOR FRANCK

Anonymous said...

This move by Franck and Parillo is very devious.
Parillo owns Hampton Inn & Suites on Lake Avenue. So not only does he make a fortune renting Topper to the county but he hurts the business of his competitor's Hilton hotel next store.
These people are evil

One an Elephant said...

Can a multi-millionaire developer REALLY influence a politician with $150 in chump change? That sounds so unrealistic, it's frightening.

dirtyharry said...

When exactly did Parillo buy Toppers?? At the County database Milligi is still listed as owner. So the sale had to be after July 2012?? And was set up and voted on by October 2012 by board of supervisors which means this deal was already in the works with Franck, Frank, Yepsen, and Republicans at the County. GAPS was nothing but a shield to allow lower assessments and to be able to build up higher. It didn't help the businesses already there- it helped Parillo and Franck.

What we have here is a power grab that doesn't even have a pretense of being ethical. So instead of paying $300.000 a year, the supervisors voted to pay $500,000 a year? Of yes, with taxpayers money which has to be held at a 2% cap???

VOTE OUT anyone associated with this RAW deal.

Albany has enough problems of its own with drug addicts. It certainly doesn't want more addicts imported from other counties. Treat your own headaches........

This clinic has provided mental health services to Saratoga County residents for decades. It was located near the hospital on Church St. most of that time. Then it moved to Geyser Road. There has never been a problem with the clinic or with their clients. There seems to be a lot of prejudice here. I don't remember this much protest against Four Winds. Is it just poor people with mental health issues you don't want to see?

Anonymous said...

7:34pm--right and without prejudice.

Dirty Harry has it right. Vote these assholes out! Can we stop this place from being made a clinic like these other cities did or is it too late?

Yepsen will run for Mayor...the dems.are organizing(it's what they call it) she's all they got, she's can't beat Scott but she don't know that--- her anti gun position has doomed her...facts of life.

"...But what do I know I’m just a blogger." ... with impunity.
South Broadway has been a "development concern" for, how many years? What's the itch JT? This project while not GREAT, is something better than looking, at these building languish over time due in part to low assessments and crabby owners. Just how have you encouraged better development on this (our Wolf Road) strip district John? Have you participated as a resident of Ballston Spa in our downtown concerns? Your issues with Franck and the others “on your list” are unfortunate because it really takes away from your once desirable objectivity.

You want these kind of places near bus stops. Last thing you want is these druggies driving to and from the place!!!

I'm truly enjoying the design and layout of your blog. It's a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a designer to create your theme? Fantastic work!

Dear 9;31 fuck you.

It’s a matter of transparency with no public input. A shady backroom deal that was in the works even as Parillo swindled the owners of it. He devalued the property knowing he had already deal with the county
Ugly all the way around
A nice couple owned the property. Parillo is a bottom feeder. The owners had no idea the county was interested in the property. Parillio at the same time he was lowballing the owners about the haz waste at the site he was negotiating behind the owners back a deal to have the county do the mediation.
So the owners sell to Parillo, cheap 30 days later he signs the sweetheart deal for 28k a month, all renovations and waste cleanup paid by the county. The owners never so it coming. Now to make matters worse back in Nov while arguing changes in zoning to the north side maple dell area Christian “ Toothy” Mathiesen seemingly out of the blue changes the description of doctors and dentist offices to include "clinics". No one knew at the time but Franck did that this seemingly innocuous change for Maple Dell made it possible to allow this clinic on South Broadway since the shared the same zone category. That’s why there’s no public hearing.

Just because it’s legal doesn't make it right

Now since the county is funded by you the taxpayer it would have been in the interest to get the best deal possible for the taxpayer they should have contacted the owner directly. But Parillio spreads his contribution around. He gives money to Dems, Republicans and their committees. Nothing is cheaper to buy than a politicians. But the big money and really big money is in Methadone. This has been about that from the beginning and those people are for-profit and they spread the money around since it comes from the Feds.

The funniest part if it wasn't so pathetic is Parillo doesn't even pay the property taxes. The deal says the county pays Parillo's property tax bill to the city for him. So you pay county taxes to pay city taxes so Parillo won't have to.

This isn't just three business partners one is the gov. The gov should do what's best for the clients and the taxpayer and not what's best for Parillo.By the way John Franck keeps his boat at Dunham's bay owned by guess who? Drumroll please, Frank Parillo

I think having the Meth clinic their is a great idea, now when I drive into town I can have my dirty windshield cleaned by crack heads just like NYC...

JT: Seems some of your itch has more to do with Commander Administrator Bradley Birge who would have to bless the Maple Dell "zoning change". The City does not speak through one voice, let alone one Commissioner’s voice. The Planning Department and our Planning Board and our Bradley made the decision. Shouldn't our Planning Administrator be looking out for the taxpayers of the community that overcompensates him for his experience and his cologne? Now if you believe that JF has pull with the PB that's worth a story.

The land grab by your "bottom feeder" because he was lowballing should not come as such a surprise. Real Estate and EBAY brings out the worst in people sometimes.

LOL

I think you are mistaken. The Saratoga county mental health clinic is not a "for profit." Four winds is a for profit.

Ben lives on said...

You are correct but methadone maintenance is subcontracted out to for profit groups to run the federal subsidized program

Anonymous said...

Transparency with no public input John??? You don't seem to have a problem with no transparency & no public input when it involves the Wilton water deal. Why? Shouldn't it work both ways?

Anonymous said...

What part do you clowns not get in this transaction. Franck is pocketing taxpayer money as he is supposed to be representing the best interest of the city. To just blow it off and say it always happens that way is unexceptable. Vote the SOB out. Power grab here is pretty obvious. Using his political position to make money off of the public is bullshit!

Anonymous said...

Jt--The Mctygue Administration as required by law had to go through a enviromental review and a seris of public hearings before water could be sold to the commercial district at exit 15,scirocco is trying to piggy back that agreement by selling the water to residents in wilton which is illegal,he must go through a public hearing and enviromental review as well, then the bird scirocco can then tell the public why the DOH has nixed this deal----they have told him the city DOESN"T have enough water for the Beaver Pond sub-division on Geyser Crest so how the Hell can you put the interests of the town of Wilton ahead of the taxpayers of Saratoga Springs..will you please open your eyes and jump on the totally incompetent bastard...no more of this cherry picking,of course franck stinks but scirocco reeks.

Ben lives on said...

Here is the deal.I will give you the front page. You can write whatever you want.i will also put up pictures and host any supporting documentation on my dime.

Why JT are you putting on blinders regarding this Wilton Water Deal?

I can't believe you refuse to even investigate the matter. Could you at least give your readers your reason? I have to say, I'm disappointed, always known you to be open minded.
